Routh Walk is brand new to the holiday home market. A recently refurbished, first floor apartment located just off the famous Flowergate in Whitby. An expertly designed space which can be enjoyed by couples or small groups alike. If a cosy break by the sea is what you’re looking for, Routh Walk could be for you.

Sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms this stylish space is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Whitby.
The space
Routh Walk has a simple colour palette. With fresh white walls throughout, each room then brings a pop of colour through the furniture and soft furnishings.

The open plan living, dining and kitchen area is a bright airy space. Featuring a navy corner sofa and glass top coffee table with abstract wall art, you can enjoy a movie night in front of the smart TV or enjoy some local produce from The Whitby Deli with a glass of something sweet.

The property features a u-shape high gloss kitchen with grey metro tiles. Fully equipped with everything you should need for your stay, the kitchen features a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and Nespresso coffee machine.

The extended island from the kitchen is home to four wooden stools, creating a relaxed dining space. If you are visiting to use the property as a base for work the island can double up as a desk.
Routh Walk features two bedrooms. The first bedroom features a king size bed with a beige studded, upholstered headboard, two marble top bedside tables and marble and copper bed lamps. The soft furnishings and artwork add a touch of colour to the room with burnt orange and earthy tones.

The second bedroom features a double bed with a bright sunshine yellow upholstered headboard, round wooden chest bedside tables and ceiling drop lights hanging at either side of the bed. With an abstract wall art montage and paint stroke decorative cushions.

The modern bathroom features a walk in shower, high gloss vanity unit, WC and matt charcoal coloured towel rail. With grey metro tiles and wood effect floor.

Beautiful Apartment, everything you need is provided and just off a Main Street with all different shops , pubs and short walk to harbour top. Great communication from owners at all times checking if need anything and happy. Nice end to my Dads 80th Birthday away , Thank you

The location was perfect
The price was good
Nice clean bedding

The floors and carpets are all dirty skirtings hadn't been clean in a while
Blinds thck of dust
Dog hairs under the cushion just wasn't very clean. All the furnishings are great everything's up to date it just needs a few hrs cleaning down and it would be perfect. I have asthma so I suffered the whole time due to dust.

Location, layout of property, cleanliness and kitchen fittings / appliances. The property was very comfortable and had all we needed for our stay. Some minor issues (more maintenance matters)

The long shelf in the lounge appears to be sagging in the middle (appears legs missing?). Carpets a little dirty (but had been cleaned)

Beds were comfortable and bedding actually looked clean. Location good, but parking bit of a nightmare to find as the 'W' zones with the permit are a bit further from the property and often full.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Routh Walk in Whitby. I am not one to complain but I am so disappointed with the deception of the lovely photos of this place. Firstly, it says this is a ground floor apartment, which is isn't it is up a steep staircase which my mum struggled with due to a knee injury, people have even asked in the Q+A section about this as they are disabled and the property has had the audacity to reply saying it is ground floor.
The biggest issue we had was the total lack of cleanliness of the place. On entering the steep stairs up to the property you're met with stained carpets and an awful musty smell. Then entering the property you're met with yet more stained carpets. The amount of reviews stating this from even a couple of years ago and yet the owners clearly haven't done anything about it is pure laziness. All the surfaces were covered in dust and cobwebs all over the ceiling, fabric sofa stained and dirty looking. The toilet seat was dirty and the lino in the bathroom floor was absolutely filthy, we put a baby wipe over it and the amount of dirt that easily came up from it just speaks volumes on the shear laziness and money making hosts of this property. The overall cleanliness was awful but these were the main issues. There was also no hot water in the property (luckily the shower was electric so all fine) it states on the property guide to turn the emersion heater on when you arrive, but with no instructions on how to find this. I am really disappointed with this stay, you expect more from a company that owns multiple properties, but clearly it is just a money making scheme for them and they don't care about ensuring guests have a comfortable stay. £70 of the booking cost is a CLEANING fee might I add, yet we had to somewhat clean it when we got there to make it liveable, disgusting.

It was in Whitby.

First of all the guy who was messaging me told me there were scratch cards for parking zone W in the apartment. On entrance there were no scratch cards,then I received another message to say there was no scratch cards but there was chargeable car parks nearby. Ok i would have been fine with that if it had been made clear from the outset instead it added another £20 to already steep fees. The apartment is grubby,it smells awful,the hall carpet is stained and smelly,and despite many many reviews saying the same and the response being that they will clean it,it clearly falls on deaf ears. The skirting boards are dirty, there were fingerprints on the sky box and the unit under the tv is bowed in the middle. The sofa is tiny,and uncomfortable and the whole place felt unkempt. There is a clothes unit in 2nd bedroom but no hangers on which to hang clothes and only a tiny dresser drawer that was full of make up debris so basically it's live out of a suitcase. The entrance to the property is accessible by a set of deep, dirty carpeted stairs. I've paid a lot less for a lot better in other places. Please save your money and book elsewhere.
