Excellent clear communication from host from outset. Walking into the property for first time - WOW! What a stunning place. Just like the photos inside. What the listing doesn’t convey is the excellent location with views over the harbour & sea and just a stones throw from the Abbey. The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean and obviously well maintained. The instructions to locate the property were clear (though we couldn’t believe we were going through a little historic arch to what seemed like a pedestrian area & for this reason I’d recommend arriving in daylight just so you can see where you are going) & parking is right by the property. A photo of the front door on the listing would be a helpful. Very close to the famous 199 steps to walk into town - taxis easy to get so no need to climb up them to get back! Plenty to do in Whitby even out of season & some great restaurants. Once you have stayed here you won’t want to stay anywhere else in Whitby.

we really enjoyed our stay at this property. fabulous location, great with pets, super spacious and interiors were to a really high quality finish. we thought it was great value and we really look forward to booking it again for our next stay.

What a lovely apartment, beautiful views over the river and town, the brewery next door with lovely pizzas!! Ample parking, although the arch and turns are a bit tight for a large car, the lounge/dining area was lovely with a log burner.

Great location and lovely accommodation. It was perfectly clean. It would have been nicer to have more than 2 dishwasher tablets as we ran out of clean cups etc and there wasn’t any washing up liquid, so 2 tablets is not enough. Small note for others is that although called Caedmons view, the actual house sign states 1 Caedmon cottage. Saw no reference at all to Caedmons view. Ref parking you have to drive into the Abbey grounds and turn right, which feels odd, but the host sends out a location and helpful video. Overall a lovely find. Fully recommend

Thoroughly enjoyable though we feel that a 4pm check in is a bit late especially when compared with our other Airbnb stays. A minor point with the property wa# that there was no hanging space for clothes.

Amazing location! Incredible views. I was in two minds whether to book this due to some negative feedback, but I was glad that we went ahead. Its a lovely apartment, very spacious and clean. Lovely big garden, oh, and those views! It's located within the grounds of the Abbey, which was fab. Clear instructions were sent on how to locate the property; you can't just rely on the postcode. 199 steps down to the town of Whitby. Whitby Brewery is only around the corner, where they serve fab beer and oven-fired pizza's. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would recommend.

The location of the apartment is wonderful, the view spectacular and the apartment itself impressive but there are some failings: More specific directions required Security light not working, dangerous as there is a step which hasn't been clearly marked - the light was pointed out by a previous guest, why hasn't this been repaired? No heating on arrival - took until Saturday evening to warm up. Why wasn't this on? No firewood or fire irons No additional blankets There are few lights in the area so a torch for guests would be useful We received a welcome message and when we responded with our concerns received a message back which didn’t address the issues raised. We certainly would wish to return but only if all the above issues have been attended to..

We had a great few days as a family. Awesome views over Whitby from the property, great for heading down the 199 steps into Whitby or heading off along the coastal path for a walk to Robin Hoods Bay.

Caedmon's view is in an ideal location by Whitby Abbey, with amazing views over Whitby from the windows. The place is very nice and modern with a large kitchen space. My partner and I stayed here just the two of us, but there is more than enough space for 4 people to stay comfortably. The only issue we had was finding the place, as it wasn't very clear where to park, although we did arrive in the dark so that didn't help. Overall we had a nice stay.

Take my advice and DO NOT book a holiday with Host & Stay. These people are serial offenders when it comes to poor levels of cleanliness, maintenance and complaint resolution. You only have to read some of the poor reviews on their own website (e.g. Raven House, Robin Hood’s Bay) to see how bad they are. I took my disabled friend to Whitby for what may well be her final holiday. Caedmon’s View seemed ideally situated within the grounds of the Abbey but our stay was badly let down by Host & Stay who obviously didn’t care about customer satisfaction. We reported numerous issues to them and nothing was done: windows filthy, window sills covered with dust & dead flies, outside light not working, incorrect address, only one usable patio chair for a flat that sleeps 4. The list goes on. I filled out their complaints form and they said they would get back to me within 7-10 working days. 11 working days later and they had done nothing. Finally I involved Airbnb who processed a refund.

Beautiful place to stay that is convenient to access all along the Cleveland Way. Bonus is the on-site parking and the Whitby Brewery literally 2 minutes away.
