Lovely clean house in a good location to access all Whitby's attractions. The kitchen was well equipped, but as previously mentioned in the reviews no basics ie salt and pepper were provided. Also there wasn't any shampoo as advertised in the description. It was great to have our own parking spot a short walk from the house. Another couple of things that we felt should have been mentioned were the steep uneven steps to access the house and the single beds are really only suitable for children. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would say that overall the house has an overall charm and quirkiness about it. We loved that ear plugs were provided for the noisy seagulls but to be expected at the sea side.

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at harbour mist cottage and we had a fantastic time. The cottage was very clean and has everything you need, well equipped kitchen, good size bathroom The location is ideal and only a short walk into the town. Overall we had a lovely time and would be happy to stay here again.

We had such a lovely stay! It is in a great location a few minutes walk right in the heart of Whitby. You can see the boats and marina out of the window. The house was spotless, really well cleaned, and cute maritime decor! We loved that it has 2 sitting rooms so rhe kids could watch a movie downstairs while we relaxed in the gorgeous upper sitting room. As others have said the 2nd bedroom with the single beds is only really suitable for children as the beds are small singles and the room is very small and with a sloping room. The beds are very comfortable with new, pristine, good quality mattresses (very important to us to sleep well!). The parking space is handy as it is hard to park in Whitby, but it is a short walk up the hill, so we had to stop and unload outside the house first.

Great place and location. This side of the bat has no corner shops and the place didnt have many essentials so make sure you get a shop in! Had a great time exploring Whitby Goth and Folk events. Great access to old town and the Abbey. Parking space was easy to find and communicate with the owners :) Tall people watch heads on top floor :D

Great place to stay for a few days right in the centre of Whitby with the benefit of parking. Clean and comfy. Only catch is the low ceilings in the small bedrooms. Would not be the best place for tall or large people.

We had such a wonderful stay here. From start to finish the whole process was wonderful. Booking and checking in was made so simple with the outstanding communication and fast response to messages. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and perfect for what we needed. Just be careful if your tall due to the beams in the bedrooms Location is perfect and comes with a space on a drive which is easy to find and the lady is lovely and will recommend place to go. I would definitely stop here again and definitely use Host and Stay again.

The location of the cottage is great. Good that there was a parking space available from an incredibly friendly lady but we didn’t need to use it as found space on the street. The space is small but well designed to fit everything you need in. It is a shame that it is a little tired & need of maintenance.

Really handy location. Very clean. Well appointed. We had some storm damage from Storm Any while we were there, but that wasn't an issue. Our only issue were the beds. They are not full length for some reason. We are 5ft 9in and 5ft 7in and the mattresses were too short, with our feet hanging over the edge of the bed. This was an issue for me as I had surgery on my ankle recently and the scar rubbed on the bead around the edge of the mattress. The bedrooms are small, but that's fine as it is an older property. But normal length mattresses would still fit in my opinion. It was an uncomfortable sleep. A 6-footer would really struggle. Otherwise, nice place

We stayed at Harbour Mist with our close friends for 3 nights and this house was a perfect place for our base. The space has been used really well for a small 3 story house, we ample living space and a lovely kitchen. The one thing I will say is that the 2nd bedroom with twin beds was a little small for adults , but it was still perfectly form alwith lovely linen and comfy beds. The addition of a washing machine was great for people who get muddy on lovely walks around the area. Another brilliant bonus was the allocated parking space up the road as it was extremely busy with on street parking throughout our stay. There is quite a hill to go up, but just take your time. Would definitely use the Harbour Mist again if we were going to stay in Whitby as a group.

Nice place very good for walking into Whitby. Great views from the house. As with lots of properties in Whitby quite a lot of stairs and steps so not good for anyone with accessibility issues. Parking is available for the property but it is quite a walk

We had a fantastic stay at harbour mist cottage. It was a short walk from the centre of Whitby. A good location as not too noisy with a good view of the river and town. The host was very helpful with communications about the property and check in and out. The house was quirky with lovely furniture and decor. I would love to stay there again.

