Had a fantastic stay and the accommodation was excellent, it had everything you needed for a perfect stay away, it was like being at home away. And the sun shone. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be back

Great location in the centre of Whitby, perfect for our short stay and would definitely come back. Nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Host was quick to respond to any questions we had. It was a little difficult to find by car as the road is blocked with bollards until 4pm, so if you have an early check in you need to be aware of that, but the advantage was there is no traffic to worry about

Location is brilliant and handy for us as we had a pram. There is a noticeable smell when you walk into the property, the place feels like it could do with a deep deep clean. There is a card to say it had been cleaned but difficult to see where this had taken place. We walked into a water problem from the top floor shower. Maybe a brief description of the steep stairs would be helpful for future guests to make sure it is for them especially when booking asks if any infants. Also elderly would not manage and the steepness was a surprise for us. Overall the cleanliness is lacking and I feel this let needs to have a better description before booking. We had an enjoyable stay just maybe a little blinkered to the environment around us.

Ten minutes after we arrived at the cottage we heard noise outside, opened door and another family were trying to enter the property. It had been double booked, so we spent an hour trying contact someone to sort the problem. Not much help whatsoever. The other family managed to arrange somewhere else to stay thankfully. Wouldn’t recommend the place either, way too noisy until three in the morning minimum. Bed on the first floor was broken, the shower in the attic leaks down through the wall to the staircase. The windows were filthy.

The home was a great little space for those wanting to be in a prime Whitby location. Plenty of facilities within the kitchen and lovely light in the top-level bedroom from the windows. Maybe not the perfect location/space for us as guests, but pleasant all the same.

Great location, neat & comfortable home. Stairs are a bit tight. But everything else was well equipped. Really close to everything. Parking (paid) can be found near the harbor

Great central location. Not the quietest but very local to centre of Whitby. Glad didn’t take dog. Also parking we hired someone’s drive for the stay rather than street or NCP parking. If any mobility or fitness issues the internal stairs steep and narrow. Ideal for two adults and daughter. Nice toilet and shower attached to each bedroom. Lots of hot powerful water.

A very clean high spec cosy little cottage in the centre of Whitby, easy walking distance to all Whitby has to offer. Surprisingly quiet inside despite location - only downside was noisy pigeons on the roof during the night. We easily found on street parking nearby after unloading in the Railway station car park

This place is disappointing and unclean. The location is good, tucked away down a small alley, in a very central location, literally steps from Whitby harbour and town centre. On arrival it was immediately noticeable that the place was unloved. The whole property was really dusty, I mean dusty! It really wasn’t the cleanest place, as a ex-hotel inspector, I would rate it 2/5. Dusty, stained and dirty carpets, seating is dirty, cushions on the bed and sofa dirty, shower extractor thick in dust! Bed on the first floor needs replacing or at least sort the wobbly legs! The benches at the dining table wobble. The smoke detector in the top floor bedroom constantly beeps, makes for a great nights sleep! Not! The only real positive I can give the place is its location. However, that said, we still had a good couple of nights here. The place is up for sale and the owner has clearly lost interest and is not looking after it! Real shame, as it could be lovely. We wouldn’t return.

Great location, close to station, shops and the quay. The main room is compact - as described - but works well, and the bedrooms are more spacious, each with a very nice en-suite shower room.

We had a lovely stay! It's a nice house in a good location easy to get to the train station and the town centre. Comfortable beds, lots of sockets and a cosy sofa/dining area!

The location needs to be clearly stated...especially for anyone staying with children and plenty of luggage, the house is down an alleyway and not obvious from description. The house is in a great location for exploring Whitby and the bathrooms and shower are lovely. There was quite alot of noise especially on the Saturday night as there was a pub at the end of the alley. The 1st bed was awful and felt we couldn't move in it incase it would collapse and the downstairs is alot smaller than we thought. The bathrooms were done nicely with a really good shower. Anyone staying with children really needs to consider staying here due to the stairs, very steep. We had to stay in different bedrooms with the children incase they woke during the night as we didn't want them trying to walk the stairs by themselves. If your looking for something literally 23 steps from the main street in whitby this is perfect but we probably wouldn't stay again

A lovely little cottage in a great central location. Very well equipped and stylish. Fab bathrooms and always good to have 2. Worth noting stairs are steep, and bed on the first floor not very comfy.

i was very unhappy that I had to park in a unsafe area. on the overview of the property it stated that were was on premises parking and there was not. I was stressing so much about my car that I couldn't sleep and had to check on it all throughout my stay. the bedroom on the middle floor wasn't great. the bed felt broken and my partner didn't sleep well at all.

