What a lovely place to stay! Even better than the photos, which I didn’t think was possible. The whole place was immaculate and honestly I think had the best views in all of Whitby with their gorgeous top floor balcony. Family loved it, and my partner had a great 25th birthday thanks to this perfect home! We are already wanting to book again, no one wanted to leave. Thanks to the host who was very quick to respond and explained everything clearly. Best place to stay in Whitby!

A lovely house, perfectly located close to all town centre amenities. Very well presented, spotlessly clean and tidy. My only complaint was that the house was really cold when we arrived and the kitchen and hallway areas didn’t warm up despite the heating being on. We had to ensure the lounge and bedroom doors were kept shut otherwise they’d have been cold as well. It didn’t spoil our stay though and we’d definitely come back.

Absolutely wonderful house. Me and the family loved our stay here felt right at home. All the furniture and little touches really made the property feel homely. The kitchen was very well equipped and the house was immaculate. Walking distance to shops, coffee and bakery.

What an amazing little winter break away in Whitby I can’t recommend this place enough So so clean When I say clean I mean spotless It smells Devine when u walk in The house is stunning Very classy expensive taste furniture Just so nice In a good location Within walking distance to bars n restaurants The best I’ve ever stayed at in Whitby and I’ve been there many times The local sweet treats left as a gift are so tasty 😋 that we bought some from local bakery to bring home Thank you for a great stay Don’t hesitate to book it

Beautiful immaculate property, really well equipped, cosy & comfortable. Little extra touches were very much appreciated such as the welcome box of goodies, interesting books about the area, great recommendations & even some history of the house itself. Every room was decorated & accessorised with taste, care, thought & love, the owners clearly take a great deal of pride in their property. Would definitely return & already have friends asking for details. Also a fabulous central location. Parking is absolutely fine - we parked a couple of streets away (maybe 5 minutes walk) & don’t see it as an issue at all. The best property we have stayed at in Whitby.

Stunning property in a fabulous location, quiet in the house but straight out onto plenty of bars & restaurants. Lounge was cosy, Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Top floor bar & balcony were a great touch, not so much for December but still amazing views.

The property was outstanding. Immaculately clean and beautiful furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped and the ice making machine in the bar was amazing. Central location but very quiet. Didn't even hear the seagulls. Parking for both our cars was just on the street a short walk from the property which was perfect.

Easy to find & the parking scratch cards were very straightforward to use. Beautifully presented and decorated and so well thought out. Everything has been thought of and is of high quality. The rooftop bar area really steals the show though. The view from there is amazing and it’s going to be extremely hard, if not impossible to beat if you’re looking to stay in Whitby. Everything went without a hitch, until my daughter left her beloved cuddly toy behind. The host & stay team very kindly sent it on to us and saved the day! We would love to go back, thoroughly recommended 😃

Beautiful townhouse, ideally located for wandering to the shops, or the beach! All of the rooms were furnished to a really high standard, and brilliantly clean!! perfect location for us and the dog to explore Whitby! Host sent very clear instructions, and very simple and clear. amazing few nights break!!

The property is very close to all the shops and restaurants. The top floor has a beautiful view of Whitby Abbey . The bedrooms were very comfortable and a lot of consideration has gone into the decor of the house. It would be useful to have 2 parking cards . My friends had to pay for the car park. We all enjoyed our stay and of course the fish and chips were lovely.

Had a great free days staying in this house. Perched on the side in the hill with a great view from top chill out room. Nice as clean. Kids loved the top bar area and playing on all different levels of house. Recommended for family stays

Immaculate house to stay in with comfortable beds, roomy kitchen diner and excellent bathrooms. The lounge looked great but was a big turn off for us as a place to actually sit and relax. More designed for the brochure. The loft/balcony area was clever and relaxing of an evening. During the day inevitably the seagulls were very present. I noticed the next door balcony had a couple of plastic birds placed strategically - not sure if that helped keep them clear of seagulls though! The crockery was mostly chipped. Particularly unimpressed with the minimal ‘welcome’ pack. If you have to go out shopping for tea and coffee as soon as you arrive it’s neither welcoming or luxurious.

I highly recommend Devereux House for anyone planning a stay in Whitby. The house is exactly as pictured—beautifully presented with top-notch facilities. The balcony bar is a real highlight, offering stunning views over Whitby that made our stay extra special. Charlie was friendly, responsive, and proactive in all communication. That said, everything was so well-organized and clearly explained that we didn’t need to reach out during our stay.

