Well presented all as described. Perfect location for exploring Whitby and accessing coastal walk was right at front door. In winter this area is a lot quieter of course, parking foc was luckily available on road outside apartment. Be aware that there is no lift with stairs inside up to apartment - pack your bags accordingly! Bedrooms are good size, beds ok and 3 bathrooms are good. We were 4 adults- perfect. Probably a bit tight for 6 adults though, particularly in kitchen area. Kitchen and lounge area all as per photos, basic but appropriate. Problem with dishwasher reported to agent and will be sorted post our visit. Good communications with agent.

A great location to get into Whitby in 5 minutes. Steps to get down into town but not a problem for our group. Beautiful views from the property. Although three bathrooms only two are en suite. Not a problem for us but we didn’t realise until we got there. The property odd in excellent condition and looks recently refurbished. We would stay again.

Four of us really enjoyed our stay at the Waves. The apartment is well equipped, clean and spacious. Really appreciated the separate 3 bathrooms and 2 balconies with the sea view which was awesome! The location is quiet and within easy walking distance to the town centre (although it is uphill on the way home). The host is very quick to respond to any queries and is helpful.

We stayed at this Airbnb for our mum’s 50th birthday and it was perfect. The location is ideal, had great views of the ocean and there was plenty of room for 6 people and 2 dogs. The only comment to be made was that there was a lack of glasses in the apartment for 6 people and there was quite a few spiders and flies in the top corners of the living room. Other than that we absolutely loved it and would stay again.

The Waves was the perfect base for us and our 3yr old. We've visited Whitby many times but having 2 balconies with views of the sea topped all the rest. The sunsets were a dream! Decoration and amenities supplied were ideal and accomodation is very generous with 3 bathrooms. Would love to stay here again.

The apartment in great, ideal location opposite the beach, great coffee and ice cream shop outside the apartment. Whitby itself is a lovely traditional seaside town and only a 20 min walk away. The apartment was ideal, there were three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Perfect for six people. The balcony was an advantage, and was like having another room, the weather was hot so it was well used. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break at the Waves and would go again.

Fantastic location, sea view and size of the apartment for what we needed for 4 adults & 2 children. As mentioned in previous reviews, carpets and the balconies could do with a good clean. A review and replenishment of glassware required too - only 2 wine glasses and 5 tumblers for a 6 person apartment. We managed for 2 nights. Kitchen cloths, dishwasher tablets and bathroom toiletries all provided which is a plus. Lots of automated communication from the company which manages to property. But also answered individual queries very promptly.

We recently spent a Christmas break in Whitby and had a fantastic time! The location was perfect—close enough to everything you need, yet peaceful enough to feel like a real escape. The accommodation was incredibly cozy and had a homely feel, making it the ideal spot to relax and unwind during the holiday season. The cleanliness was nearly flawless, with just a few cobwebs in the corners and a slight odor in the bathroom, but nothing that took away from the overall comfort of the place. It really felt like a home away from home. There are some great restaurants nearby, with a variety of options for every taste, and the walking trails around Whitby were just beautiful, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the area. Overall, our stay was so enjoyable that we’d definitely come back—100% recommend it for anyone looking for a charming Christmas break in Whitby!

We booked The Waves as a first trip away for our 3 month old, also bringing our dog and grandparents in tow. The property is in an ideal location on the West Cliff with easy access to the west pier and beyond. We visited in October so we had no problem using disc parking on the Royal Crescent, but there are a number of reasonably priced car parks nearby. We made full use of the property's open plan kitchen/living room to make food, play cards and watch films, and it was a perfect first trip away for us all. We will definitely come back!

Great location, lovely sea view and spacious apartment. 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 ensuites and 1 main bathroom. Clean but as other reviews previously mentioned- some old stains on carpet. We have had a good time and felt overall, good value for money.

Although the location was excellent and host accepted dogs, we found carpets badly stained and not fresh smell. It would be more hygienic to have hard floors. Our first night we had the downstairs bell constantly ringing with people trying to check in and unable to do so due to poor check in instructions. The kitchen I’ll equipped for 6 adults. We had 3 wine glasses 3 tea spoons, 5 forks and one dessert fork and only one pan and one frying pan that would work on induction hob. The chairs and table on the balcony had not been clean probably since previous season and the floor was covered in bird poo. The bedrooms were fine but once again the carpets not so good. The showers had no safety grip and very very slippery and dangerous. The entrance to the building was unkept and the staircase rail on the way up was filthy. Also the week before getting there we were asked to lay a non refundable £25 for damages based on that we thought the place was pristine and it wasn’t.