Comfortable, well-equipped, centrally situated. This accommodation suits 2 people plus dog rather than the 4 it sleeps as the kitchen/diner/sitting room is very compact. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep so not suitable for those who have mobility issues. Parking is nearby & you can easily drop off/collect luggage at the back end of the alley when that road is accessible.

Lovely little cottage in a great location to town. Bear in mind you will need to park away from the cottage and carry your stuff a bit of a distance, we took hold alls but think if we'd have known this i would have taken wheeled suit cases. Once we got sorted realised the cottage is in a great location for the harbour, the bridge that crosses to the old town and to the bars and restaurants. The cottage decoration is lovely, and although it is small it was perfect for me, my husband and our dog. I would definitely return if i go back to Whitby.

The cottage is in an ideal location, everything is right on your door step but this makes it a little noisy on a night but didn’t affect our stay. The cottage is snug and I would say ideal for a couple, we did take the dog but I wouldn’t recommend..very steep stairs and no garden. The house overall was clean but definitely could be cleaner IE bathrooms and fridge and bed sheets..other than that I can’t complain for the price..only negative feedback I can provide. Perfect for a couple to get sometime away.

Grumbles cottage overall was lovely, if a little 'snug' for 4 adults. It was a little confusing when the Sat nav said we'd arrived as I didn't realise it was down an alley. I expected on road parking-maybe my not fully understanding the location, but we had to pay over £30 to park for the weekend. It was very clean, although paint a little chipped here and there. One of the beds was very comfy, the other (1st floor), was too soft for us. The bedrooms could also use some drawers, there is space, and the bathroom definitely needs shelves. The stairs are very steep and not for the faint hearted, although we knew that. Ideally placed for walking to town, although there was a little noise from local pubs. We ate at The Vault restaurant which was outstanding. Overall a lovely stay and would stay again.

We left early and found somewhere else to stay. The place was filthy, even after being forced to pay a £60 cleaning fee. Dirty walls, damp, smelly fridge, chipped walls, drainage problems and broken bed. Neighbours fighting next door, angry exchanges, plates smashing etc. Not a safe place for young children.

I felt the location was brilliant. Quiet. and close to everything . The inside of the property was a little smaller than I thought. The stairs had not been hoovered in ages and were quite steep and uneven, especially at the top. had to go down sideways. would be good for a young couple with no pets. the description did not say there would be a back yard but I thought there would be. so no where for dogs to go, it's a back to back property with only the front door. The rest of the property was clean. it's suitable for a weekend break. I would go back but without the dog.

Great place to stay! Perfect location literally a few minutes walking distance to everything. Only downside was the parking however we got lucky to park at the train station for the duration of our trip (although it cost us £30 for the whole time).

We had a great stay in Whitby. The only problem we had was before the stay. From start to arrival I kept finding more charges and problems with parking. I was told the price to stay each day. Then when you go through to pay you get a cleaning charge that was not mentioned. Ok then a few days before we leave I get a damaged charge which I have not paid before. Then on the day we leave to go to whitby we are told that I can not park outside the property as it said I could. I parked across the road at £10 a day. The free parking that we did find cards for in the property was for to far away . We loved the house very comfortable, and a great location in whitby. Had a good time. But not happy with run up to going.

Lovely little place. Not much space in living area but a traditional old cottage renovated to a very good standard. Bed comfortable and sheets lovely and fresh as was the towels. Nice little extras such as milk, coffee, tea and plenty of toilet paper. All nice touches that you don’t always find. Music from Station Inn on Friday night was a bit loud but all quiet at 11.30 pm so not a big deal at all. Definitely recommend and will be back to stay again!

