The location was stunning with fantastic seaviews. The place was very comfortable and warm with enough room for all 12 of us to sit and eat together and also to sit and relax together. Great oven space and fridge and freezer space - all important when you are catering for a large group. Charlie was very responsive and any queries raised were answered very quickly. Able to park three cars very easily by the property and car parks free for the others in winter. Would highly recommend - we had a great new year here.

In need of another toilet for the amount of guests that don’t get an en-suite and some much needed TLC for what could be an amazing house great size location just disappointed that the repairs where needed were not made good and cut corners on curtain rails to the point that they couldn’t be closed and no heating was on when we arrived and it had snowed and hadn’t been let previous days we had to go out until it warmed up and a large house to heat up.Didn’t let these problems spoil our break away will just look for an alt next year

As a family of 10 we had a great stay in Raven House, there was plenty of room for us all to relax after a day out and enough equipment and kitchen space for us to prepare meals and dine in comfort. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. We loved the views over Robin Hood’s Bay, particularly the sunrise on most mornings. Parking for 3 cars was a little tight but we managed to fit in. Overall, Raven House was a lovely place to stay.

No mattress covers only 4 wine glasses for max 12 guests. No basics such as oven gloves, kitchen roll. Maximum 4 dishwasher tabs, no scourer and no washing up liquid. For what we paid I expected a few more basics. Also small front bedroom light not working and some repairs needed. The addition of a downstairs toilet would make a massive difference

We had a lovely few days here, the house is in a beautiful location. The view is amazing and everything is within a short walk. There’s a pub/restaurant on your door step, a nice park nearby which was great for the kids and a bus stop across the road that takes you straight into Whitby or Scarborough. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness everywhere was quite dusty and the floor wasn’t as clean as you would expect, there were items left from previous people (one being someone’s underwear) . Would have been 5 stars if it didn’t lack the attention to detail from the cleaners. But overall the stay was lovely and we would stay again.

This is a grand home which is beautifully decorated, has magnificent views, and is at the top of Robin Hood's Bay, just steps from the bus stop. But there are a few things you need to be mindful of... The only bathroom that isn't en-suite is on the top (2nd floor). That means those in the ground floor lounge or or in one of the first floor rooms that isn't an en-suite will have to get upstairs to use the loo. The kitchen had no paper towels, oven mits or dish soap. There is no laundry facilities and 3 of the bedrooms don't have bathrooms and will have to share the top floor bath. This is managed by a corporation and it feels very corporate (canned e-mails, an app to access information, and no real instructions for things like the fire place, radiator system, etc. we much prefer working with an owner/host and miss the personal connection when it's a corporate manager. The parking was stated as 3 cars which is slightly misleading. The space accommodates one medium car and two very small cars. We had to find a car park for three days for one car. The kitchen was not very clean and we cleaned all the worktops before using the kitchen. The property would benefit from some maintenance and more attention to detail for eg the curtain hold backs in the main bedroom we’re not secure and had filler around them which was very unsightly. The carpets were stained and the stair carpet from the upper floor was loose from the stairs and therefore a slipping hazard and dangerous, especially with children. We did report that on our arrival but nothing was done about it.

Lovely place and beautiful views, nice rooms and nice furniture inside the house. A shame about the lack of kitchen equipment, especially dishes to serve the food in. And the washing machine in the shed is an issue: we haven’t been able to use it for the whole duration of the rent.

there is no shared toilet until the top of the house, none at all on the ground floor. Two on the middle floor are en suite. house sleeps 12 but doesn't seat 12 at finish table. kitchen not well equipped for utensils and serving. beautiful views. great location. easy parking. beautiful furniture. very comfy beds and linen. really good fridge and freezer. stair carpet reported as dangerously detached. Had a response but not fixed during stay. washing machine and tumble dryer not accessible. not sure if they're even part of the listing ?

Beautiful home. Great location. Property is let down by attention to detail. Bathrooms were all extremely clean but the kitchen could have been much better. Some of the cupboards were dirty inside and had to wash plates, cups etc before use. Some items of clothing were left in one of the wardrobes from a previous person and also some medication was left on the floor of one of the bedrooms.

Perfect location with parking for 3 cars. Was easy to find and check in. Plenty of space for 3 families with 3 dogs. The views and location are what make this place. The house could do with a little TLC in places. Nicely decorated but a little dusty and dirty in places. Wine glasses were a bit sparse along with pots and pans for cooking. Overall the house was great for the 10 of us and would go back again.

This Airbnb was gorgeous. I don’t think the photos do enough justice to the decor and views of this place. It was beautiful decorated, felt homely, felt perfect for a large group of people and the views were stunning. It’s a really convenient place right around the corner from a restaurant and easy access to walk to the seafront. The only not as great things were that it was a little confusing where you can park at first, maybe some signage would help including which bit of the front we’re allowed to drop things off at. And it’s worth knowing that the only non-en-suite toilet is on the top floor so we did share the en-suite toilets but one of them is a sliding door that doesn’t lock, perhaps a working lock to the bedroom would help. Didn’t put us off and we’d come back again! highly recommend for a large group stay.