The location was fine, the house needed maintenance, and simple things like hand wash and kitchen roll weren't provided. Also, if you want to get sleep have a word with the seagulls.

The house was a very pleasant place to stay to explore Whitby. The house is comfortable and modern but with a bit of much-needed Whitby quirkiness to it. It’s a quiet area but only a short walk to the centre of town. The lady who owns the parking spot you can use is very pleasant. It’s a few minutes walk away up a hill so we dropped off luggage first and then went to park.

Lovely, cozy and clean house in a good location. The decor was very tasteful and homely, the beds were comfortable and the shower was great! The house is better in real life than the pictures! The kitchen was well equipped for cooking a proper meal (however no salt, pepper or oil provided, which I’d come to expect in rented houses, so take your own). We parked on the road just a short walk from the cottage which was easy enough. It was also a pleasant and easy walk into town. Overall this was a great place for 2 adults and 2 kids. I didn’t receive the check-in instructions prior to arrival so had to call for these. We also didn’t appear to have an outside bin (after much searching) so were advised to leave rubbish for housekeeping to dispose of. But my queries were dealt with promptly.

We had an awesome stay at this cottaged. Loved the quirkiness of the cottage and the two lounges were great! Great creativity when it comes to storage space in the bedroom. 10 min walk into Whitby and close to all local amenities! Would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back at some point in the future 🙂

We had a lovely few days at Harbour cottage. We weren’t lucky enough to get a parking space but the allocated space was a short walk away (up hill as described) and the lovely lady was super helpful. We had an issue locking the front door from the inside but I think the lock just needed tightening with an Allan key. We managed. Tap in kitchen needs tightening up but still worked fine. Just a short walk from all of the seaside fun but quiet enough on an evening to relax. Loved the decor, comfy beds, lovely oven, great shower!!! Thanks for having us.

Conveniently located for central Whitby. Nicely decorated, looked as advertised. The website for host and stay was very useful. Parking was a bit tricky, as we had to unload in the street. There was an allocated space but a bit of a walk. This would have been the same anywhere in Whitby we imagine, with it being a busy tourist destination. Overall, really enjoyed our stay.

A great place for a family holiday - the location is perfect for a stroll into Whitby but away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Having two separate living rooms is perfect for setting up an X Box in one and an adult space in the other! The Nespresso machine was a lovely touch and the well-equipped kitchen made meal prep a breeze ; the attention to detail was impressive - good wine glasses and quality towels made us feel welcome. Overall a great choice for a break. Be sure to head to Staithes for a fossil hunt - much fun was had!

This little place was a lovely find . Everywhere was spotless, comfortable and tidy. It was a short walk into town and the harbour /beach which was great as we didn’t want to use the car all the time. We all slept well too , the bed was nice and comfortable. The shower was always nice and hot, And to have two cosy living rooms was a plus as my daughter wanted to watch her programs and we could chat in the other room . The only thing we couldn’t find on checking out was the bin. There were instructions as to where it was on the pedal bin so I went outside both alleyways but couldn’t find a number 7 bin , every other number but ! … never mind , there was a bin next to the bus stop that we used, all good . First time visiting Whitby and it won’t be the last. We had a couple of lovely sunsets and managed the 199 steps up to the Abbey. Thanks so much hope to see you soon

Super little house, beautifully furnished. We had a great time here. Parking sometimes not possible, so had to park up the hill a couple of times (5/10 min walk). Careful not to bump your head in the top bedrooms - happened to us a few times 😊. But house excellent value for money and we were very warm and cosy here . Loved our time in Whitby, what a place ! 😀

Great location, well equipped kitchen and twin lounge areas. Nicely decorated with the exception of the shower which could do with a deep clean. No heating in bathroom or kitchen so perhaps not the place for deep winter, but the upstairs lounge was nice and snug. As previous reviews have mentioned there are steep and uneven steps up to the property, and the bedrooms are height restricted in areas, but the location and available off-road parking was very convenient and we had a lovely time.

