Great place to stay for our family gathering to celebrate a birthday and New year. Plenty room, cosy for 6 adults and 2 dogs. Bellingham is a lovely quaint, friendly village. Enjoyed food and drinks in local pubs, lovely walk to Hareshaw Linn waterfall.

The cottage is beautifully decorated, with some great furnishings and real attention to detail when it comes to interior design - really quite impressive! However upon arrival we found that it was clear no one had been in the property for quite some time - the kitchen was strewn with what we deemed to be decorative items from the surrounding shelves and walls, with the kitchen dining table covered in dust and debris from the items, and the floor covered in paint flecks and debris. It came to light that clearly it had been freshly decorated which is great, but no one had come to clean up afterward! We also found in the bathtub in the bathroom it was filled to the brim with coat hangers and towels, as well as dust and debris over the beds again from decorative items - however I have to say that I would imagine this is just a one off - as everything else really was pristine - with a lovely village also to walk in to and gift shops / pubs /cafes etc. A truly cosy cottage x

As soon as we entered the home we were taken aback by how cosy and stylish it was; the photos don’t do it justice. We found everything we needed at the house and were comfortable throughout our stay. We booked to visit Kielder Winter Wonderland, which is a short drive away. The home was much better value than the cabins at Kielder for this time of year and being in Bellingham there are more shops and places to eat. Would stay again.

We had a great stay at Fox Cottage. Host & Stay properties are always clean and nicely decorated. This one was also better equipped than a lot, especially in the kitchen which had more than enough cutlery and cooking utensils. Beds were very comfy too

Think you need to mention the downstairs toilet as this is a real benefit for a group of 6…. We didn’t read anywhere that it had one. Anyway it was a great place… thank you very much.

Had a fabulous stay with family. The cottage was lovely, spacious and had everything there that we needed. It had some lovely walks around it. Had a few village bars / restaurants around it also for those who want to venture out. Overall a fantastic stay thank you.

Well decorated and a lovely area within a 2 minute walk to a great little town with plenty to do. Unfortunately, whoever cleaned the place before we arrived did not do a great job, we spent much of the first night hoovering and dusting. Apart from this I would recommend the stay if they were to improve the cleanliness

Great cottage, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Quiet and peaceful, great local amenities. Would recommend visiting Kielder Water and Forest, and the Pheasant Inn for dinner, both an easy drive, with the the Pheasant Inn located on the drive back to the cottage from Kielder. Great local takeaways, three pubs, a wonderful railway tea room next door to the Heritage Centre, a well stocked Co-op in Bellingham. We walked just 10 minutes to the Riverdale Hall Hotel for a wonderful dinner on our last evening too. We were a party of five adults and a toddler and this accommodation was perfect for us. We were staying in the area for a family wedding, so only booked for four nights, but it wasn't long enough as we loved the cottage and area and will hopefully be returning to both next year!

The house is lovely and matches the description and photographs. It’s in a beautiful location and the neighbours were friendly and helpful. We were unable to get in the key safe on our second day, the neighbour called the owner who came as soon as possible. Tea, coffee, sugar were left in the kitchen for use and shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathrooms. There was plenty of hot water available and we were able to run both baths at the same time. We found the beds comfortable, however the bedroom with the bath in it, the wooden bed slats weren’t securely in place and we needed to lift the mattress and put the slats back in. The sofa was really comfy, theres plenty of good quality cutlery and crockery in the kitchen too. The pub only a few minutes walk away (The Black Bull) served excellent food. There’s a river close by with a nice walk and a local playground for the kids. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would return.

House was decorated beautifully. Large corner sofa, quite big for the room as we needed space for two dog beds too. Kitchen a good size. Courtyard garden to front with parking at the side which would fit two cars. No back garden, but knew that before booking. 5 minute walking distance to shops and pub/restaurants as well as the river. Good brewery too. Friendly village people. Owner was quick to respond to any queries during our stay.

A lovely cottage to stay in! The cottage was clean and well kept. Great that we could bring the dog as well. I was completing the Northumbrian Triathlon at Kielder and this accommodation was perfect for that. 15 minute drive to Kielder. Lots of nice pubs and restaurants in the village as well.

We had a wonderful stay in Bellingham. Close to Kielder and a big enough village to have some shops, walks and cafes. A cosy home with everything as described, even a coffee machine which was not listed! We enjoyed the slipper bath and beauty products too. We love the area and would happily return.

Spent our family christmas here, there were 6 adults and 3 dogs. The place felt spacious with room for all of us and a great enclosed front yard for the dogs. The house is in a lovely location with local amenities and beautiful walks very nearby. Will hopefully stay again!

The most stunning house and perfect for what we needed. We spent 5 nights here over Christmas and there was everything needed at the house to be able to do so. The whole place is decorated to such a high standard and the small village has a few pubs, a butchers, co-op & a couple of take aways. The closest big supermarket is around 30 minutes away in Hexham, we even got an Indian one night and the food was great. The baths were amazing, the shower was great and all the beds were comfortable. We just had 2 niggles 1. there is no outside lighting and given it's dog friendly we only had our phone torches to see after 4pm or before 8am. 2. there wasn't a 'dryer' there was a clothes horse but not a dryer as mentioned in the description which wouldn't have been suitable given the time of year. Outside of this the house was cosy, warm, and well equipped. It would be perfect for a girls trip or a family which we did as there is space for everyone to have their own space as well.

