Fawcett Cottage is situated in a quiet location and is a short drive from York. Positives: Everything is there for a short stay. Dogs welcome. Nice location. Good heating. Negatives: Showers. No where to clean dirty dogs. Not enough cutlery and crockery.

We loved Fawcett Cottage, perfect location, spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and a beautiful space, plus super comfy beds. The village is really quiet, with lots of nice places to walk the dogs. Our dogs are tiny so had to watch them in the garden as the gate had gaps.. only an issue for little dogs like mine that like mine but big dogs would have no issues. York and local villages are close by so within 10/15 mins you can get to a coop or local Morrisons if you wanted more than the village shop. We had the most relaxing stay and will definitely book again.

We had a lovely and comfortable few days stay. Garden good for the dogs. Easy to park, cosy cottage and comfortable beds. Tollerton is a pretty village with a good pub and great village shop for stocking up on essentials that we needed. Overall a lovely stay.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage in a very peaceful village. Perfect location for visits to Knaresborough, Wetherby, York and a few other attractions we visited. The cottage had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Bed comfortable, great showers/bath and thoughtful provision of toiletries. We would 100% stay again and would recommend to anyone enquiring about staying here.

Fawcett Cottge is located in a very quiet neighbourhood and was the perfect location for York and the surrounding area. The cottage is spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The lovely garden is a bonus, we enjoyed the evenings out there. Communication with the host was great, very informative, friendly and responsive. I can definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay again.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village with easy access to many of North Yorkshire's attractions including the popular coastal destinations. Lovely country side walks around the village and also a peaceful garden to sit and relax in. The cottage itself is spacious and immaculately clean. Very comfy beds. A well stocked village shop is a short walk away and there are also 2 pubs within easy walking distance. Would highly recommend.

We wanted a dog-friendly place to stay near York so that we could visit elderly family who have recently moved into sheltered accommodation and are no longer able to host us. Fawcett Cottage fitted the bill perfectly, with a secure garden, large comfortable living area and good kitchen. The cottage was very clean when we arrived and all instructions were provided via a web link, which made it easy to check. Tollerton village is about 15/20 minutes from York and is a very quiet village, which suited us fine. The local pub is currently closed; I think there is a tea room and a small local convenience store, but we didn't use those. Location-wise, it's very convenient for the Howardian Hills, North York Moors, the Dales and many other local attractions. We would recommend Fawcett Cottage and will likely return ourselves.

We had a great stay here, the cottage was everything we needed and more for the short time we were here. The cottage itself was very cosy, comfortable and modern. The surrounding area was quiet and beautiful and only a 20min drive from York city centre. The guidebook provided beforehand was a nice touch, very informative and clear instructions about the cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely stay again in the future

We stayed at Fawcett Cottage for 5 days. The cottage was lovely - modern, clean, cosy and comfortable. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The guide book was very informative and gave us lots of help for our visit. The village of Tollerton is small and quiet with not a lot to do but we were aware of that before we booked so we were prepared to drive to our activities. The cottage isideally located for what we wanted to do including an action packed day in York! We will definitely stay again!

I am extremely disappointed by what happened with this booking. As we were about to board the boat at Belfast we received a phone call to say our Airbnb had cancelled our stay. First of all I thought it was a scam as they left it so late to inform us. When we arrived in Cairnryan we spent an hour trying to find other suitable accommodation. We asked you for similar arrangements and what you sent us was a down right disgrace. In face it was an insult to suggest we would stay in a tent!! The other two properties consisted of a one double bed room in someone’s house. What a distressing time it was at the start of our holiday. Here we were sitting in Scotland not knowing where we were going. I had also spent time before we left of working out mileage etc from Tollerton to various places. It was an absolute nightmare and I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone. I also paid £25 to cover us with insurance and I’m still waiting for this to be refunded. I hope this payment will come soon.

The house is absolutely gorgeous, we felt right at home and loved that we had parking. All of the locals were so lovely as well. There isn’t much to do in walking distance but a 20 min car ride and your day is filled. My whole experience with Host & Stay has been wonderful. The communication was great and the welcome package they send on checkin was exceptional, it contained everything you could possibly need about the property and the local area too. We would definitely stay again.

The location is lovely, very quiet and friendly village and easy access to York city centre. The homes decor is beautiful and felt very comfortable. Some disappointing aspects though. I had sent a message asking if there was a real fire, was told yes but would need to take my own logs. Was very disappointed to arrive to find a fan heater and no log burner. The other real let down was the tv. I had assumed the home had wifi, however, there is no wifi and a smart tv which couldn’t connect to our mobile data. It worked for a few hours using the Free View via the aerial but then that stopped working and we had no tv for the weekend. So our plans for Christmas movie night by the fire were well and truly scuppered. Other issue was that the well stocked kitchen didn’t have any kitchen knifes. Neither of the mirrors were secured so very dangerous with little ones running around. No restrictors on low level 1st floor windows which was unsettling with kids. Easy fixes to make 10/10
