Whilst the cottage and location were good there were a few problems encountered.
Heating- only the radiator in the living room was on , which was far too warm and couldn’t be turned down. Cold bathroom and bedroom as those radiators couldn’t be switched on.
Dog friendly - no secure place to let the dog off the lead as there are gaps around the perimeter( chicken wire not secured) and gaps in the gates. I have a beagle so even with 90% recall she would have been off if she had the scent of something. No dog bowls, blankets etc
Digital guide book- could do with instructions on how to use the shower and details for the nearest convenience stores.

Location of the cottage was superb, the village was well located with good amenities. Cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped except that there wasn't a corkscrew! Great pubs serving good food within a few miles are worth a visit as are Scarborough, Pickering, York and Castle Howard all within easy reach. Local bakery come deli come cafe across the road was very useful serving a good range of items and was open six days a week.
Electric shower over bath was not really powerful enough and stairs to bedrooms difficult to negotiate with heavy suitcases and definitely not suitable for the infirm. Instructions in guidebook not specific enough on how to turn electric heaters on and it was by chance that I found the isolator switch down on the right hand side. The pub next door was closed on Monday and Tuesday which was disappointing but I was told that it will be under new ownership soon and will then be open 7 days a week.
