We’re still waiting for a response from the company as the boiler wasn’t working on our arrival, no heating or hot water for the first 24 hours of our stay. A mere 2 degrees outside 🥶and when we eventually got to speak to a workman , he talked my husband through how to fix the problem!!!!

The stay and location great, areas of the property could be cleaned better, stains on bedding and showers dirty with previous tenants shower gel in the cubicle, probably lacking in sufficient towel and loo rolls and kitchen utensils.

The house was very comfortable and it's in a lovely, quiet spot. The open plan kitchen/lounge makes it very sociable and perfect for six people. It's close to the sea front and a short walk to the shops, cafes and bars. The crockery could do with a refresh as a lot of it is chipped and a few extra pieces of cutlery would be useful. A great place to stay, we had a lovely New Year here

Excellent location and hosts were very good at coming back to me on any questions we had. A few issues with guttering out the front when it rained heavily/gushed down the front of the house, scuff/marks/stains on furniture and carpets etc (only to be expected with pet friendly places with carpets) and tumble drier didn’t work. Otherwise it was everything we needed, very spacious, great location and close to everything in town, comfortable beds and excellent water pressure (the dream!)

We had a lovely stay in Whitby! The property is well presented with spacious bedrooms and fabulous showers in the bathrooms. The living area was great - light-filled with lovely kitchen, dining and seating area. The online house manual was helpful especially for controlling the heating. The best part was the location as we were in walking distance of everything Whitby has to offer - including seeing dolphins and a seal on our first stroll down to the beach! Overall, we had a great time and the property made a fantastic base.

Was a really nice place to stay! However, cleanliness was an issue. Stains and marks everywhere (walls and carpets) additionally there was hair all over our shower which wasn’t nice. Overall though, a lovely place and great location

We only booked a 2 night stay for 4 adults. No hot water for our first evening or morning showers was pretty unpleasant. Not sure how the cleaner had not noticed? Not repaired until the afternoon of the day after we arrived.

Fantastic property and location. The apartment is part of a beautifully converted old building offering a blend of modern comfort and original features. The living space is lightfilled and airy - you can throw open the windows and let the outside in. There is a green just opposite so it was also very practical for getting our dog out for his early and pre-bed stroll. The views from this part of Whitby are stunning so the humans enjoyed the stroll too! In short, it exceeded our expectations and we loved staying here.

The Mount is extremely well located in Whitby, close to the beach and centre of town. The house is lovely. Light, airy, and great comfortable beds. All kitchen and bathroom consumables are provided which is a bonus.

Wonderful holiday home, beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped and welcoming. We loved the open feel of the living space and the fact that we could open two large windows - the weather was superb … and hot! We ate in, sometimes, and found everything we needed in the kitchen for preparing meals. The showers were lovely, spacious and powerful. Being able to access a private parking space was an added bonus and was easy to drive into. The only thing to be aware of is that there are two flights of stairs from the main bedroom to the living area. The second and third bedroom being on the ground floor. There is a toilet on each of the three floors so that was convenient. We will definitely be booking with Host and Stay again - they are superb.

The place was great. Location, parking etc were all really good. It did seem however that it hadn't been cleaned properly before our stay. There were quite a lot of stuff in the kitchen and in the living room which we had to hoover ourselves (toddler is milk free so didn't want to risk him eating anything). Also foil was left in the oven from the previous occupants. Quite a lot of hair was also found in the rooms

Very comfortable and bright living room and kitchen that was also very spacious. The location was superb with easy access to both sides of the estuary and centre of Whitby. The access by key safe was well ideal. Would definitely stay there again.

The place was fine and parking was very close. However, when we got there the sink had dirty water in it, there was no plug in one of the bathroom sinks, no spare loo rolls. Some of the furniture was a little grubby ( the large sofa). It would have been nice if we could have parked earlier, instead of paying to park. Now this is no fault of the owners, but just be aware that if you don't mind seagull crap all over your car every morning, then you will be ok.

We had a wonderful 5 night break at 2 The Mount with extended family. Everything was exactly as described and we had a very comfortable stay. There were lots of places to wander around and the walk into town was no more than 5 minutes.

I had a fantastic stay at No. 2 The Mount for my 50th birthday. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well furnished. The heating was easy to work. The sofa and beds very comfortable. It was a home from home and in beautiful surroundings. I would definitely recommend a stay at the mount.

This place is a gem of a find. Great location in Whitby and the private parking was a good plus. Accommodation was lovely. It was clean, light, airy and very comfortable. We had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. Communication with Dale was brilliant. Constructive criticism - supply of foil, cling film and baking parchment would be useful. It helps keep cooking trays clean during use and stops spills in the fridge when you have opened something. A decent serving spoon would also be useful and maybe a couple more baking type trays/tins. This by no means would stop us from renting again it would just make things a bit easier. My Mum had the best birthday! Thank you for having us.

