Great cottage right in the centre of the village - although not too busy or noisy. Great pub within 50 metres.
We found the cottage to be very homely, well equipped kitchen and very spacious living area.
Bedrooms and adequately sized with comfortable beds.
Although we never used the outside area (due to the time of year) it did look very good and we could imagine it would be great in the summer.
Constant and very prompt communication from the host.
We would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

Lovely weekend stay here with all we needed in a great location. Only improvement would be to the mattress in the front bedroom which was not very comfortable!

Location, roomy, well equipped (for the most part), comfortable, dog friendly and easy parking.
Complicated heating system , having to unblock the shower drain on day one

House was clean, comfortable, roomy with a well equipped kitchen and clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. It was right next to a very nice pub so excellent location. We liked the electric fire for the cool nights.
A bbq would be appreciated.

The cottages are great , although a small village a bit tricky to locate , perhaps need a sign on the front cottage? The neighbours we very use to re direct is . Not a major issue
The management company were very poor . Never sent the code for the lock box, but sent the after welcome , which had no code , which then had a phone number and email if a problem . The mobile services is poor in that area , so difficult to ring, but did get a part message on phone . Sent email , with the use of neighbours wifi . Urgently needed code as getting late and raining. No reply . Lucky the owner of the place walked by, as happened to be in village.
Password code didn’t work for wifi. I asked and was given another wrong one. Never received a a response with the correct one . Nice neighbours shared theirs.
The cottage is very nice and a great set up . The village is amazing , the management company ruined the experience with their poor or lack of
urgency. Still waiting for lock box code and wifi password!

Very nice spacious and stylish cottage, superb location in a quiet yard off the green in beautiful Hutton-le-Hole. Excellent pub, bakery / café and folk museum a few steps away. Smart new kitchen (well equipped) and bathroom. Comfortable beds. Useful garden area, great for dogs. Host and Stay were prompt and helpful when we couldn't access the wifi, which is vital here.
Online guide / app with detailed info is a very good idea to make the stay hassle free, but there were important gaps / out of date info, e.g. we couldn't activate or adjust the heating at all, nor find Freeview channels on the TV. The owner was changing the internet / wifi while we were there, without telling us or Host and Stay. Hutton-le-Hole has no phone signal so the wifi is the only way of communcating.

We had such a wonderful stay! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The location was perfect, close to everything with the pub being just next door and the bakery over the road, but still quiet and relaxing. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A lovely cottage in a central location of the village with lots close by including a pub, cafes and Rural life museum. Nice and quiet too with not much passing traffic.
Is dog friendly, there's only a small fenced area at the front of the property but out the back a short distance away from the cottage is a lovely walled green which is perfect for some running space!
The property has some lovely features and was a perfect size and space for our group. Mainly clean just a few cobwebs! Some of the furniture is a bit uncomfortable and as mentioned in some of the other reviews not many personal touches. Would also make sure you bring extra tea bags/coffee/dishcloth!
The main issue which let the property down was a lack of WiFi on arrival and with limited service it was difficult to contact anyone. Thankfully we saw someone who knew a solution but this could've easily been communicated prior to our stay.

Lovely cottage and excellent location with a coffee shop just over the road, comfy beds, very clean, more space than expected downstairs, plentiful parking and with the housekeeper and owners on hand nothing was too much trouble. Given we had a 4 night stay, the kitchen could do with a few more implements for cooking, more tea towels (just one provided) and as with many rentals a few more hooks to hang up wet towels! Also the listing includes bikes which is not accurate, and although I called Host & Stay for the combination lock for the cycle store (to put our own bikes somewhere secure) they never returned my call, the owners were very happy to help us.

Lovely little cottage in a stunning location.
The cottage was exactly as described and a perfect to explore the North Yorkshire moors.
If you’re looking for a great base for your holiday then you can’t really go wrong with this. If you’re looking for that personal touch from your host then this won’t be for you.
There were 2 of us and our dog staying and it was the perfect sized property.
Overall a great stay.