A real gem of a place. Fantastically located with amazing views and near to the lovely Victoria Hotel. The living accommodation is much more spacious than it looks on the photos. Very comfy beds. Very relaxing would be happy to return.

Great location. Exactly what we needed. my whole family (12 of us) decided to book this location because it had everything we wanted for our family Christmas break. some lovely walks straight from your front door and also a small drive away. short 10-15 minute drive to Whitby. parking was a little tight but we managed to get a smaller car and 2x SUV's in the spaces.

We loved our stay here as a group with 2 babies. The host was extremely responsive to all queries and offering advice. The house was great - lovely and well decorated rooms, spacious kitchen and dining / living area. Would definitely stay again! The only down side was no family bathroom (besides a toilet / bathroom on the very top floor) but wasn’t really a huge issue. Thanks!

Family & friends weekend break. Great location, spacious house with everything you needed. Great commutation prior to arrival. The only one thing I think the house could do with is a downstairs toilet as the main bathroom is on the top floor. We love Robin Hoods Bay and this is the perfect place to stay for a big group.

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The location was fantastic, near to beautiful views of the bay, restaurants and public transport. The house was clean and well equipped too. Our only minor drawbacks were to do with communication around the waiver charge and only having the contact details for Host and Stay and not the owner.

Great spacious house for my birthday celebrations, well appointed kitchen that met our needs, bit grubby in places and the furniture wasn't very comfortable. Biggest gripe was the communal toilet was on the top floor, it was great having so many en suites but a long way to go for a pee in the evening or overnight (we were mainly women of a certain age). But great location next to the pub. Space for three large cars was an exaggeration but we did manage.

Raven House was beautiful, spacious and in the perfect seaside town setting. The views were wonderful, overlooking the sea and the quirky rooftops of Robin Hoods Bay. Just a short walk from the bay with a handful of lovely pubs and cafes. An easy drive to Whitby for a nice trip out, just 15 minutes away. The hosts were very good with communication and the house was clean and very accommodating. I would recommend Raven House for a large family and friends getaway.

Great location, parking for 3 big cars. The house itself is spacious with comfy beds and good quality linen. Excellent for a larger gathering. The only downside was the kitchen, is a pretty poor standard and poorly equipped. Poor quality crockery ( no oven serving dishes) cutlery poor, glassware not great. We had an issue with the oven which was addressed, but was dangerous. A few small touches would take this property to the next level.

While the house is in a great location and was plenty big enough for the 8 of us that were staying ( it’s big not for 12) there were many things wrong - many of which have been noted in previous feedback from 6 months ago and no action has been taken to fix them. A list of issues: One toilet was not flushed and contained urine The glass in the oven door was loose and likely to fall out Dishwasher heater element not working so things didn’t dry Nowhere near enough cooking equipment for cooking meals for 8 let alone 12 people Several doors would not latch shut and didn’t have locks ( including the main bathroom - so you had to leave something heavy behind the door to ensure privacy Top floor en-suite door would not full close and had no handle on the inside - again a problem with privacy in the en-suite and the sliding door pelmet was falling off Damp marks on several ceilings from earlier leaks Several Cupboards and drawers with missing handles There is more but I have no more room

Very nice place on a very good location. Somewhat unfavorable is that 3 of the rooms do not have their own bathroom and have to share a bathroom on the 2nd floor. The cleanliness on arrival was ok but not outstanding. The dryer is broken as already described, and the dishwasher only cleans well to a limited extent. Cutlery had to be hand washed. Dishwashing. If you can get involved, it is still great place to stay and with an occupancy of 12. The price-performance ratio is also very good. Especially the living room and the dining room are great to spend time together and sit in front of the fireplace.

This property is absolutely stunning, so spacious, so peaceful and an ideal location, however, the property is not maintained to an acceptable standard. Not one single door in the property closes the way that it should, the carpet is coming away on the stairs causing a trip hazard, the dining table is scratched and full of holes, every drawer in the bedroom furniture is either broken, missing a knob, or coming away from the runner, there are light fitting missing in various rooms, the plug socket in one of the rooms comes away from the wall when removing a plug, the curtain pole in one of the rooms is so close to the ceiling you cannot close the curtains, some of the tie back holders have come away from the wall. Lastly, the property cannot have been "cleaned" prior to arrival. Admittedly the beds were made up and there was fresh towels, but there had been no dusting/sweeping/mopping carried out for quite some time. We are leaving the property cleaner than when we arrived...