My family and I had a fantastic stay at the mount. The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk to everything, you wouldn't need a car. The mount was a lovely place to stay, it had everything we needed and more. Our host with was very responsive. I will defintly be returning and recommending the mount to friends and family.

Great location in the town with the added bonus of a private parking space. The property is within easy walking distance of the beach & shops. The beds were comfortable and there was ample space for 4 adults & a dog. One tip for future guests is that once you get into Whitby the mobile phone signal isn’t great so be sure to screenshot the directions & map for the location of the property before you get into Whitby otherwise you’ll struggle to find it!

Stayed over the Christmas Period, disappointed no Christmas Tree or Decorations had not been put up. Had to purchase one to make it feel like Christmas for our daughter. Place was clean, however stains on the carpets and quite a few scuff marks on the walls, could probably do with a quick touch up. Location spot on. After we left (10am), I received a call stating we were still parked there at 13.20 ... we were actually on the road on the way home. Perhaps taking note of the vehicle make and model before we arrived would be more helpful for the cleaners, so they know which vehicle belongs to what property instead of being accused? Overall a lovely holiday with the family.

We loved this house. It was a great location with a parking space. All the rooms were great and spacious. Everything was furnished beautifully. We would definitely stay again. The only thing that stops us giving this place an excellent rating is the absence of a few things in the kitchen. There were only two dishwasher tablets left and a tiny amount of washing up liquid. We were there for 4 nights so had to go out and buy dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll and washing up liquid. Other than that a great place and excellent value for money.

We stayed for 2 nights. Location was right in the centre and within easy distance of all the attractions. The place itself was clean and exactly as described. There were a few things that could be improved for future guests (tumble drier doesn’t work and the airer isn’t functional) which the host has been notified and I’m sure will rectify. It’s our second time staying with Host & Stay (different locations) and we have been pleased with both stays. Would recommend

Number 2 The Mount is a great property - it was extremely clean and well equipped, furnished and maintained. It was exactly as described in the listing and was very comfortable to stay in. The location was great - easy access to the all the main areas of Whitby but not too noisy. The information provided about the property was very helpful and gave lots of suggestions for places to try - we tried a couple of them and they were worth a visit. The communication from the host was very good and they were very helpful. Would definitely use the property again when we visit the area.

The property itself overall was as described however on arrival our parking space was taken by another party and I couldn’t contact the host as they use a call centre who can’t do anything to help. This set the tone for the rest of the stay. We then found mould spots on the bed sheet in the single room and had to pay to park after no help from the host. I was then offered a refund for parking costs and have never received any follow up after stating they would resolve the issue. Such a shame as this has so much potential to work better if they have a local host who can deal with the issues at hand.

First of all, the place is great. It accommodated 5 of us easily with good location (albeit at the top of a hill). The property is split on three levels with the dining/living area on the top. You enter on the middle floor (bedrooms) and the ensuite is on the lower floor. Well equipped kitchen and a nice large fridge/freezer. Jam on the caked would have been to have A/C or a fan as we were so lucky to have hot weather and the living area (even with windows open) was hot. But nice weather!! so nothing really to complain about. My big issue is that the 'family run' host and stay is the opposite of that. When using the airbnb app, the responses were from a chat bot. It's not airbnb! When i asked for check in instructions, the chat bot said they would follow a few days before arrival and i was asking this the day before! When i said i was arriving tomorrow it then replied it was looking forward to our arrival. A call to the friendly Philippine call center quickly fixed things though.

We had a fantastic stay at 2 The Mount & the property was beautiful & as described a luxury experience. Absolutely loved the wooden beams in the living space. Superb location, everything within walking distance. We initially struggled to find the carparking spot from the Google maps link which takes you via Cliff St & some very narrow, awkward roads. Whereas it would have been easier & more direct if it sent you via Khyber pass and East Crescent & via Upgang Lane & Crescent Avenue.

We had such a great time. Perfect location with lots to do. The place was clean and tidy and lots of space. If we only had one issue I'd say there just wasn't enough toilet roll 😂. Between 6 people for 2 nights there was only 4 rolls between us. Other than that it's perfect. Thankyou

A beautiful cottage to stay in located on Khyber Pass so within the heart of Whitby. Great facilities within the property and spotless. Communication by Host & Stay was excellent, no problems at all. Our 2nd stay in Whitby now with Host & Stay, both properties great and no issues at either stay.

Amazing accommodation, photos don’t do this property justice. Huge lounge, blue sky through the dormer windows makes it lovely and airy, lovely bedrooms. Bit noisy from walkers up cliff street as bedrooms are on ground floor. Everything is newly fitted and installed. Having the forthcoming connection to the dedicated EV parking spot will really add further to this properties appeal. Would definitely be staying again.
