We were disappointed when we arrived because the house hadn’t been heated. It was 14 degrees and we had to spend the evening in the kitchen with our coats on to keep warm.
It wasn’t obvious how to change the heating so it reached 16 degrees maximum and was absolutely freezing at night. We have a 3 month old baby so I spent the night worrying he was too cold.
The next day my husband did manage to fix the heating only to find out the pool wasn’t heated much to the kids disappointment.
The cooking facilities were also poor for big parties with very few big pans etc.
Overall I felt our short stay was tainted by these things and it wasn’t worth the money. It’s such a shame as it looked great on the listing!
I was thinking about asking for a partial refund as it almost ruined my 40th and my sisters 50th celebration.
For future stays I suggest the cleaners make sure the heating is on as it will be bitter in the winter for people and you will get more bad reviews

The grounds of Silton Hall are stunning. it's just a shame that the house itself doesn't match up to them. We had a number of issues during our stay - the main one being the pool hadn't been turned on, despite the fact I had been told it would be ready for our arrival. The kitchen is no where near well equipped enough to deal with large groups and none of the basics (salt & pepper/oil etc) were provided despite the fact this place is being advertised as luxury. The beds were uncomfortable and the bedding wasn't high end as in the description. it's a real shame as it could be a great place to stay but everything inside is cheap and the company obviously don't want to spend the money and so the luxury element doesn't exist and it felt like a real waste of money.

Beautiful grounds and great location for walks in the north Yorkshire moors.
We really enjoyed the indoor pool especially in the unpredictable Yorkshire summer weather. It was nice that the inflatables for previous guests were left, the kids enjoyed that. Beds are comfortable.
Firstly we contacted the property staff about everything below and we were gaslit and fobbed off at every turn. To the point I thought it was a bot running the account. It's not, it's just terrible staff and abismal service.
The facilities are terrible for a large group. There are no facilities for cooking. There's no big pans or oven dishes. The oven works poorly and is unreliable and is overdue for maintenance. There's not enough chairs or lounge chairs to relax in the garden. There are only four working chairs on the terrace, Two were broken. There are not enough chairs to sit together to eat. We had to bring all the chairs in from other rooms and squash them around the dining table. See picture for arrangement, very squashed. They say there's a bbq in the listing but it was nowhere to be seen, texted the staff and they said there's no bbq. We found it pushed in a cupboard as it was essential to cook for all of us in a state. Cheers it up and managed. House was grubby with stains all over cushions, throws and soft furnishing. Cobwebs and dust in all corners. All kitchen equipment was grubby and needed to be washed before use. Loads of lightbulbs were burned out.

A gorgeous house big enough for a large group to enjoy without feeling too crammed in, with spectacular grounds and a fabulous pool. We loved spending a long weekend swimming and lounging on the grass, and the living spaces were great for playing games in.
There didn’t seem to be nearly enough by way of pots and pans to cook for a group of 12 people.
Three guests, myself included, had specifically checked the listing beforehand and seen a barbecue listed under facilities, so we brought food along for one. There was no barbecue, and when a guest called up the hosts to find out why, it sounded like the customer service wasn’t great.
One of the legs on a chair at the outdoor table was bent/broken and crumpled beneath a guest who grazed and bruised her leg. A couple of the loungers in the pool also seemed to be falling apart.
I think the decor throughout could be more thoughtful (eg. mirrors and cheap pictures from IKEA put up wonky) and in keeping with the age and character of the property to give a more ‘wow’ experience inside as well as out.
