We had a lovely stay at Clackgill Cottage this weekend, the house is beautiful and absolutely spotless. With 6 adults and 2 children, it had everything we could have needed for the weekend. Kitchen was fully stocked with equipment and utensils; the airfryer and slow cooker were great touches. As a group we are already talking about our next trip and agreed we wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

We loved our stay in Clackgill cottage, without a doubt the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in with great attention to detail and very thoughtful touches. We have stayed in a lot of cottages and usually have to 'make do' with certain aspects but this place had everything. It was very tastefully furnished and everything good quality. We didn't get the 'that'll do' feeling that is present in so many rentals. There were, however, a couple of negatives: The comfy sitting room was far too small to accommodate our party of 8 so we had to sit on hard chairs around the kitchen table. The cottage is ideal for a winter break but we wouldn't stay there in the spring/summer as the outside space is small and unattractive and the view from the rear bedroom windows is a campsite with a rusty shipping container in the middle of it. Also as the campsite borders the 'garden' and is on the same level as the bedroom windows any tents/caravans would have a direct view into the bedrooms.

We stayed here as two families with a dog each. The size of the property was great and the location was good for a quiet visit. We did venture 20 minutes out to a pizzeria which we highly recommend. I will say I think it should be stated that dogs are allowed but cannot go upstairs, thankfully a stair gate was already at the property unless this would have been tricky to stop that. (I understand why they can't go upstairs etc but I think it should be stated as some dogs may not be use to being downstairs thankfully ours was) We will likely be back again to see the area in the summer as it rained most of the time we were there but it was perfect for that cosy cottage feeling. The kitchen was really well stocked with everything you'd need for cooking which was handy!

We were very happy with our stay at Clackgill cottage. It was really comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It is in a great location on the edge of the moors and has two local pubs within walking distance. We would definitely like to stay again.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Clackgill Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished and had everything we could need for our family to enjoy time together. The rooms are spacious and designed for spending time together and ideal for socialising, the large dining/kitchen area was ideal for our needs. The two bathrooms and seperate downstairs toilet meant no queues in the morning which was great!! The beds were very comfortable and we all slept extremely well. The views from the cottage are beautiful and we went on a number of walks in the local area as well as visiting other parts of the dales. Communication was prompt and clear. Thank you so much, we hope to visit again.

A lovely home, beautifully presented. We had a family get together 6adults, a baby and a dog. The hosts provided a cot, high chair and safety gate. Lovely welcome gifts of wine, biscuits etc. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Confident the cottage would meet our needs, but concerned when I requested infant accessories, as advised in the listing to be told they weren’t available! However, after a call to Host and Stay and further message exchange, this was resolved. The accommodation was perfect for our needs as a family of 8 incouding 2 young children. Everything you could want in probably the most well stocked kitchen I have experienced, a microwave and washer in adjoining utility space, cosy lounge. Upstairs, bedrooms were roomy with comfortable beds and great bathrooms. I’m glad I read a previous review which advised taking as many provisions as possible, nearest shops a 25 min drive away. Beautiful part of Yorkshire with local walks/attractions nearby. Would highly recommend for family stays. One nearby pub, otherwise nothing less than 30-40 mins drive away - which suited us, having decided to self cater for our entire stay.

The whole house was lovely,we booked for a family get together. the pictures on the site were exactly what you got, no disappointment there. Our only comment would be the sitting room was snug for 6 adults, but even this didn't spoil our stay, we sat in kitchen/dining room! All queries responded to quickly and satisfactorily. The views were amazing. We would highly recommend. Thank You.

Lovely accommodation with plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. Everything needed for infant (cot / high chair etc). Very comfy beds, living room a little snug but lovely still. Kitchen area and utilities were perfect. Great location looking over a campsite

Fantastic property with great contact from the hosts. Everything as per the pictures and the attention to detail with the facilities was fantastic. Was suprised/ disappointed to wake up to caravans parked directly outside the property with a view straight into the bedrooms. Not hosts fault but would have been great to have known this was a surrounding the property.

