Located in the sleepy village of Longhoughton, Crab Cottage is a newly decorated holiday home with plenty of charm. Surrounded by beautiful walks and breathtaking beaches, you’ll soon forget the stresses of everyday life here. Whether you’re looking for a tranquil getaway or a dog friendly adventure, this spacious property will certainly provide the perfect base for your stay with Alnwick, Amble and Rothbury just a short drive away.

The space

Crab Cottage is a beautiful semi-detached property packed with plenty of perks. Inside you’ll find a homely living room, two large bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and off-street parking, along with a spacious garden.

With beautiful interiors and a neutral colour palette, the living room is welcoming and snug. Relax on one of the two sofas with a good book or play games with your loved ones. Modern in style, the space also includes a large coffee table, 55 inch flat screen Smart TV and delightful ornaments.

Head next door and you’ll find the dining room. With a rectangular wooden table and seating for all guests, there is ample space for your party to enjoy meals together.

With light coloured walls and sky-blue tiles, the kitchen has a bright and airy feel. Grey wooden cabinets and modern fittings fit perfectly with the nature of the property. Fully equipped for all self-catering staycations, you’ll have access to an oven, hob, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer and dishwasher during your stay.

Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms. Bold in colour, both bedrooms have spruce blue walls to create cosy and stylish spaces. You’ll enjoy your sleep at Crab Cottage as both the king size bed in the first bedroom and twin single beds in the second bedroom feature crisp white linens and plush bedding. Please note that both bedrooms can either be made up as kings or twins so please contact us before your stay to let us know which layout is best suited for your group.

The bathroom at Crab Cottage comes in the form of a clean and modern suite with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.

Also located next to the bathroom is an additional WC.

Outside you’ll find a large garden with outdoor furniture on a patio area and artificial grass with a football goal. A real treat, this outside space is an added luxury. You can enjoy al fresco dining with your party and drinks outside as the evening draws near.

Guest access

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Crab Cottage are accessed via a key safe box and full details will be provided prior to check in.

Private on-site parking is available for up to two vehicles.

A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Crab Cottage per reservation.

We had a great few days in at Crab Cottage. The accommodation was exactly what we were expecting. Really well put together, clean and welcoming. We found the location to be really good for exploring the rest of the area, with Alnwick, Amble and Alnmouth all within easy reach. In the immediate vicinity, we found that the Running Fox bakery just at the top of the road was lovely with some really delicious looking food. Longhoughton beach was also just a 20 minute walk away and it was a beautiful spot. Alnmouth beach was excellent and really suited our young children with rock pools and a shallow river just before the sea that they could safely play in. Finally, we also really enjoyed Alnwick Gardens which was really fun to explore. Overall we couldn't recommend Crab Cottage any more and would definitely stay again when we look to spend more time in Northumberland.

Overall a lovely stay for my mum & dads Diamond Anniversary, I would suggest a hand rail on the stairs, my parents are fairly fit & in their eighties but they were very nervous with the stairs as the stairs turn near the top but there’s no rail till half way down, children would also benefit from this, there’s a lovely garden, our small dog did manage to get into next doors garden! Not the cleanest of places but hopefully this will be ut right by the host/cleaners, we did enjoy our stay. Longhaughton is a lovely village & we went to lots of surrounding places nearby, Beadnell, Seahouses, Craster, Newton by the Sea to name a few.
