The space
With a luxury, orange velvet sofa and a metal coffee table, the living room is the perfect spot to relax with your loved ones. Lay back here with a good book or simply just relax after a day at the seaside. Beautifully decorated, the living area is complete with exposed bricks, wall lamps and wooden flooring. Watch your favourite shows or stream your favourite apps from the 43” Smart TV provided.Directly behind the living space is the dining room. On trend velvet dining chairs frame the black table so there is ample room for your party to enjoy meals together. Whether you are making home cooked food in the kitchen or you’re ordering in a takeaway, the dining area allows you to socialise easily with your friends or family.
The modern kitchen is on the right-hand side of the dining space and boasts a sophisticated look. With light cream cabinets and wooden worktops, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need for your self-catering staycation. There is an oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. The space is complete with silverware and cookware. A washing machine is also provided for your convenience.
Head upstairs and you’ll find two welcoming bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a double bed, storage space and an ensuite shower room. Beautifully decorated, the space includes a cosy cream walls and premium furnishings. The ensuite has a walk-in shower, basin and WC.
The second bedroom also features a comfy double bed with premium bedding and linens. With a bright colour scheme of white, there is an instant relaxing feel. The space is complete with a bedside table and a stylish lamp.
The main bathroom has a bathtub with overhead shower, WC and basin.
Along with parking for one vehicle at the rear of the property, you’ll also find an enclosed yard area.
Guest access
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Milbanke House are accessed via a key safe box and full details will be provided prior to check-in.Private on-site parking is available for one vehicle.
A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Milbanke House per reservation.

The house was a lovely find. We usually stay further down the coast in Roker (which is also lovely) but it was booked. But we are so glad we found this property instead. The house is very tastefully decorated with lovely comfy furniture. The beds were especially comfy and we both slept really well. Even though it was near the main road, there was little to no traffic noise. There was everything we needed for our stay and we would really recommend to others to stay here. I think we will definitely be back at some point.

Stayed one night for the Great North Run. Despite the decent weather, there was quite a serious rising damp problem behind the TV (which doesn't receive the main channels - you will need a BBC iplayer and/or ITVX sign in to watch them) so much so that white spores had begun to form on the wall. The same can be found by the back door. Aside from this, all was well until we discovered that the ensuite shower was completely dead - not ideal as we all had to use the one shower in the main bathroom the following morning for an early start. Awaiting response from Host and Stay regarding this.
