The property was beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated. We really appreciated the space, games room and comfort. The provision of games , (including spare batteries!), books and paper/colouring was appreciated. A couple more toilet rolls would have been welcomed 🙂. We bought logs for the log burner (none provided) but didn’t use them as the property was very warm. The Christmas tree was a nice touch.
Pickering centre was an easy walk (with 2x 5 year olds), albeit down a fairly busy road. The weather wasn’t great so we very much welcomed the comfort of the property. Many thanks.

We had a great stay over Christmas. It is a lovely house and the Christmas tree was a nice touch.
Very clean, everything we needed for our stay.
The games room and pool table were a bonus.

The property was beautiful, lots of character and very clean, with good quality furniture and high quality finishes.
Plenty of kitchen utensils, crockery etc. Plenty of space for two couples

Very clean & well specified property with the bonus of a games room which is great for children. Great heating system which takes very little time to adjust to the desired temperature.

We booked through booking.com & requested a cot for a 2 year old which was confirmed. On arrival though, it didn't look like there was a cot so we called Host & Stay to be told the property doesn't provide a cot & this was a confusion between booking.com & Host & Stay. However, we discovered a travel cot in a cupboard (which was well stocked with DVDs, games , shopping bags, etc) which, once assembled, served the purpose perfectly. Phew!

Badger Cottage was just perfect for us 4 girls weekend get together . Great location, the house was beautiful ,very clean, had everything you needed and more . Comfy beds ,great showers . Loved the games room . Easy walk into Pickering , Recommend Figaro’s Italian restaurant ( book as very busy ) food delicious !
Only downside is street parking on a busy road !

I was reluctant to write a review, but badgering emails kept coming.
Overall we had a wonderful time and the cottage was lovely.
But we had two issues, one of which was resolved during our stay - the keys to the games room were not apparent, and we were informed where they were supposed to be. This was not the case, but the host eventually were able to explain that they were in an adjoining property and how to get to them. Thank you.
The bigger issue was the downstairs shower/ loo plumbing. Right from the start it was not right with water rising in the loo and gurgles in the shower. Despite reporting this within 24 hours, nothing was done and eventually toilet waste was coming up in the shower!

No locks on toilets just a sign on the door to turn if vacant or not.

Lovely clean, comfortable home which has everything you need. Great beds and showers and well equipped kitchen. Parking is on the opposite side of the road or in nearby streets on a first come first served basis so you can't always park outside the house but we always found somewhere to park not far away. Great base for exploring the area.

Detail of cleaning not good enough. Boiler not working night 1 and no follow up or apology from the owners or management company. A little dark on the ground floor. Too many messages reminding me about breakages and check out time during my stay

Badger's Cottage was a great place to stay for me and my 3 friends for a weekend in Pickering.
Clean and comfortable and near all the amenities of the town.
