Clarence Place is a charming mid-terrace property, resting in the bustling seaside town of Whitby. There are three bedrooms within the property, including two doubles and a single, and a large family bathroom. The ground floor is home to a kitchen and dining room, while outside you’ll find an enclosed yard. Clarence Place is a delightful dwelling for a families or groups of friends looking to explore the coastal delights of Whitby.
The space
With a woodburning stove and high ceiling, the living room has a traditional grand period property feel. The perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring the local area, you can fire up the stove and enjoy a night in with your loved ones. Relax on one of the comfy sofas and turn on the LCD Sky TV. Whether you are having a lazy morning or cosy evening in with your fellow guests, you can keep up with your favourite shows.

Head to the kitchen and you’ll find a beautifully decorated space. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, the kitchen perfectly combines modern and traditional, featuring appliances such as a dishwasher and washing machine. From crockery and cutlery to teapots and tumblers, the property has everything you could need.

Next door is the dining area which is the ideal spot for family meals and sociable gatherings with friends. There is a log burner in the room so you can keep cosy as you dine.

Take the stairs up to the first floor to the master bedroom. Home to a comfortable king size bed with luxury white bed linen, you’ll certainly enjoy your sleep at Clarence Place. It also features plenty of storage space for that extra sense of home.

In the second bedroom there is a plush double bed, while the third bedroom, located on the second floor, has been designed to be comfortable for children, teenagers, or friends joining you on your seaside holiday. This room has a single bed, along with a chest of drawers and bedside lamp.

The bathroom can be found on the first floor and has been tastefully decorated to be both comfortable, stylish and yet still practical. With a round walk-in shower for those mornings when you want to be out exploring, to a freestanding bath for those nights when you want a bit of ‘me’ time! Towels are provided so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own.
Guest access
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the house are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to check in.

A parking scratch card is provided, allowing for free on-street parking in Whitby’s ‘W’ zone on a first come, first served basis.

A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Clarence Place per reservation.

House is very tired not worth the money at all.
Rugs are a safety hazard as they are curling up , both my husband and I tripped over them .
Information should have warned about the cobbled hill as this was not very good for people with mobility issues..

The location was great, lovely house, it has lots of character and finishes touches. Check in instructions were clear, the host was very helpful and quick to respond to messages

The only thing I didn't like was the living room had a strong dog odour, I appreciate this is a dog friendly property but the place could benefit from some air fresheners

Excellent location, super clean and easy to check in and out. Clear instructions for the things we needed. Little touches made a huge difference, tea towels, fresh milk and biscuits and everything you need to get comfortable after a long journey were provided. Parking wasn’t an issue, we always found a space somewhere in the zone, even in the school holidays.
Top tip, take slippers or sliders if going in the winter to keep toes warm on the natural wooden floors and tiled kitchen floor. The wood burners are operational and can be used (take narrow logs), you can drive right outside the property to load and unload if you don’t take long; it’s a super narrow street so a small car and semi-confident driving would be a bonus!

We stayed as 4 adults 1 child and pets for 3 nights and the location and house were perfect for our needs. Everything was as expected with a few additional touches such as kit kats left out for everyone, dog treats and dog bowls. There were mountains of books, wifi, tea coffee even a pint of milk left in the fridge for us. My son loved the upper floor as it had a playroom/reading room as well as the single bedroom which he thought was amazing as he had these to himself. All the beds were super comfy.
The house is a 2 minute walk for West Cliff carpark which we ended up using as we only were given parking for 2 days when we were there Saturday - Tuesday but this was not an issue as so easy to get to.
The house was clean and tidy, everything was in full working order with no issues whatso ever. We would definitely have no issues staying here again. The only advice would be if you are used to drinking from mugs or anything bigger than a small cup consider taking your own!