This was a really nice place for 3 young couples to stay. The view was incredible, the beds were very comfy and bedrooms were really clean. The biggest let down was that the exterior of the building looked like it needed a lot of TLC, with bird poo covering all the windows it meant you couldn’t properly look out at the view without going on the balconies. Considering this apartment is owned by a company, we’d expect the windows to be cleaned too. Previous comments from other reviews such as the pans and dirty carpet have not been resolved. It could easily have been one of the best places we’ve stayed if those issues were amended.

Great communication. Feel there should be more of a write up on Airbnb so it is clear you are renting from another company not an individual like most of my Airbnb experiences, and that there is an additional deposit which is not mentioned. Great accomodation, easy to find. Ideal for exploring Whitby. Would not recommend for those with limited fitness/physical ability as lots of stairs up to the apartment. Three double rooms all with comfy beds, two with ensuite and one with a balcony. Handy family bathroom with shower over bath. Could tell it was the end of the season as the places was looking tired. Carpets throughout could have done with a shampoo. Unfortunately one of the ensuite bathrooms had a terrible smell upon arrival, this was resolved by ourselves tipping boiling water and cleaning fluid down the drains. This resolved the issue however not a great start and gives the impression the company do not maintain the property how an individual host would for Airbnb.

The 1 star is for the beautiful view. The general cleanliness of the property was appalling. The flat itself had a damp dog odour which wouldn’t leave even when sprayed, units had tea stains, carpet was massively stained, beds and sofa were untidy, windows smudged, rubbish left in toilet bins, carpets not hoovered and marks and chips on all walls accompanied with spiders. Host were extremely polite and responsive and offered to clean again, however, we had already come in and cleaned the property. I didn’t expect to have to do this when coming for a holiday.

Perfect location right next to the jaw bones and over looking the sea. We were lucky enough to sit on our balcony and watch a couple of dolphins within an hour of checking in! We were given parking permits to use during our stay but you could use the pay and display (on street parking) for just £6 a day anyway. 1 word of advice if you’re planning a trip to Whitby and want to eat out in restaurants on an evening - make table reservations well in advance and don’t expect to be able to just walk in off the street. We would highly recommend Pizza West that is a stone throw away from this apartment - really tasty! Our kids loved how close we were to all the fun - mini golf, trampolines, splash pool, motor boats and go karts are all on the same street. We loved it here and would love to come back.

Fabulous apartment in a great location. Great communication with the host and stay team. Everything was excellent. Just a couple of minor things. The hobs only work if you actually place the right side saucepan on them otherwise they just keep flashing and the check out time in the instructions states 1200 which is incorrect as it’s actually 1000. Can’t wait to return again soon!

This Airbnb is all about the incredible sea view, sunsets and proximity to everything worth doing in Whitby. Its balconies and location make it worth the money, especially if you get the weather we did. Downsides included contacting the host to find out what type of coffee maker was on site and never getting a substantive reply (it’s a French press, btw), trying to cook breakfast on the day we climbed up to the Abbey and having to sift through the many pots and pans in the kitchen until finding the singular pan that worked with the induction hob, and having screws and a wire exposed in the family bathroom where a shaver/mirror must have once been positioned. Oh, and bring your own supplies as the host is stingy with dishwasher tablets, kitchen & loo roll, tea towels, soap, etc. These were the bits that kept our stay from being absolutely perfect. Upside, the place was clean, well appointed (aside from the pans) and comfortable.

6 Adults, 1 Toddler and the dog stayed at this apartment. Ideal location for us, the beach on the door step and only a ten minute walk into town. Easy to find and plenty of parking opposite the apartment( £9 for 24hrs) although they do provide one parking permit for your stay. The apartment was fine for us, there were a few issues which have been pointed out in previous reviews and still haven't been rectified but they didn't spoil our stay. Communication from Host & Stay was very good, always a prompt response. Lovely food at the Pizza West and we enjoyed our first visit to Whitby.

what a stunning place with breathtaking sea views and wonderful patio balconys outside one bedroom and the main living area too. Location could not have been better we were lucky with sunshine every day and my daughter swam in the sea! i jad amazing beachfront jogging too - we explored and walked, gorgeous old town and seeing the Abbey. We got boat rides every day (only £5 pp for a 20 min ride and even saw dolphins!) we ate out once a day then really enjoyed chill time of an evening snuggling with netflix films and ordering a local Dominos pizza!! Highly recommend the Magpie for fish and chips eaten overlooking the harbour. Lovely high spec kitchen - the issues I had were minor and got swift response from Ryan at Host and Stay - I suggested providing more than one dishwasher tablet (I stayed for 4 nights) would be wise. Overall a superb stay thank you x

The entrance and all communal areas were very dirty and unkept and the whole apartment itself was not clean, walls had scud marks and dirty stains on them and plaster split and cracking on each doorway in the apartment. The grey carpet was very dirty and needed at best a good clean or replacement and the walls everywhere were in need of painting. We had 1 saucepan and 1 frying pan to use to cook for 4 people as the new ones we found were not compatible for the induction hob ! The kitchen tongs only had 1 end to grip food so not usable. Baring in mind this is the start of the summer season and the high price we paid for our stay it was not acceptable and not worth the money we have been charged. Also having to pay a separate charge for an insurance cover to host and stay after payment to Airbnb is not acceptable. We would like this feedback taken onboard and a refund of the holiday total back as we paid over £1100 and the apartment was not up to the standard expected.

