Brilliant location within easy walking distance of the centre and public transport. Very quiet too and good view of the city walls! Very communicative host and good check in process. Unfortunately though there is a bad smell in the flat which after reading other reviews seems to be an ongoing problem. It is especially bad in the bathroom but does permeate through to the rest of the flat.

The location was spot on as we were close to the city centre and we got a free parking spot with our stay, however, from the first day we arrived, the flat had a very strong smell of sewage, we thought this would go away but as it was getting worse the next day we messaged the hosts who sent someone from maintenance the next evening, unfortunately he only put some drain unblocker down and this made the smell even more unbearable, the flat was mostly clean but there was multiple spiderwebs in the property.

This is a fine apartment. Coffee pot takes capsules. Easy access to city walls, the Minster and the rest of the city. Our only problem was the complex 3 key entry system. The instructions for opening the lockboxes didn’t apply to ours. If you don’t find the black lever on the front left of your box, press the buttons on either side at the same time! Also code didn’t work for trash cupboard. But once we got in we had a great time and were very happy with the stay.

This is definitely "the place" to stay in York! All the comforts you need in the apartment, dedicated parking, and walkable to all the sights and attractions! The building is "slightly tired" in that way that most buildings in the UK seem to be, but this shouldn't put you off - it's something to be aware of, given the "squeaky clean" photos, but nothing to deter you: it's a wonderful apartment!

The location is ideal only a 5 minute walk to the centre however parking even in a small car was tight and then there were no instructions on where the room is in the building. This is not an accessible space as it is on the 3rd floor and there did not appear to be a lift but luckily we did not need it. The place wasn’t spotless, one of the chairs appeared very dusty and there were food crumbs on the coffee table still. I did really enjoy the warmth of the shower and the heaters do a good job at keeping the place warm. We spent most of the time around town seeing York so as a place to sleep for the night it did the job.

Ticked all the boxes for us. Great location and a parking place. Nice bedroom and great shower. We were visiting family so spent little time inside as York has so much to do and has a vast array of food and drink options. Top choice for us if we return to York

Great location, across the road from the York City Walls, 5 minutes from the Monk Bar. The accommodation was a good base for exploring York. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking evening meals (we were two people). Parking was very useful as it is expensive for even a few hours in the City. This is an end of row apartment in a block and was nice and quiet - we didn't hear anyone else and I didn't hear any traffic noise. Happy to stay again, thank you!

Accommodation was great, just what we needed. A brilliant base for York. We had a problem with hot water after first morning. Switching to peak did not work as quickly as stated. There was someone to talk to and communication was really good. Hot water kicked in ( on peak setting) after evening out. Roman blind did not open in sitting room on last day, no fault of our own. Sofa wasn’t very comfortable but everything else was great. Overall, a brilliant base for exploring. Excellent shower when hot water working! Thank you so much.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The apartment is in an amazing location and was so close to the centre. It was clean and well looked after, the heating was also great at keeping the flat warm with the freezing weather. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a fantastic flat if you’re wanting a convenient location to York centre. It’s literally a 5 min walk. Really easy check in via a key lock box. The flat was exactly what we needed; a clean, accessible and well maintained property, and the parking was a huge bonus! We only realised how expensive parking was in the centre of York when we had to pay ourselves on the last day, so definitely a great bonus. We didn’t use the kitchen as there were so many lovely restaurants within a few minutes walk. The bathroom is small but clean and did the job, very clean as well. We also enjoyed the smart TV in the evenings, although we did have to switch it on and off at the wall each time to use it otherwise it wouldn’t show the picture, wasn’t an issue but something to note. Absolutely loved the addition of the fire as well. It made it very cost and was very much needed in the December temperatures. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay here, excellent location for easy access into the city of York, very clean and tidy. The hosts were always responsive and there were useful items like soap, bin bags and towels to use which is always a plus! We would just comment that the check in and check out times are a little less sociable than what we are used to, and the shower runs on a tank which led to one of us not being able to have a hot shower in the evening. We would however without hesitation stay here again in future!

A home from home! Excellent bed and facilities. Spacious apartment, close to great tourist spots. Enjoyed wandering around The Minster and making the most of Valhalla’s loaded fries (4 Patrick Pool, York YO1 8BB). A particular highlight was having an aperitif at Hooting Owl Distillery (1 Rougier St, York YO1 6HZ) ahead of dinner at nearby The Whippet Inn (15 North St, York YO1 6JD) Such a cool lounge and warm atmosphere we went back to Hooting Owl for an after-dinner drink too! Can recommend breakfast at Wheldrakes (5C Goodramgate, York YO1 7LJ) Super- friendly staff and great menu options. Took a stroll down The Shambles for some tourist treats before heading home. Thank you York, see you again!