Enjoyed our stay. Great location, beautiful accommodation. May not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Lovely comfortable beds. Loved the sky Bar, chose to sit in there and as views of Abbey were amazing, didn’t even use the lounge !!! … Had to pay to park as couldn’t find scratch card for permit anywhere, but there is a car park directly behind the building. We have always received a welcome hamper at other AirB&B’s,which is a welcome touch,bit not supplied here.. .otherwise a beautiful property with great views in a central location for everything Whitby has to offer

Well. WHAT an amazing place!! SO well situated, close to lots of coffee shops, pubs, shops but also tucked away enough to feel secluded. I can’t explain how impressed we were with the property. It was absolutely superb!!! Could have stayed another 3 nights, it really made our trip! Will absolutely be back!!!

The property is beautiful and ideally located for a stay in Whitby. I highly recommend it for these reasons, but potential guests should be aware of a few issues—our first 24 hours felt like an episode of Fawlty Towers! Key points: We had to clean the kitchen, bathroom, and balcony upon arrival. The provided parking permit was incorrect and initially useless. A replacement was given but had already expired. The house was extremely cold. The thermostat had a low battery, and after a full day of back-and-forth, maintenance finally arrived at 7 pm to fix low boiler pressure and control settings. Minimal toilet roll was provided—apparently, it's "self-catering"! I'd have preferred that over the complimentary Prosecco. Still, to reiterate my opening sentence, it is a stunning property, and overall, the communication and service were very good.

A gorgeous house in a really convenient location. The views from the rooftop bar are stunning. The property has been decorated to a high standard throughout, beds were comfortable. Lots of information provided beforehand about the property. You will have everything you need to self cater. The only real issue was parking, we ended up using a nearby pay and display at an extra charge of £9.60 per day as there was nothing else available. Also, appreciated the bottle of prosecco but really feel for the price point of £325 per night a welcome pack should be provided of at least some basics like milk and bread.

Amazing house, great location, walkable to town and the waterfront. The venue from the rooftop bar was stunning, never tired of it. Ice machine in the top bar was a nice touch as was the history of the house in the book. The bottle of Prosecco on arrival was most appreciated. Parking was slightly challenging, but we used the pay & display next to it for £9.60/day. Will definitely return and have already recommended Whitby and the house to others.

Great property in a fantastic location! Lots of stairs though so would not recommend for people with walking difficulties, although my 85 year old mother was staying with us and able to navigate the stairs slowly and carefully without problems and despite having two hip replacements! The parking in the area was also difficult but to be expected as it is so centrally located. What you can't beat is the quality of the overall home and the views from the roof over Whitby, which were stunning. Great communications by the team responsible for the property too. Would highly recommend!

All great…lovely location and beautiful house with wonderful views. Decor excellent and beds super comfortable. Would recommend to most people visiting the area. Lots of stairs so probably not the best for elderly or v young children. Furniture in bar room not very comfortable which is a shame as the view was so nice!!!! Recommended.

Amazing weekend in a beautiful house. Nice touch with bottle of Prosecco & Rooftop bar was fab and had a fridge and ice machine as well as a music system. Amazing views and 5 min walk into Whitby. The only thing I would point out is that although the house was very tidy & clean it was very dusty everywhere which was a shame. 1st night we all ate at abbey wharf and were lucky to get table on terrace with a view. The Whitby Deli was just around the corner and great. The brewery is lovely to sit and have a beer overlooking the abbey. Cosa Nostra did great Italian food and pizza west was really good to with a unique menu and salted caramel expressos to die for. Moon and sixpence is also a lovely cocktail bar especially if you can get a table outside. Lovely shops in the lanes on way to 199 steps. Robin hoods bay definitely worth a visit too. All in all would recommend but cleaners need to up their game. Would go back. Had a great weekend

Well positioned with two excellent outdoor spaces, lots of thought gone into everything and tastefully decorated throughout. Ideal for grown-ups; one room on each floor and six flights of stairs and no cot or chair provision make it less so for small children. Challenging parking, compounded by need for permits that arrived at the eleventh hour. Despite this “glitch in the system” (host’s explanation) can recommend the property as being in first-class location and a delight to inhabit. The top floor cocktail bar with glass wall and view across to the abbey is unsurpassable.