Great house for a large party of 11 , needs maintenance here and there and a good clean in the kitchen , bathrooms , door handles , bedroom doors all need attention , curtain rails , I could go on , but we loved Robin Hood bay .

Loved the house and the location. All the rooms were very spacious including the hall. We appreciated the large fridge and freezer and the huge dining table for our group. The beds were comfy although recommend bringing own pillows - they were hard!! Place felt very dusty and in need of a deep clean. Bits on all the floors and there was mould in all the showers. We cleaned on arrival as we had young children crawling round and a newborn so it needed to be clean. Also worth mentioning the washing machine is in an outdoor shed and the tumble dryer didn’t work but there was a clothes airer that we set up in the porch. Despite these few issues we would still recommend- we had a wonderful week here

Great weekend with 6 couple. Beautiful views from some of the rooms. House was clean, nicely decorated but some issues. Disappointing issues previously highlighted have not been addressed. Loose glass in the cooker, broken extractor fan not working, dishwasher loose, broken corkscrew!!! No lock on bathroom door, some bathrooms very mouldy. Disappointing my request for single beds in one room to accommodate recent surgery not done and host stay said could not be done until following day, as bedding would have to be sourced. I would suggest taking your own washing up liquid and tea towels. As 6 couples we found one of the bedrooms too small, double bed squeezed in. No downstairs loo and main bathroom on top floor is not ideal. Would be better to lose a bedroom and create another bathroom. Some of the issues are very minor and would be so easy to rectify, have to wonder why they haven't been done. Lovely Sunday lunch at The Victoria, Pizza West in Whitby highly recommended.

Had the most amazing 4 days in such a beautiful house at the top of the bay overlooking the sea. Would definitely stay here again and 100% recommend. My family loved it as there are lots of places to eat & drink close by, with a nice pub a few doors down. 3 parking spaces making it easy as it sleeps 12.

We had a wonderful stay for Christmas at Raven House. The house has great indoor space, comfy beds and outstanding views. Watching sunrise and sunset from the front of the house everyday was really special. The house does require some attention in certain areas as previous reviews also refer to. A deep clean and some repair work and this would be absolutly perfect. All that being said it didnt impact too much on us enjoying our stay and we would definitely stay again.

A really lovely house in a fantastic location. Most of the rooms have a view of the sea and the sunrise across the bay is amazing if you're up in time. Beds are comfy and there are plenty of en-suites which is helpful for big groups. Recommend a walk to Boggle hole and the cafe there, but beware of the steps! Ate at the pub up the road which was nice and there are some lovely shops and cafes down the hill which will easily pass an afternoon. The only reason for our rating (which only just scraped a 4) is that there were lots of issues around general maintenance that need attention. Cutlery needs replacing, bedroom door fell off hinges, loose glass in oven, missing door handles in ensuite, dripping taps & squeaking doors. If the owner sorts these issues, then property would be perfect.

Perfect spot in Robin Hood Bay with easy access to the town, the coastal path, the beach and nearby pubs. The house is managed by a rental agency rather than a direct owner (we hired through Airbnb) which we found difficult when things did not go quite as expected. This included the tumble dryer not working, basic items in the kitchen not being available, hot water not working and the house not being properly cleaned prior to our arrival. I’d also suggest future visitors bring their own dog bowls (great the house is dog friendly) and nespresso pods if you fancy using the nespresso machine. The hot water was eventually fixed and caused by the cleaners using the boiler room as storage and over filling the space / knocking the timer off the wall. A super friendly engineer eventually came and fixed the problem to all of our great relief.

Loads of space, amazing views over the sea and lovely, luxurious bedrooms. This place is ideal for a big get together around the huge dining table and as a base for exploring the wonderful coastline and hills of North Yorkshire . There are just a few areas of maintenance that need attention in order to ensure the entire house feels ‘five star’.

We stayed at this property for a total of 3 nights and we were pleasantly surprised to find that a lot of the rooms had a direct view of the sea. It was truly stunning. The property is generally clean and decorated well but some rough edges are to be found here and here if you want to be extremely picky. For example, the bathroom seats in my en-suite room was loose. The extractor fan was also not working but making a really loud whirring noise. The only real gripe that I had with this property is that it was advertised with a functioning washing machine as well as the usual essentials that you’d expect in most places (hand soap etc) but neither was accurate. The washing machine was in a shed outside but the power was cut to the shed so the washing machine wouldn’t work. The hand soap wasn’t provided and we were told to purchase that ourselves. I do want to end on a positive note though because those were 2 small inconveniences. The property is in a beautiful location and the rooms are spacious. The property is generally very clean. It has decent wifi connection throughout the 3 floors of the house and even offers parking for up to 3 cars which was extremely important to us. I would recommend this place to others. You won’t be disappointed and I hope you’ll also have amazing summer weather like we did during our stay.
