We had a fantastic stay at Craig Cottage. Its location was superb, right next to the pier in the old town with restaurants, pubs and walks aplenty on the doorstep. Despite the bustling location, the Cottage was also really quiet, being placed just behind the Main Street. The Cottage itself was really spacious (we are a family of 5 and came with our pet dog too) with beautiful original features throughout. The outdoor side was an added bonus too. It was our first stay at Cragg cottage but we’ll definitely go back!

The property lacked some basic utensils, toilet rolls and no logs provided in the winter. It was a cold evening when we arrived and the shops were close so unable to purchase. A big sofa in the living room blocked the radiator so extra jumpers were needed. Very small staircase- not suitable for disabled or elderly persons . No coffee pot or even a taken teabag - stayed in may Airbnb properties and can clearly say that whilst it was in a good location and fairly clean I wouldn’t stay again due to the lack of effort provided for guests on arrival, sometimes a sweetener for the guests bring them back.

Lovely little cottage, smack in the centre of Whitby, easy to get to everything. Cottage is an old building but has been renovated to a high standard and has nice extras like handles for the stairs.

The cottage was in a fantastic location, really close to the main harbour but secluded and very peaceful. Inside and outside spaces were great and the bed was the best I have ever slept in. We will definitely return and stay again.

Beautiful, characterful, cosy property with exquisite decor and fantastic modern facilities including great kitchen and powerful shower. Great location right in the centre of things yet remarkably peaceful as just set back from the main street. The beautiful garden with spacious seating area under the pergola was such a delight and surely a rare find in busy Whitby! Highly recommend and would definitely return.

The only thing we’d add is to supply tea towels and kitchen roll. More Tea and coffee The stairs were a bit steep. Otherwise it was beautiful

We had a great stay in Whitby, the cottage was so peaceful yet right in the heart of everything. Cottage was beautiful and full of character and charm and it had everything we needed. The garden was fab for dining outdoors which we did and very much enjoyed. 10/10 for location and accommodation.

We had a lovely stay at Cragg Cottage! The location is a peaceful oasis right in the heart of Whitby. It was a little difficult to find initially as it is not on a main road and is situated behind Henry's cocktail bar up some steps. We stopped the car in the loading bay outside the bar to take everything into the cottage then parked at the Pavilion car park 5 mins away where we left the car for the week. It was perfect for our dog with a completely enclosed beautiful garden. The steps in the cottage are steep but were fine for us, the place was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. There is only one tv and it is very small, because we had our dog we tended to spend the evenings at the cottage so a bigger tv would have been a bonus but of course we didn't come on holiday to watch tv the whole time! I would 100% recommend this cottage and we would definitely stay here again thank you for having us!

A very quaint and cosy cottage very centrally located in Whitby. Excellent for access to the seafront and shops. Tucked behind the restaurants on the front so no need to trek up the hill. Great garden. Unfortunately the cottage wasn’t as clean as we had hoped which dampened our stay but otherwise would recommend. Worth highlighting that there are two very narrow spiral staircases which is worth bearing in mind for elderly/less mobile guests.

Went for the Christmas period with 5 adults. Just about enough space for all of us. Spotlessly clean cottage in a great part of the Town and accessible for everything you could want. No complaints at all. Will definitely be booking again

House is in great location for visiting Whitby, however not ideal if you have non-walking children and lots of things to unpack as access to the house involves lots of steps and you cannot park a car near the entrance so have to do several trips for your bags etc. Property is also smaller than seems on photos and stairs internally are incredibly steep, again would not advise staying with small children or elderly. Property was very unclean on our arrival, pet hair all downstairs, floors had clearly not been hoovered/swept or mopped. Bathroom also needs a deep clean and was not to the standard we would expect given the £125 cleaning fee. Overall great location, smaller than expected and very unclean. Ideal for a group of adults rather than a family.