We had a wonderful stay at Feversham house. Perfect location to explore all the amazing sights York had to offer. Everything we wanted to see was only a short walk away. Communication with host and stay was amazing, putting my mind at ease with questions I had in the run up to our stay. Will definitely be visiting again. We had no instructions on how to check in and no reply from the host. After a very helpful conversation with Airbnb support, we had no apology message or anything from the host, and our check in instructions were sent through from Dale at 4am on the day we checked out!! The place was beautiful and tidy and clean in a great location, but communication unfortunately was non existent.

really great location and very close to everything, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. the apartment was a good size for a couple and fairly clean apart from some unclean cups which was easily cleaned off by myself. there is a slight drain smell but it isn’t unbearable and it’s an old city so understandable. came with some milk sachets, teabags etc. i was a little bit confused about the check in forms as they had told me i’d get the check in form 14 days before the check in date but i hadn’t, so i phoned host and stay and i found the lady wasn’t friendly or helpful at all. once i got the check in form it was straightforward and all was good. all in all can’t complain about it as the location was just superb.

I was quite put out to be required to pay an 'insurance' against damage when we have had nothing less than an excellent review from Airbnb hosts for more than 10 years. Get real guys, you should accommodate being part of Airbnb, at least in this respect.

We got multiple emails about sending in the deposit, but no email for checking in until we emailed them the check in day at 6pm. The sofa was very low quality and the seat kept sliding off. It's very uncomfortable and annoying. The matching cushion needed a good wash. The coffee capsule machine leaks if you don't empty out the water tank right afterwards. There are a bit of mould in the shower tiles and shower head. It's a corporate managed apartment, I guess I can't express too much caring of the place. But the location is very good, it's right outside of the city wall.

The flat was lovely and clean and a great place to stay. The only two things I'd change would be the communication from the host about ID verification/damage deposit which felt excessive and secondly when we arrived finding there was no salt/pepper, no coffee pods for the coffee machine etc. These little things would have improved our stay a great deal. That said it's a great flat, great location and was easy to access.

Lovely place to stay, clean and comfortable. Very responsive. Please be aware there is an extra deposit charge on toip of the listed price of £25. or a £10 fee with a £250 deposit. This should have been communicated before booking in my opinion.

Great location and quiet flat. Felt like it was private and spacious. Loved the kitchen. Bed was comfortable. Cleaners showed up right at 10AM as I was walking out the door so that felt very awkward but there was plenty of warning that check out was at 10AM - just felt like a third wall was breeched based on how punctual they were. Overall it was a great place for a solo trip and was comfortable. Oh and the shower was great!

Apartment was a stones throw from the busy side of the city. Right next to Monks Bar entrance to the historic wall. Perfect for anyone looking to explore York. Only a 20 minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes to the Shambles. Bars and restaurants all a ten minute walk. Would definitely stay here again when we visit York in the future.

My wife and I had a lovely stay in the flat - it was a stone’s throw from the city walls, and so very easy to walk into the city for an evenings drink or for dinner, but still very quiet and peaceful. The flat was lovely and cosy, and everything was as described and photographed. The kitchen was well stocked, and the sofa and bed was very comfortable. The flat was left very clean and clutter free for when we arrived, and we settled in straight away. We had a fantastic stay here, and look forward to returning when we can! Cannot recommend this place highly enough, and will certainly be using Host and Stay for any future bookings where possible!

From start to finish an amazing experience. Our first time in York and it’s a perfect location to walk into the centre. The room was so homely and cosy which made the stay even better. If you struggle with stairs then maybe not best to stay here but was no issue for us. For anyone visiting York I would definitely recommend staying here

We had a lovely time in York this weekend. The space was clean, cool, tidy, just as the pics suggested. The location is really convenient and instructions were super clear/ coherent. I would say the only disappointment was that the host requires a deposit fee after booking which seemed a shame - I would have rather have costs like these included in the main fee. The communication to pay this was also quite demanding / not very friendly in tone with warnings without notice etc. I also received an email agresively telling me i've not paid my deposit yet (which I had indeed paid!). An apology was given - but still, I cant help thinking the whole experience was quite dramatic and not great customer service. On leaving we got a text saying leave by 10am or there will be a fine... We adhered to all but i wouldnt be booking through this company again as it goes against the friendly community spirit as per the other hosts on this platform.

The apartment was lovely and really well equipped, it was nice and clean too. Great location and only a short walk to all the shops, cafes and restaurants. One drawback was the parking space it is extremely tight and we only have a small/medium golf sized car even though it says on the listing it is suitable for a small to medium car there really isn't enough room either side when vehicles are parked to get out of the car easily so I would say that it's only suitable for a micro car and a gymnast. The only other thing was the flat was like an icebox when we arrived and it took a good few hours to warm up but the heaters were good once they got going. Also the Christmas tree and decorations were still up on 21st January?