What a fab place to stay. Everything was perfect for us. Arrived in blue skies and then on day two the snow came. We were snowed in but everyone was so accommodating helpful and kind. We stayed in Clackgill Cottage as an extended family; me, husband and our kids, my brother and his family and my parents. It was so spacious despite being maximum occupancy. Sometimes you're really squeezing into a space if you take as many people as the listing says, but we had a bedroom per couple and a room for the kids. We had some lovely days out, and were hardly even in the cottage at all really which is actually a bit of a shame! There were some great walks right on the door step but we also ventured further afield with a day in Ripon checking out the museums and cathedral, and we went TO Druid's Temple which was gorgeous to walk around. It was just really nice to spend time together as a wider family all in one place and without the usual pressures of day to day life. The listing says no travel cot but we did actually find one under the bed (took our own anyway but good to know in a pinch!)

Clackgill Cottage is a relatively new house and is in excellent condition. Its neutral pallete is tasteful and it has a very well equipped kitchen which meant I could cater for 8 people each day without a problem. The linens and towels are of excellent quality and the open plan kitchen diner gave plenty of space for us all to sit round to eat and play games. The pub a few steps away serves great food. Just be aware that you are a long way from shops and petrol, the closest being Pately Bridge - a 25 minute drive away, so you need to plan ahead.

We had a great week at Clackgill cottage which was well equipped and well presented for our arrival the cottage is in a quiet very small village location with some lovely walks on the doorstep for our dogs the walk up the lane outside offers spectacular views over the surrounding countryside we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The (new-build) house was simply and beautifully decorated and it felt special straight away. A previous review mentioned it seeming smaller than the photos but we thought it was very spacious...I guess it depends on where you live normally. It had everything that we could have wanted / needed. Bathrooms were lovely and beds very comfortable. Host and Stay were very responsive. The views from the bedroom windows were amazing. It's a perfect place if you like walking: no need to drive anywhere. We ate sunday lunch in the village pub; the slow-roasted lamb was incredible. The Crown is very much a local's pub (we watched the Euro football final with a lively crowd in there), which we liked, but if you want a posher foodie place you'd need to drive. The listing said it had an EV charger but it doesn't. There are some listed locally in the Host and Stay information pack, but they are a drive away. Note also that the last bit of hill up into the village is VERY steep.

Very nice, well presented, clean and well appointed house. All mod cons. Comfy beds. Loads of kitchen equipment. Location is lovely, with a hospitable pub around the corner where we had two excellent dinners (note no food being served Sunday or Monday). Seems like a lot of houses in the village are AirBnBs. Things to improve: The handle on the inside of the downstairs loo was broken so you couldn’t exit once inside! We had to rescue one of our party. Hosts reacted quickly and offered to fix it while we were staying there, but we elected to let them do it after we left. The floor mat behind the front door stops the cloakroom door opening. Our request to use the garage, made and approved well prior to arrival, turned into a debacle which was sorted after two days, but unnecessarily painful. Things to note: The campsite in the field to the rear of the property directly overlooks the rear bedrooms from 10 yards away. No food shop in the village so buy at Pately Bridge (pie shop!!)

Lovely stay here. Pros: Great location, easy to find and very beautiful views, the host had taken the time to decorate the house nicely and we felt very much at home, nice toiletries, well stocked kitchen (e.g. Dishes for children and lots of pots, pans) and anything else you could need. Lovely little pub around the corner, and only 20 minute drive from shops. Good communication during the stay. Cons: Communication when booking was strange, booked as the description said there would be a cot and stair gate upon request, when I booked and requested this I was told it was incorrectly advertised, I brought my own travel cot and when I arrived there was one here! A couple off ad hoc cleanliness issues, air fryer hasn't been cleaned, a couple of the towels smelled a little musty, and I found a large piece of broken glass by my bed (which was alarming because I was staying with a toddler), but the rest of the place was nice and clean. I'd recommend the place, and would stay again.

Clackgill Cottage was everything it was advertised to be! It was beautiful and clean, well stocked with anything you may need. Definitely home away from home....added to that the fantastic location and eye-watering Yorkshire views I would highly recommend a visit. Also a fast response from the Airbnb team with any questions. All in all we all had a great Time!

Stayed for 3 wonderful nights during the big freeze but the house was toasty warm and cosy. A beautiful cottage with three spacious bedrooms and the fourth a good size for bunk beds. The four of us came here for a sewing retreat and the enormous kitchen was perfect for us. It was also the most well appointed kitchen I've ever stayed in! We had a blissful time and will be booking again very soon!

We enjoyed a lovely few days at Clackgill Cottage over New Year it was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen inparticular was pristine and extremely well equipped. Middlesmoor is very picturesque and ideal if you like a good ramble through the Yorkshire countryside.