The late check-in, early check-out and inability to leave bags for a couple of hours cut short our stay. The dog poo over the garden coloured our stay a little too. But to end on a positive, the house was clean and tidy, linen was immaculate and the area was really quiet despite being slap bang in the middle of everything

Lovely little cottage just set back off the main street behind the famous Magpie Fish and Chip Restaurant. With a spacious garden right in the centre of Whitby it's peaceful yet so close to all the main attractions. The kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms were really comfortable. The stairs are a little streap and narrow but there is a handrail to support you when using them and adds character to the property. There are also a few low ceilings so mind your head when leaving the bathroom. We parked near the leisure centre and walked down but there is also another car park near the train station which is a flatter route tot he cottage. We loved it and would go back next time we are in Whitby.

The Cragg Cottage is in an excellant location, we messaged ahead to confirm directions as the drop pin wasnt too clear, the directions we got from Host and stay took us to the opposite side of whitby, just as well we didnt listen! The Cragg Cottage is nicely decorated, very clean and well stocked kitchen with utensils etc. All I would have preferred is that the clean spare lining wasnt dumped on the floor in the understair cupboard beside a dirty mop and hover, there was an iron and black out curtains... other than that fabulous stay, confortable cottage, beds, great location and a great holiday

Cragg Cottage is a quaint, perfectly situated cottage to explore Whitby. Less than a minute from the main harbour and amenities. Our host was very friendly and approachable at all times. Would highly recommend a stay.

It was a bad deal because: No hot water No heating Stairway and hallways and kitchen too narrow for more than one person to get by. Convection hob not working. Supply of one roll of loo roll only (for a party of 5 staying for 5 nights). When someone came to ‘fix’ the boiler, it was not fixed (the plumbing makes a VERY loud banging before if all shuts down again from use).

An excellent property, right in the centre of Whitby yet very quiet. There is no parking, but the Endeavour car park is a 5 minute walk away, large with plenty of parking and no need to navigate the smaller side streets and tighter car parks! Access is via a ginnel off the main road , and this could be added to the notes to make it easier for people who aren’t familiar with the quirks of Whitby to find. The cottage is beautiful, has a large garden and my only complaint is that it was too hot - even after having reduced the main thermostat and turned the individual radiators off!

Cragg Cottage is homely and located in walking distance to Whitby's attractions. It has a large, charming garden. We stayed there for a week of survey work, and it offered a suitable base to update our results in the evening, discuss the day's events in the comfortable lounge and cook an evening meal. We stayed with four people, and although it is possible to stay with six, I imagine that the space would be pretty crowded. The staircase and corridors are narrow, ceilings low and there is only one bathroom/toilet. The car cannot be brought close to the house and you have to carry luggage for at least 5-10 minutes from the closest car park. If you want to prepare own meals, you need to bring everything, from salt to kitchen roll. Altogether it was a lovely stay at Cragg Cottage, and you are right in the middle of the old town.

No on-site parking, as listed. The parking is free at most public car parks between Oct & March. (EV chargers not commissioned west Cliff or Chrurch Street car park Dec 2023). The accommodation, however, is perfect! saying that it was a shame not to have the fuel for a roaring fire, We spent most of our time in the kitchen area, which was much warmer. the beds are uber comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. Free WiFi was also a positive for the ten year old and pensioner stopping with us. A quirky cottage with winding hidden staircases. Doors on the stairs help with insulation. A huge bathtub with a standard and rain shower was a delightful way to freshen up. The cottage was all decked out, ready for Christmas, which was a lovely homely touch. A very short walk brings you out just down from the famous Magpie Cafe. where you can park to unload your car before stowing it at a public car park. Everything Whitby has to offer is in easy reach.

The location of the property is good as everything is in walking distance. The beds were comfy and the property was nice and warm. There is a nice garden to the side which offers seating. It is only accessible up several steps and as it’s behind the magpie cafe there is a strong smell of fish and chips/vinegar. The property has very steep spiral staircases and low door frames. The shower was very low and anyone above 5ft 5 would struggle to shower comfortably. There is a very large cleaning fee which was not worth it as there was dirt on all of the window ledges, the shower was dirty and there were hairs in the bath and sink. We pulled out a chopping board to use which still had dried on meat on it.

Good character cottage near the pier. Tucked in beside the cliff, not a history here. Obviously you’ll smell the chip fat from nearby restaurants . It’s so close to everything, house itself was nice, cosy and clean, with great amenities. Could improve it by having a bin storage a second loo and cleaning the garden table. Parking was even provided with tickets, but you can walk everywhere.