Had a lovely stay in the apartment, very cosy and well equipt. A small walk to town and to sainsburys so very convienien location and als has parking for a small or medium car as advertised. Host was very reponsive and helpful, building was easy to get into. One item to note is when putting the location into gmaps it takes you into the sainsburys car park and not to the location which is next door outside the car park walls (I came from Leeds so it brought me in this way) What you want to do is ignore the satnav when it tells you to go right into the car park and take the next right for "Cloister Walk". That was the only thing and was the cause of maps. Really enjoyed our stay and would go again.

The directions to find the apartment were clear and easy. The entrance and common areas were disappointing but the apartment was clean and presented well. Tea, coffee and milk were provided along with clean towels and shower gel. The space was a little smaller than it appeared on the photos but was more than adequate for the two night stay. It was a great location and a short walking distance to the city walls as well as the city centre itself.

A nice flat, cozy and with really nice furnishings and general design of the space. The location was really brilliant, an easy way to get in and out of the centre. The coffee machine didn’t work (wrong pods were left so we couldn’t use it and also leaked water everywhere) so we had to buy some instant, there wasn’t enough tea to last us. Enough tea and coffee for the whole of the stay would be something I’d generally expect with an air bnb. The parking space is fine for a small car like ours, but larger cars would struggle. Check in was easy and any communication was informative and polite, however I found having send a picture of my ID a little excessive.

- Great location. - Warm and comfortable. - Access wasn’t as difficult as we thought (after reading previous reviews). - Neighbouring apartments can be heard very easily, doors shutting/voices/moving around etc. - Constant emails/messages throughout our stay were a bit annoying. - Verification process (passport/driving license) is excessive. - Quite expensive but a great stay nonetheless and would stay again.

Pros : Strategic Location. Comfortable. Nice decor. Easy Access Cons : (1) Hounded by messages and email to verify my identity (copies of Driving licence, passport, etc) when such verification already done by AirBnB. (2) walls are very thin. Could hear the neighbours talking, walking in their unit right up to late night. (3) cobwebs in bathroom and in bedroom overhanging bed (4) parking space is very small. Nightmare if you have a big car.

My partner and I stayed here over the weekend for two nights as it was our first time visiting York. The flat itself was lovely, clean and in a good location close to the town centre and we had an amazing weekend in York. We chose this Flat as the reviews seemed good but we were disappointed about a few things… there is parking advertised but only the smallest car may fit so my partner and I had to park in a nearby car park which wasn’t cheap. We then came to make breakfast in the morning… well the oven didn’t work and we couldn’t find any cutlery, glasses, plates or pans, we sent a message to the host and later got a response at 2.30pm advising us to check the dishwasher, I don’t think it should be on the guests staying to unload the dishwasher from the people before us. I would not recommend to stay here as I believe for the money we paid you could find a nicer place to stay.

Apartment is in a great location and very tidy. Entrance hall and communal entrance could do with a tidy up and the car park is very tight, not very practical for large cars. Certainly do not recommend the host, stay North Yorkshire would not accommodate a change of dates when I advised I was really ill with 8 hours prior to check in. I travelled even though I was really ill with a sickness bug, I spent 2 nights ill in the apartment which they were happy for me to do knowing I had a bug. Really need to get with the times and make exceptions!

A great place to stay for a few nights to explore the beautiful city of York. Perfect location just outside of the city walls with a dedicated parking space. The decor of the place was lovely, and the flat had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only drawback was the requirement to provide my personal information to a third party site for verification, which I didn’t feel was really necessary given this was already verified by Airbnb. Other than this, we had a great stay!

This flat is in an excellent location, easy to walk to the city walls and access all major tourist spots. The road is pretty quiet and the building secure. Perfect to pop back to if you need a break. It has everything you would need for a short stay, a very comfortable bed and plenty of space. Well decorated and cleaned. We had a few small issues on arrival, but these were very quickly resolved and communication was excellent. They still need to sort the drain smell, but we went prepared. The rest of the flat and location made up for it, so although it is quite pricey we would still recommend to others as a great spot to visit York.

A fantastic apartment from which to explore York. The walk to the Minster is 5-10 minutes and very easy - from there you can explore the rest of the city with ease. When we checked in, we noticed a few things amiss with the cleaning. However, we notified the company and they dealt with all outstanding issues immediately. Mistakes happen; we're all human. The customer service was second-to-none and we would very happily stay here again, and recommend this company to anyone looking for a high quality Airbnb.

Absolutely amazing apartment, location unreal and communication with Stay was perfect. Only downside to it was check in was late due to house cleaning having issues, the bathroom had a weird smell from the drains which I reported to Stay and the price in hindsight is a tad expensive which may have been due to half term but overall amazing place and would 100% stay again.
