The location was very central (no on site parking however)
The beds were comfortable and the bed linen clean.
The top bedroom has blackout blinds and is quiet.

The cleanliness was poor. As you walked up the garden, it was overgrown, there was a plant pot full of cigarette ends, the front door itself was filthy. There was lots of post and flyers behind the door. On the surface it appeared clean but the floor in the lounge and kitchen (wooden) was very dirty. There was no toilet roll, no bin bags. The complimentary biscuits were out of date.
The house felt cool. We could not find any instructions on how to use heating or the hob. The hob is induction and we never got to use it at all it was completely baffling.
There was no hand wash in the 2 bathrooms.
The yard was dirty, there outside furniture was dirty. Every window has bird poo on. Windowsills were dusty.
Cobwebs in corners.
Rotting dead bird in the front garden
Empty coffee jar on the outside furniture full of cigarettes end.

Backyard needs a clean and spruce up to be useable, including the chairs and table.

It was situated perfectly and value for money and clean

No toilet roll in main bathroom no cloths or sponges to clean dishes or cups also when sat outside in the courtyard having a few drinks smoking & talking was shouted at by a resident who then put a note through the letter box next morning saying we were disgraceful & threatened us with the police I have kept the note if you want me to send it to you other than that it was a lovely house would go there again

Brilliant location. Biscuits, teabags, coffee. 2 bathrooms. Spacious living area and lovely nicely finished rooms

Not enough toilet rolls. Lighting in bedrooms a bit dim when getting ready. Back yard could be improved...swept and weeded. Showers are a bit 'tight' for larger people

Great location although no parking. We found some parking a little walk away. The house is well equipped. Beds were very comfortable and bedding and towels were really lovely quality.

Shower in the first floor bathroom was a bit temperamental. Also only 1 toilet roll between 4 of us so we bought additional rolls and left them at the property. There was no washing up liquid and an empty box of dishwasher tablets which was disappointing.

It had 3 bedrooms but the living space wasn't enough for 6 adults. The dining table could hardly fit the space for all 6 of us to sit around and there wasn't enough sofa space for 6

The house was clean and comfortable, only a few yards from the old part of Whitby. The beds were very comfortable. Although we ate out and only made cups of tea the kitchen seemed well equipped.

Although wifi was offered in the notes it was a very erratic signal, which meant that we could not watch TV or use our tablets. As we don't spend a lot of time out in the evening this was very disappointing. I did have a messaged conversation with the owners about this but the problem was not resolved.
I also suggest that a little attention to the yard space (geraniums in planters, a spot of paint on the walls?) would make a massive difference.

Good location as you step out of the front door and are virtually in the town centre. The en suite shower was good.

The main bathroom shower could be better. A full length mirror in one of the bedrooms would be nice. People randomly walking through the back year. I know you can't control this but PARKING!!! It's a nightmare.

Fantastic location and property in the heart of Whitby let down slightly by a poor management company. Please read the small print before booking as they ask for an extortionate waver fee just a few days before check-in which is not made completely clear in the description as to what amount it is. This was despite paying in full. They were asking for a partly refundable £250 deposit which is a huge amount for anyone to stump up just before arriving. What I also didn’t like was that they hold your money and have sole discretion as to whether they give it back or not for any ‘damages’.
Despite this, the property itself is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone.
When we arrived there was no toilet roll, cleaning sponges, dishwasher tablets, and regular tea so be prepared to bring your own as soon as you check-in.

Location, room space and proximity to the town.

Slipped a few times on doormat as not stuck to floor and on a tiled surface! Needs a rubber backing to stick. Parking a bit of an issue as car park opposite was full and it was pouring down.

Well equipped, good quality furnishings.

No waste paper bin in bedroom. Could do with a shelf in the top en suite. A chair in the bedroom would have been nice for makeup etc.
could do with two dishwasher tablets or some washing up liquid.

Great location and clean. Unfortunately there was no dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid dish cloth or bi bags. In the grand scheme of things it wasn’t an issue but we forgot to buy washing up liquid whilst out and then couldn’t clean the dishes.

Location was great as we could walk everywhere easily. Well equipped overall. Obviously recently decorated. Lots of room in the lounge and the added bonus of a small room with a small sofa and a TV on the first floor which the grandchildren claimed as their den.
I have listed a number of minor items that can be easily addressed to make the house perfect, however, I'd still recommend the house and would return.

Overall the cleanliness was good, but I felt this was largely because the house was obviously recently refurbished/decorated. More attention to detail is needed.

> Packet of vitamin drink mix and hairband on floor next to bedside table (smaller bedroom on first floor) so obviously not

> Smelly and very dirty mop in kitchen cupboard
> Approx. half a toilet roll in each of the 2 bathrooms (info said these were provided, luckily I took spares)
> No bin liner in kitchen bin, and none available
> Rear garden just concrete with weeds in areas. Weeding and maybe a few lights and a couple of pots would have made
a real difference.
> Only 4 or 5 pegs on line.

An excellent location and the house was comfy and had all you needed.

The outside of the property and the windows looked dirty and on first arrival caused some panic over whether we had made the right choice in staying. The front door was also wide open when we arrived but no one in the property which did worry us.

We enjoyed our time at Whitby, and were mostly pleased with our accommodation. The townhouse is right in the mix of things, off of a busy street with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. The bedrooms and living spaces were comfortable. We had some difficulty with the kitchen; the stovetop was quite finicky, switching off during cooking, or not turning on at all. That was unfortunate as we did cook during our stay. We called Host & Stay for help and they were not very helpful, saying they would send someone to take a look and then never doing so. That was the main disappointment of ours for the space, when we called Host & Stay for help with the stovetop, and a request for some simple missing items (e.g. trashcans for the bathrooms), they did not send anyone. We also found parking difficult. The nearby lot was always full and so we had to park at the top of the hill, near the Abby, an arduous and inconvenient walk (though likely less problematic outside of the busy August holiday).

The property was lovely.
The location was perfect.
The rooms were perfect.

The only issue we had was the lack of on site parking. This curtailed the possibility of us going out for a few hours, because once we had secured a parking space at Church Street car park after a 90 minute wait after a long journey, we didn't want to give it up. If it had been raining on arrival and departure, transferring our belongings from and to the car would have been unpleasant. The additional cost of £9 per day was also not ideal.
The lack of parking was not made clear when I initially booked the property.

the house was centrally located for visiting Whitby, very clean and well appointed with very comfortable beds.

It was very difficult to get parked , any where close to the property.
