Overall happy with our stay, there were a few large cobwebs on the wall, one in the en suite and the grout in the shower in the en suite could do with a good clean. It’s a great location close to shops and restaurants, very nicely decorated with most things you’d need. No pods for the coffee machine and no instant coffee either which is a little stingy. I’d recommend the cottage to family and friends.

Great location in Whitby, right next to a lovely street of shops and bars. No more than a 5 minute walk from all key areas and therefore the best part of this stay. The home is a really nice space, plenty of space for us with a baby and our dog. The only suggestion for improvement would be the cleanliness of the place which had significant dog hair on the sofa, a plaster underneath the bath and fairly dusty in places. It didnt worry us too much but I know others that wouldn't have been so keen! Overall I would recommend staying here - its very convenient and the long stay car park is close enough also!

Very high spec , very clean and tidy . Every thing you could want for . Just one thing on the negative, there were only 3 tea bags and three individual milk sachets ! For a 4 person accommodation.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Comfy beds, lovely bathroom and kitchen and cosy living area. Really well thought out space. Only suggestions would be - be a little clearer on the parking options. There is a long stay car park at west cliff - parking permits were mentioned and when I asked I was just referred to the digital house guide ( which didn’t cover parking permits). And 2 coffee pods for a booking of 4 - first world problem - but seems a bit stingy!

Penny Farthing Cottage is a wonderful vacation rental. The space is beautifully laid out with all amenities needed for a great stay. It is extremely walkable to many pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend to future guests

We stayed here for a few days while attending a wedding and really enjoyed our time. The house was just like the photos — clean, tidy, and well equipped with everything we needed. The living room was cosy, the kitchen spotless (the dishwasher was a big plus!), and the bedrooms were comfortable and nicely presented. The only small thing to mention is that there wasn’t an anti-slip mat in the ensuite shower, so we just had to be a little careful. The location is excellent, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and the beach is only about a 10-minute walk. Just note that there’s no parking at the property, but there’s a car park about five minutes away. The house is down a narrow cobbled street, so we dropped our bags off first and then parked — which worked fine. Overall, the accommodation was perfect for our stay — clean, comfortable, and well thought-out. We’d happily stay here again.

We had a great stay at Penny Farthing cottage. Location is fantastic with pubs and restaurants in walkable distance. The cottage is lovely with everything you need - the little touches such as body wash / shampoo was a great touch plus the dog shower outside was very useful after a run around for the dogs on the beach! Would stay again.

We loved our short stay in Whitby. The only issue we had was with parking. The instructions were a bit vague and road suggested is for only 24 hours. There is a sign at the beginning of the road which isn’t visible when driving as it is above the car, which resulted in us getting a ticket. We parked at the West Cliff carpark which us a short walk away.

Beautiful interior. Was easy to find and close to all the amenities we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay again and great to know there is a shower in the courtyard for the dogs if we were to bring them next time. The kitchen had everything we needed and there were clear instructions for the bins too. Beautiful place, would definitely recommend.

Great location in walking distance of beach and shops etc. Very clean and comfortable for 4 people. Not much equipment for cooking and a few coffee pods, tea bags and long life milk. Also note that the check in is not until 4pm and check out is 10am. It’s through a company so several very long automated messages received before and during stay.

Great place, near everything- shops, beach, restaurants etc. the house was beautiful and spotless! Only downside was to park and unload due to an extremely narrow road, But would definitely stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a great stay. A beautiful spacious property and in a great location close by to shops, restaurants and pubs. Check in was easy with a key lock box. The google streetview for the address shows the next street over but the actual street and house is much nicer than what appears on maps!

Our stay at Penny Farthing Cottage was brilliant! Location was fab only a short walk to the beach, pubs and restaurants. The cottage was sparkly clean absolutely spotless! The dog shower in the back yard was a nice touch for muddy paws! The hosts looked after us and we only had to ask if we needed anything We would definitely stay here again

Beautiful cottage, centrally located but up a quiet side street. Very tight for car unloading, parking on West Cliff free at this time of year. There were a few tea bags,coffee sachets and milk portions to welcome us. Basics such as hand soap and a small shower gel sachet provided.

We stayed here for a week over Christmas and it was lovely. The cottage is within very short walking distance of Whitby town centre and minute's from the beach and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds and furniture were lovely and comfortable and the cottage was spotless. We would highly recommend and will return here.

The cottage is lovely, very clean, as advertised. The ‘Host and Stay’ company they use was a really frustrating experience. - Wrong keysafe code given. - Excessive non-airbnb checks - Extra damage waiver deposit payments required - 6 lengthy messages during our 1-night stay Excessive cleaning fee of £60. We pay half that at home for a larger house.