We recently spent a weekend here, and it was lovely. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed, making it feel cozy and welcoming. The host was proactive and provided clear, helpful instructions for the cottage. The gated front area was perfect for our dogs—we felt completely at ease letting them enjoy the secure space. Bellingham and its surroundings were charming. The locals were friendly, we enjoyed the Hareshaw Linn Walk and had great food and drinks at the Black Bull Hotel—fantastic quality and value. Overall, we’d all happily stay here again in the future.

The place is beautiful and there’s a cat over the road that will 100% come and hang out with you in the garden which is super cute. The location is good as long as you have a car and is within half an hour of all the things you’d want to do. Only downside is that this company charges you a refundable but large safety deposit or a small but non refundable safety deposit which it turns out isn’t actually allowed but they won’t release the key code to the lock box until you pay it.

Fox Cottage made for a fantastic weekend stay, so much so my daughter wanted to live there! It had been a few years since I/we had been to the village, so the addition of First & Last Brewery/Tap Room and the new coffee shop, LUNCH, next door to the Co-op were both an added bonus. The car never moved from checking-in to checking-out, so we just made the most of the beautiful surroundings including the Hareshaw Linn walk. I'm sure we'll be back before long!

Fox Cottage is in a peaceful cul-de-sac off the main road through Bellingham. There is parking for two cars on the drive. Next time we are fishing on the N.Tyne we will check to see if the cottage is available to stay in.

Amazing stay! We had a wedding at the le petit château, 15 mins drive away. Worked out well cheaper for the 6 of that stayed here, rather than booking individual hotel rooms. Host kept intouch if we needed anything they where a message or a phone call away. Place was spotless. Shops restaurants all within 5 minutes walk. If im ever around there again i would definitely stay there.

Clean, comfortable, warm wee house. Lots of pots/pans, crockery, enough cutlery and basic utensils. Big comfortable beds and lots of good quality towels. Telly and Wi-Fi were both good though some instructions would have helped with the former. Friendly, helpful neighbours and lovely village. There was no drier which was disappointing as it was listed. We did not use the baths but the shower was plenty powerful and the water good and hot, though the shower screen was a bit short so as a result the bath-mat ended up a bit soggy. The enclosed front garden is a safe area for dogs and kids and would be a nice place to sit in the summer. We visited in an overcast week in January and felt that downstairs would benefit from some lamps or down lighters. Agent responded promptly when alerted to an issue with the bins not getting emptied. Hopefully that has been dealt with for future guests. We would recommend the property and the area. We would stay there again - a great wee holiday.

Just a couple of observations, maybe improve the lighting not great over mirrors. And have the microwave checked as got very hot on outside casing switched it off and didn’t use again. Apart from those couple of thing great place. Thanks

Stayed two nights at this air bnb. The place is beautifully presented. It’s managed by an agent and not the owners. The paying for a deposit adds another cost or admin layer for you to think about. With it being managed by an agent there is not much kitchen essentials there. There was no oil or washing up liquid. The place is 30 seconds from the local pub. Bellingham is a small village but was close to the observatory and kielder national park.

The house was easy to find. Pictures were a great representation of the property. Lovely quirky decor. The roll top baths were amazing! Great toiletries, bedding and towels were all lovely quality and spotless. Loved being able to walk into the village. we rent a lot of properties and the quality of this one along with the service from Host & Stay we will definitely book here again and use them in the future where possible. Had drinks at the Cheviot Hotel which were reasonable priced and lovely log fire. Had a takeaway from Happy Valley which was fantastic and breakfast from Fountain Cottage which again was amazing. Bellingham is a fantastic little village with a lot to offer and close to so many wonderful places in Northumberland.

Really great Airbnb! Super location with everything you need in the village, and a great place to stay. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable furniture. We would definitely recommend. Just a side note, you have to pay a deposit on top of quoted price. It is written in the Airbnb description but I’d missed it.

Great stay in a beautiful home. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, including dog bowls, which supported our Christmas stay very well. The host kindly put up a Christmas tree too, which was such a nice touch. Beds were a little hard and make sure to bring basic amenities like toilet roll (which wasn't very clear), but these are very small things which did not overshadow a lovely stay at a beautiful home. There is also a gorgeous hike up to a waterfall very near the house, which was so enjoyable! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great house, decorated and fitted out to a really good standard. Comfy beds, sofa and kitchen containing everything you need all in a great location for country walks and pubs. Just be aware of the additional damage deposit and admin fee you have to fill in additional forms for and pay ... the booking process isn't as easy as I've experienced with private hosts.

We had a lovely stay this weekend. The house was beautiful and really cost with a couple of lovely baths (which my partner enjoyed. Cannot fault the location and some lovely local places to eat. Stay here and you won’t be disappointed. We stayed in Bellingham as we’d booked to go to the Kielder Observatory which was only 30mins away (drive) so really handy.

Fox Cottage made for a really relaxing and peaceful stay - a luxurious mix of country cottage and boutique hotel with decor I wanted to take home. We had fantastic weather too - totally contrary to the forecast - so it was too warm to try out the master bedroom’s bath; we’ll have to book in again when it’s colder! The kitchen was really well equipped but we chose to eat out most of the time. The cottage is slap bang in the middle of the village so you can just walk to the pubs, shops and cafes - a perfect location. Spot on communication from the property managers too. Thanks!

what a great stay. perfect location with parking for our 2 cars. the property has been updated to a very high with some very cool and individual futures. such as a bath in one of the bedrooms. even better when we were able to bring our spaniel with us to, who also enjoyed the trip and the air bnb. we would highly recommend this stay, certainly not the cheapest for what we got, but not over priced either.

We stayed at Fox Cottage for the Jubilee weekend. It was lovely and clean, very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. It is very conveniently situated for shops, pubs and all local amenities and even the weather was kind to us. I would return without hesitation.
