The place was clean and tidy,had everything i needed for my stay.5 minute walk to the beach and shops and eating spots.And if cricket is your thing sit outside overlooking the Cricket ground.will visit again.👍🏻

Scarborough is a great town, with really friendly people and fantastic scenery along the coast (as well as being one of the few places on the British coastline where you can regularly see dolphins). This apartment is located just over the road from the cliffs that overlook North Beach. You couldn't want a better location.

The Bowlers Retreat is a smart, clean, comfortable and spacious studio flat with great views over the cricket ground; perfect for a weekend but let down a little by an apparent lack of maintenance. We enjoyed our stay there but there were a number of things that weren't right such as lights which didn't work properly. The young trees commented on by others staying, are growing too close to the side of the building at the back. Their branches scrape on the flat roof and guttering of the property during windy or stormy weather, making a lot of noise. The kitchen facilities are good but barely anything besides washing up liquid is provided for washing up by hand. The bathroom all worked fine including the shower, except for the heated towel rail which didn't seem to get warm. You can park across the road during evenings or overnight, otherwise there are a couple of NCP car parks 5 mins walk away, around the corner offering 24hr parking at a favourable rate.

We stayed at this apartment hosted by Host & Stay from the 28th of August to the 2nd of September, and it was a really lovely experience. The location was perfect—just a short walk to local shops, which made everything super convenient. Despite being close to amenities, the apartment was very quiet, making it a peaceful place to relax after a day out. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and check-in was straightforward through Airbnb. We had no issues during our stay, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, well-located spot in Scarborough!

The studio was cleaned to a good standard but the walls and floors had stains on them Including a large iron mark . It was well used . The wetroom was a bad design and once we had showered you had to paddle to the toilet and sink for the rest of the stay . Studio good location but had to park elsewhere.

My 10 year old son and I had the perfect weekend. Apartment was fine for our needa. Outside space to sit and look over the cricket field was an added bonus. Everything was in good working order and the bed was comfortable. The space is small but it’s absolutely ideal for 2 people and feels more spacious and bespoke than a hotel room. Would love to stay again and recommend it. The location was good. Best car park is castle road, about 8 mins walk and cheap.

The view of the cricket ground from this place is just staggering. The studio design made for easy access and a great living space for a few nights for just the two of us. A couple of niggles for the price; huge patches of damp in the entrance where plaster is crumbling from the wall, VERY smelly drains in the bathroom and a broken toilet seat on arrival which made us anxious given the hefty damages deposit that is taken before arrival (this has put me off using Host Stay again if I’m honest). Other than that, this didn’t both us too much as the location, living space and the view as cricket fans was just brilliant.

Lovely apartment, good location, would definitely stay again. Only issue was oven didn’t work until last full day which meant we had to eat out most of the holiday. Communication was good but took a few days to resolve problem.

It was a very nice stay. The flat looked exactly like in the photos and was very clean. Parking was not available on site but a very easy 6 mins walk away. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and I’d gladly come again.

I loved my stay in this flat. despite being on a relatively main road, it was incredibly quiet, felt really private, and peaceful. all the amenities you'd want. A great space with tasteful decoration. Felt right at home immediately. Within walking distance of shops and most importantly, a beautiful beach! Host and stay provide really helpful instructions to make your stay stress-free.

Great little find, good location at the quieter end of scarborough but near enough to enjoy the parks, beach and fun. Modern decor with an awesome view at the back over the cricket ground and a great use of the limited space in the apartment.

This apartment was perfectly located a five minute walk from North Bay. It was beautifully finished and so clean. I absolutely loved my stay here and would come back in a heartbeat.

The photographer here forgot to take a picture of the view, which is just as good as one of the stands at the cricket ground and room enough for 2-4 adults to watch the game, those otherwise occupied able to get away from it easily too. Really good well designed refurb. Loved the 4 glass external doors very airy. Hosts are not on site but neighbours proved very helpful!

Absolutely beautiful little apartment. It is ground floor and has the best view onto the cricket ground, which is beautiful when the sun sets! It is so close to both North and South bay, with a 10 minute walk to both. We parked in the station car park as it was cheaper than other local car parks but we used the free zone discs to park up and unload/load our stuff. Milk was provided which was a lovely touch. The bed was extremely comfy too. Because there was no WiFi, it really allowed me and my partner to spend some time properly connecting. We loved our stay, thank you.

Future guests need to be aware that this apartment - does not have any WIFI - has almost no storage space - has a wet bathroom (not made clear in pictures) - is a parking nightmare outside (day passes are not provided as they are at other similar properties in the area) - is not a one-bedroom apartment (as we were told) but is, in fact, a studio apartment It is in a fantastic location for the cricket ground