Lovely little spot in the heart of Whitby walking distance to all the spots you want to visit, struggled with communication early on but believe this was due to a technical issue. Once fixed everything went smoothly

The negatives are late check in and early check out. 4 pm check in reflects most of the day you cant even enjoy the accomodation youve paid for . If people have to check out at 10 am why cant you get in until 4pm ? It doesnt take 6 hours to clean up! Also car parking means having to hump cases and children quite a distance to and from the car to house. The steep stairs are a safety issue involving children or anyone slightly infirm and should be emphasised accordingly. The good points are location for walking around Whitby and its clean , but cleanliness is to be expected of any air bnb.

We really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was lovely, however we found it really stressful finding the place and unloading if you arrive in a car due to the fact that the cottage is in an alley way and to unload you have to negotiate a pedestrian precinct. This wasn’t made clear to us as the online guide doesn’t really explain adequately how to find the place. We had to get my wife to find the place whilst we negotiated a busy town centre. We then had to park in the station car park and run our bags across the road. Parking after we had unloaded was really hard to come across. We had to park the car nearly a mile away from the cottage. We were travelling with our elderly relatives and there is no way that they would have been able to park that far away and then walk back. This cottage would be best suited to travellers who are either younger or are travelling by train. Also there wasn’t enough cutlery for 4 people and there was no hand wash in either of the 2 bathrooms.

Really lovely cottage in the centre with everything within walking distance, perfect for our overnight stay however due to the location we wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer. We were aware it could be noisy but hadn’t thought how warm it would be when unable to open the windows. Apart from that it was spotlessly clean and in a great location

The cottage straight away was impressive , lovely decor, kitchen & 2 bathrooms were good. Location was probably ideal fir Whitby. Very peaceful and quiet yet nearly on top of where you need to be. Amenities were good with everything we needed fir three nights also a local supermarket within 3 minute walk if you’ve forgotten anything . Would definitely stay here again and use host and stay in the future

I loved the place and its décor and the location. We stayed only one night but it would have been perfect for a longer stay, the space was good and it was equipped with everything you may need, even a dishwasher. We were 2 couples and a baby and having a common space but 2 bathroom was amazing. Only down point was that I found hair on the sink and the floor in one of the bathroom and the carpet hadn't been hoovered properly, with bits all over; apart for that it was clean.

Perfect location opposite the harbour, the only thing for us was the noise at night as it’s right next to a lively bar and trying to find it and get everything to the house was a bit of a nightmare but having been there if we were to go again would be easier! This place would be perfect for a girls weekend or a boys weekend as you are right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle! The other great thing is you have everything you could possibly need right on your doorstep The harbour A big co-op Dominoes Bars and restaurants The high street Definitely worth checking out

We had a member family rushed into hospital we notified the company and asked for a full refund and offered to show proof of what happened. We was told we would have a response within 24hrs they finally responded 3 days later after the point that we would have been able to have any sort of a refund. We chased them every day asking for a answer. I wouldn’t book again with this company next time I will stick with Skyes…. Better the devil you know

Wonderful place to stay, beautiful decoration! Very central and close to all attractions and shops, but this does mean there was bit of noise from the next door pub on the Friday night but that’s to be expected with the central location. Very close to the train station and there’s lots of parking nearby. Co-op is right opposite also. Lots of amenities in the kitchen and the bathrooms and beds were very comfy. Overall great stay

The house was in a great location as you literally stepped out into restaurants and bars. It was also great having two ensuite bedrooms of decent sizes. There were a couple of downsides but not enough to reduce the value for money. Firstly, the convenience of being close to bars and pubs also means that it is very loud at night! Secondly, the house felt like it needed a bit of tlc in places.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. Although compact, the cottage felt luxurious. The positioning couldn’t be more central - it was lovely to easily pop back to the cottage throughout the day. This did however make for a not so peaceful stay, particularly in the evenings. We were aware of the location beforehand, so we were prepared for this, and it didn’t spoil our holiday.

Smaller than expected, parking not great which was a pain but the co-op opposite is £10 a day so wasn’t too far away. Stairs are slightly dangerous, wouldn’t recommend if taking kids/baby. Had a couple of issues with the electrics when first got there but they got it sorted for us very quickly. Other than that an enjoyable experience, would just suit a couple more than a family