The apartment is in a good location overlooking the sea. In summary I didn't feel that it was great value for money, £590 for two days, but it was convenient and comfortable and quite modern. There was a bit of maintenence required, large gaps in the door frames and a mirror in the bathroom had been removed iexposing the wiring (made safe). The main issue I had was after booking the company contacted me for a £250 deposit that I wasn't expecting, and then for this there was an admin charge of either £10 or a deposit waiver that they tried to push on to me for £25. If you don't pay either of these they will cancel their booking with you. You need to be aware of this. I ended up paying the deposit which was returned to me withing a few days of leaving the apartment. The £10 admin for this leaves a bad taste tho.

Warning to Airbnb: ‘Host & Stay’ require a £250 deposit to paid beforehand and don’t refund it until up to almost 3 weeks after your stay. Never seen this before on Airbnb. The places itself looked dirty with loads of scuff marks on the white walls. The balcony had not been cleaned. The photos make it look better than it is. We won’t be coming back.

We had good weather, so particularly enjoyed the balconies (and had fantastic view of dolphins one day!). Had thought that parking might be a hassle, but wasn't - plenty spaces really close if you were happy to pay or a short walk to free areas.

I’ve stayed in different hotels in Whitby before but this is far superior! The flat is lovely and light and modern. The open plan kitchen was great with lots of space in the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again!

Apartment was lovely and I cannot fault the cleanliness of the bathrooms etc however I was disappointed with the poor condition of the carpet within the living room and hallway. The carpet was heavily stained and it made me feel uneasy about my 5 year old running around with bare feet. Not what I would have expected for the price of the apartment. I did report this as part of my first impression and I was contacted swiftly by host & stay who assured me this would be rectified on the next clean. Overall the rest of the apartment was spotless and the kitchen was adequately stocked with the essentials. A nice touch of having a pint of milk in the fridge on our arrival. The beds were clean and comfortable and having Netflix on both TV’s was great. The carpet issue aside we had a lovely stay.

The size and style of the apartment and the stunning views of the sea plus having access to balconies made this a great place to stay, at this time of year. We particularly appreciated having 3 bathrooms, as we have teenagers who need their own space. Well laid out and has everything you need. Best place we have stayed in Whitby. Yes it cost a bit more but you get what you pay for!

Really great location, parking is really close by with a 2 day scratch card and Host and Stay were extremely helpful advising of all other nearby car parks as we had 2 cars. Lovely views and bedrooms are all great. We had a party of 4 adults and 1 toddler and found there to be plenty of space. Fully equipped kitchen was really helpful and we would definitely like to stay again! Really enjoyed our stay thank you

Beautiful apartment. It is on the expensive side but worth it - you get what you pay for. It has a very luxurious feel with lovely furnishings and well equipped kitchen. There is even a telescope to make the most of the spectacular view from the balcony. It was spotlessly clean on arrival with an easy check in. Would definitely return for another visit. Highly recommended 😊

We had a wonderful stay at The Waves. Communication before our stay was first class. The location is excellent- far enough away from the really busy town to enjoy peace and quiet (especially on a bank holiday weekend) but super easy to get there too when you want to. Beautiful views from the balcony! The apartment is clean, modern, comfortable and exceptionally well equipped with everything you need. We were a family of 5 with 3 teenagers and it was plenty spacious enough for us. The little extras, like milk in the fridge, coffee pods and dishwasher tabs make all the difference too. The only slight inconvenience is that there is no parking, but we managed to find free parking less than 10 minutes away, even on a busy bank holiday weekend, and we were able to pull up out front to load/unload. Overall we couldn’t fault our stay and would highly recommended.

Impeccable flat with amazing views. Super comfortable beds, functional layout of the rooms and all seems to be brand new. The communication with the hosts were super great, and we had an wonderful time with a couple of friends and our 2 kids. The parking is in the street, but there is plenty of paid parking spots nearby - and it's 5 mins walk to the pier or to the west cliff beach lift. The flat is in the 2nd floor and there is no lift - good exercise climbing the stairs :) We'll definitely will come back again :)