Property and location was lovely. Lovely cottage with stunning views and all amenities
The only negative comment I would leave is finding the property. There is no signs to let you know where it is we spent 40 mins trying to find the place and also no phone signal in the village, had to access bakery WiFi to get a signal to call the host to find out how to find this hidden gem. A sign up on the wall or gate to let you know this is the moorfield cottages holiday let etc would be helpful for anyone visiting in the future. Other than that I can't fault anything.

Beautiful location, very pretty cottage and nicely decorated. Was a great addition having the communal washing machine and tumble dryer. The location was so quiet and the locals are all so friendly. (Even the village sheep)
The beds weren’t comfortable. The double wasn’t as bad as the single beds and they definitely need replacing. A very unpleasant smell from the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Also the towels are way too small. Apart from these minor flaws we had a lovely stay.

Instructions to the property were great until we got into Hutton le hole itself, but there were no lane/street signs for the last little bit and as there is no wifi or phone reception in the village at all, it meant we struggled to actually get to the cottage itself. Eventually we asked at the local pub and the very nice Landlord came out of the pub and took us to the cottage, its that close. The pub was delightful, a stone’s throw from the cottage and served delicious food, highly recommend! The cottage itself was absolutely gorgeous, just like the photos, but even better. It was spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds and whiter than white crisp sheets and bedding. The property management company were great, very quick to respond to our emails. Our only complaint was the heating, we could not get ANY of the radiators to work, despite following the instruction in the guide book and the instructions from the property management company. Luckily there was a free standing plug in heater in one of the wardrobes, which we plugged in the bedroom shut the door and warmed one room up at a time. Apart from this everything else was great, and we would definitely stay again.

Beautiful location in very picturesque village, lovely, cosy little cottage with added views (and sounds :-)) of the recently - reintroduced village sheep. Easy parking. Communal (between the three neighbouring holiday cottages) laundry with tumble dryer very handy. Property manager helpful and responsive.
Be aware that there is little/no telephone/mobile reception in the village so you depend on the property WiFi for communication and television.
As other posters have said, be sure to bring own washing up liquid and toiletries if staying more than a couple of nights.

**5 Stars – Perfect Peaceful Escape in Hutton-le-Hole**
We had such a lovely stay at Byre Cottage! The place is exactly as described—charming, clean, and full of character. It’s a beautifully converted barn with rustic touches, a super comfy bed, and a cozy lounge area.
The location is absolutely stunning—right in the heart of Hutton-le-Hole, one of the prettiest villages in the North York Moors. We loved waking up to the sound of sheep in the fields and enjoyed sitting outside with a coffee in the morning, soaking in the peaceful countryside views.
The village is lovely to wander around, with a great pub and a tearoom just a short walk away. It's also a brilliant base for walks and exploring nearby villages and moorland.

Location was perfect - cottage was large enough for 4 adults & 2 dogs
Living area comfortable & heating worked well
Bathroom was good
Beds were very uncomfortable, mattresses of poor quality
Kitchen poorly equipped - not even a dishcloth or tea towel & not advised that we needed to bring these
Directions to the property were not adequate - took
Us a while to find it & no mobile signal in the village - again could have been told this

Location was fantastic easy walk to all eateries etc.
Really comfy and well equipped
Over the bank holiday weekend we were staying and there was no way to contact anyone. We had a problem trying to work out how to turn the shower on and couldn't get in touch with anyone. We eventually worked it out but it wasn't really obvious. A note in the guide book saying 'press button on side of control for rose/hand held to turn shower on'. This would be really helpful. Also the instructions for the heating in the guide book did not match what you actually had to do.

It is all about the location - it was wonderful to be in the heart of such a lovely little village. The house was also very cosy and clean.
It would have been useful to have a few essentials in the kitchen - washing up liquid, cooking oil etc. The nearest shop is a drive away so this would have improved what was otherwise a lovely place.