The house is in a convenient location (with car parking round the corner helpful) and you can walk into Whitby in a few minutes but still be assured of a peaceful night's sleep. Really comfy beds and well appointed throughout, but an outdoor light would be handy. The place is compact and if you have mobility issues this is not the place for you - the house is set back and up from the main road and accessible via stone steps - but overall we really enjoyed its character and quirky charm.

Location very handy for central Whitby. Parking - got lucky by arriving well in advance of check-in and waiting nearby until a space became available for free on street parking near the property. There is an arrangement for free off street parking at a house on a housing estate which is about 5 minutes drive away up a steep hill. We didn’t use it only as felt it was impractical to park there and carry luggage etc to/from the cottage - nice offer though as appreciate parking is at a premium in town. The cottage is well equipped and furnished with no external noise disturbance at all. Mind your head in upstairs bedrooms!

Absolutely beautiful cottage. We loved how close to the centre we were and getting harbour views was an added bonus. The decor and interior arrangement was perfect. We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave. The kitchen was equipped and roomy for cooking. Small dishwasher was a nice touch so we didn’t have to do washing up while away. The sofas and living spaces were super comfortable. And one of my favourite parts were the beds were so comfortable we all slept so well. Thank you harbour mist we will definitely come back again 😊

The living accommodation in this place is truly fabulous and the choice of spaces to chill out was refreshing for the local area, as was having access to a parking space. The place is finished to a high standard and the hosts have thought of everything - including the small touches like a handy Nespresso machine in the kitchen. The upper floor proved more of a challenge for us with height restrictions and space in bedrooms and upper bathroom.

The cottage has been renovated to a high & contemporary standard. We couldn’t believe how much was done to a small cottage to make it into holiday accommodation . Host & Stay were available to us throughout and were most helpful. Although very lovely, the cottage is not for people with any kind of mobility issues as it is spread over three floors with steps throughout, the outside requires climbing steep steps and the car parking, with lovely people in the area, is an uphill walk away. We had a lovely few days away.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Harbour Mist Cottage. it was clean and beautifully presented. The location was superb, a short walk to Whitby centre. We've stayed in a few airbnbs and with this one we were surprised by the lack of basics. For example, there was no pepper, no cooking oil and only three toilet rolls for two bathrooms. On a more positive note we loved the touch of shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. The bedrooms are beautiful and the bed linen was pristine. The bedrooms have sloped ceilings, but this wasn't a problem for us as we are not that tall! This property really is a beautiful retreat in the centre of Whitby and we would definitely return.

My sister and I spent three days at this wonderful house, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms, lots of creative storage. We used the upstairs living room, as next to kitchen and bathroom, view of the harbour. Nice short walk along riverside into town, near restaurants and swing bridge. Nice attic bedrooms upstairs with small bathroom (toilet and sink) between. Would love to return soon, and would highly recommend.

Beautiful, clean and quirky. A great wee house for my son and me for a few days. Everything is a positive but parking the car was difficult: the pavement outside was always full and the neighbour with whom the host had a driveway sharing arrangement had no space. But I'm nit picking there.

fab quirky house opposite the harbour in Whitby. accommodation over 3 floors, lovely lounge area and kitchen, fab bathroom. bedrooms on top floor , tall people need to take care as lots of low beams. 5 mins walk into the centre of whitby so nice and quiet on an evening. perfect for a long weekend. just a note about parking, the car parking space with the property is just round the corner, we unloaded on the pavement on the main road, a bit of faff, fine if you are able bodied. not much other free parking that we could find. However car park a few minutes walk away isn't too expensive for a weekend ticket.

A well presented holiday cottage in a great location in Whitby. Walking distance to the town and harbour. A few things to keep in mind with this property is that there are a few steps (to get up to and inside the house) so could be tricky for older guests. The parking outside is also on a first come basis so you may not always be parked closed to the house.