Perfect place! Clean, fresh, and modern. Great location right in the middle of town, around the corner from some nice pubs, cafes, and Botham’s famous bakery. Also, that view overlooking Whitby from the top floor is incredible! The place is spread throughout 5 floors, which was kind of fun and worked well to get the views, but my 80 year old parents had a bit of a hard time with all the stairs. Just something to keep in mind if you also struggle with lots of stairs, etc. Though if you can handle those 199 abbey stairs and all the hills in Whitby, maybe you’d be ok! Overall we loved the place and already said we’d stay at this one again!

It’s a beautiful house with great location and stunning views. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable to sleep in. The kitchen/ dining area and the terrace bar were the highlights- fully equipped and modern. The bathrooms were clean and the shower pressure is great! It’s less than a minute’s walk from the Main Street and a few mins from the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This place really stood out when I was looking for a place to stay in Whitby, and for good reason. The 'sky bar' is a wonderful place to sit and gaze at the sea and the view of the abbey, glass of wine in hand! I wanted a place where we could be happy indoors if the January weather was naff, and so we were very content on one of our days to chill around Devereux House without even stepping outside. On the sunnier days, though, we did venture out and the delights of Whitby were just a few minutes' stroll away; the immediate neighbourhood was peaceful. Each room felt generous and luxurious; as guests, we felt cared for. Wish we could have stayed longer. Sure, it wasn't our cheapest booking, but we got what we paid for. And on another note, I can heartily recommend Whitby in January - I'm used to it being so busy in warmer months, but it was fab (for us) to stroll around quieter streets. Thank you.

Fantastic place and in an ideal world worth the premium price, the location is ideal and the rooms are all amazing - the rooftop bar is something else! But - the kitchen tap was not fixed to the worktop making it almost impossible to use and the separate freezer was unusable being almost entirely full of ice - literally! Then there was the broken glass left on the floor in the roof bar that our dog picked up - luckily I was there and managed to deal with it before there as an incident. 12 days later I'm still waiting for a response to this issue. Quick to to take your money - not so quick to carry out necessary maintenance or indeed clean adequately for the £60 cleaning fee - broken glass on the floor and plenty of dust on lampshades etc. Was supposed to be a memorable stay for special event - but memorable for the wrong reasons unfortunately.

Stunning place in the perfect location. The view of the Abbey from the top floor was even better than in the photos! We were a bit put off by the £250 deposit, but it was refunded in full in a very timely manner.

Beautiful house, looks exactly like the pictures. Attic bar has stunning views and a bonus having a wine fridge, kettle and running water. You must be happy with stairs as its a long way up, but well worth it. Neighbourhood was very peaceful but you are with walking distance of all the sights.

There’s the saying, you get what you pay for, and this is spot on with Deveraux House. The location is right in the heart of the town and the property is first class. Every room is decorated to a very high standard. The sky bar is brilliant to ‘Chill’ and soak in the fantastic view across to the sea and abbey. Yes it cost a little more but wow is it worth it !!!!!!

Beautifully presented home over 5 floors. Beds very comfortable, rooms clean. The views from the top were amazing. Communication was fast and helpful. It’s a great location for the town without being too loud. Only thing we would appreciate would be two sets of keys as the type of door needs to be locked when someone is out meaning at times I was locked in upstairs otherwise anyone could get in. It’s not very accessible for those with mobility issues so I wouldn’t recommend it if you struggle with stairs. We were very happy staying and would love to visit again.

Deveraux house is spectacular especially the roof top bar space with open bifold doors with amazing views over roof tops to the abbey. Set over five floors, we spent most of our time at the top which had comfortable furniture, fridge for drinks and an ice machine. The kitchen on the ground floor was well equipped with all you need plus washing machine. The lounge decor and furnishings was stunning, as were the two bedrooms with queen size beds, walk in robes and ensuites. Overall a grea stay and would highly recommend.

The house is stunning, really beautiful. However the best part is the location, in a really nice part of Whitby close to wine bars and delis and the beach. The stairs do get a bit tiresome as we were constantly up and down but the view from the top is well worth it (and we had to carry our old dog!). Loved it...will be back!!!

This was a fantastic, well-equipped house. The sky bar was a particular hit with everyone and made the stay a great experience. We were the first to stay in the house so there were a couple of teething issues but communication with the host was good and we resolved them easily.