Whilst the cottage and location were good there were a few problems encountered.
Heating- only the radiator in the living room was on , which was far too warm and couldn’t be turned down. Cold bathroom and bedroom as those radiators couldn’t be switched on.
Dog friendly - no secure place to let the dog off the lead as there are gaps around the perimeter( chicken wire not secured) and gaps in the gates. I have a beagle so even with 90% recall she would have been off if she had the scent of something. No dog bowls, blankets etc
Digital guide book- could do with instructions on how to use the shower and details for the nearest convenience stores.

Location of the cottage was superb, the village was well located with good amenities. Cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped except that there wasn't a corkscrew! Great pubs serving good food within a few miles are worth a visit as are Scarborough, Pickering, York and Castle Howard all within easy reach. Local bakery come deli come cafe across the road was very useful serving a good range of items and was open six days a week.
Electric shower over bath was not really powerful enough and stairs to bedrooms difficult to negotiate with heavy suitcases and definitely not suitable for the infirm. Instructions in guidebook not specific enough on how to turn electric heaters on and it was by chance that I found the isolator switch down on the right hand side. The pub next door was closed on Monday and Tuesday which was disappointing but I was told that it will be under new ownership soon and will then be open 7 days a week.

We loved our stay in this lovely cottage. Perfect location for our Xmas break. We didn’t make it to the local The Crown due to its Xmas opening times. However, we had a lovely walk to Lastingham and visited The Blacksmiths Arms for a mid walk drink. It was so lovely and friendly that we returned that evening for an amazing meal in our own little dog friendly snug.
We visited Dolby Forest on NYE and stopped at Thornton Le Dale on our way home.
We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

Lovely clean, comfortable spacious cottage . Close to a lovely village pub serving lovely food.
Lovely comfortable bed with spotless linen.
No cleaning products to keep things clean. I usually take my own but due to booking at the last minute I forgot to take washing up liquid, spray etc.
Although the towels were soft and clean they were too small.
Absolutely freezing when we arrived & struggled to keep it warm on the first night
Not a problem on the second night. Much cosier.

Stunning location. Beautiful, unspoilt part of the country. Equally beautiful and unique village location, but with a bit of a buzz about it. We loved it!
As far as accommodation goes, however, you get what you pay for. Perhaps I’m being mean and I appreciate it is a very old property but a tea towel, dish cloth and chopping board wouldn’t go amiss, for starters, particularly when you know you are looking after someone else’s property.
Also a bit cheeky to add extra cost in terms of insurance AFTER booking. Surely this should be part of the booking process?

We loved our stay in Hutton-le-Hole and the cottage was perfect for a family of 4. Great location and a lovely little cottage. There wasn’t enough details provided by the host, for example there is a notice board in the kitchen without any information on it. There is a lovely garden area and small field at the back of the property with space for a BBQ etc. If it wasn’t for the gardener’s being present during our stay we wouldn’t have known that it was available for us to use. There’s also a shared shed which hosts a washing machine & freezer which we found by chance. More information provided by the hosts would be very useful.
The property says it is pet friendly which is fine, however the rug in the living room could do with replacing as it is covered in pet hairs. Overall the cottage was clean and tidy, but there were some cobwebs and dusty areas so it could definitely do with a more thorough deep clean. The beds were comfy and the bathroom & Kitchen were nice and clean.

Cute little cottage nestled right under the north York moors. Ample parking with a lovely garden (read field) for the dog to run around in and beautifully decorated throughout.
Unfortunately this property was listed as family friendly and the host specifically clarified that this property was “suitable for under twos” but had no travel cot or high chair available which wasn’t ideal but not a deal breaker. However The stairs are an open wooden staircase with quite wobbly handrails and the three bottom steps are bare stone, and all the walls down stairs are also bare stone which is beautifully in keeping but really not great for tiny people.
This company also charges a sneaky £25 damage fee outside of air b&b fees which was again annoying but not a deal breaker.
