When we arrived one of the circuits on the fuse box was tripped and wouldn't reset. This meant no lights worked and the smoke alarms were not connected to the mains. This seems to be because of water. The landing on the first floor was sopping wet and the light fitting was dripping with water - likely from a leak. The host sent someone around the next day who dealt with the problem. But spending the night without proper smoke alarms (or lights) is not okay. We have made a complaint. The company are due to get back to us with 7-10 working days (so far it have been 8 working days). They pestered for a review, however, so they're getting it now. Other than that, the house was reasonably clean and a nice space. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the loos, which is never the most reassuring. The house was nice enough, comfy beds, beautiful skylights in the main bedroom. The location was ideal. Kitchen had enough equipment to cook with.

Great base for exploring Whitby, very central location. Lovely house with lovely views! Easy walk down into town and up to the Abbey. All facilities and amenities you need in the house.

We had a wonderful few days in this house, which is in easy walking distance of the centre of Whitby but away from the really busy streets. The rooms were really generous with lovely comfortable beds, and there was plenty of room to relax downstairs as well.

The property was clean and tidy and is in a great location, just a short walk to the town and harbour. The parking is a bit of a nightmare though but we did manage to find spaces in the end and then didn't use the cars again until we left. Aside from that we had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend.

Great stay with lots to do in the surrounding area. Very quiet with friendly neighbours. Value for money. The guidebook was great and gave us everything we needed to know. Would stay again.

We stayed in this lovely house with 3 small children and 3 small dogs. Stand out features were the big comfy beds and secure garden for the dogs. There were a few steps into the house, which was a bit of a pain with the prams but we managed fine. There is also a high chair, which wasn’t listed on the amenities.

Great clean and spacious accommodation! There is short steep walk down to the town, so give consideration to this if you have mobility issues. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuite had lovely views. The host was very quick to resolve a minor issue with the bathroom lock. Fantastic holiday, would definitely stay there again.

This house is in a stunning location, the house is super easy to find, is a 20 minute walk away from the train station and local shops. there is tonne of options for food and drink locally and the host made sure to help as much as they could. The view from the rooms is gorgeous and the back garden is lovely with access to herbs for cooking! would absolutely recommend this host!

The property is in a row of residential houses so local residents, children and dogs around. Parking is a nightmare, lots of 2 car families, visitors, tourists and on the weekend we were there, visiting Jehovah Witnesses all of which took up any available parking. Even parking on the roadside still meant a 2-3 min walk to the house, multiple trips to the car and a very steep set of steps to the front door. However that is the only downside, the house is in vg order, newly decorated and new carpets and blinds so everything in excellent condition. The beds are extremely comfy as is the lounge. We could not view live tv for some reason but we managed with the free view apps for the limited time we were indoors. Very close to the harbour, beach, main Whitby though access is down a very steep bank. The house was perfect for 6 friends on a birthday weekend and was well equipped.

Really lovely house, very modern and clean. Everything we needed was provided plus lots more. Easily enough room for our family of six adults and one baby. The cot would have fit into any one of the rooms. All guests reported the beds were comfy and they had lots of space. We did struggle a bit with the pram but the second day we took the baby carrier and managed fine. We would definitely use this place again. Thank you for making it a lovely break.

There were extra fees for a non-refundable damage waiver. Host & Stay only revealed the amount of the fees after the booking was made, so be aware the actual price is £50 on top of the price quoted for your stay. There were torn bin bags at the front of the house and there were sweet wrappers and other rubbish under furniture - which was disappointing given there was a £125 cleaning fee. Worst of all, however, was that we could not check in on time (4pm) and had to wait until nearly 7pm. No reason was given for this but we had three young children unable to have their tea and getting frustrated. All in all, the house was nice but the management of the property was woeful.

Well ……. where to start, what a lovely house to stay in for our 3 night break. As soon as we walked through the door you could tell the house was lovely and clean. The house was in tip top shape and looked to be very recently decorated. The rooms are a decent size and beds very comfortable, the little touches like hair dryers in every room and charging plugs are hit in my book. Location wise I would say is about a 5 min walk away from the centre of Whitby, which we enjoyed doing each day Would highly recommend and are likely to stay in the house next time we visit Whitby All in all top Banana 🍌
