The space
Sprouting out of a brand new development area, The Gathering contains a series of tasteful and artistic rooms across two floors, each of them stylishly designed and dressed. The living room is fully furnished with a wide sofa and matching armchair and footstool, all perfectly positioned to enjoy the views through the ceiling height windows.Across from the living room is The Gathering’s spacious kitchen, fully equipped with oven and grill, kettle, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, cutlery and dinnerware.
This area has a real social feel to it with a large kitchen island and high seating for four. This is the ideal setup for show cooking if you wanted to treat yourself to a private chef experience.
There are two dining areas alongside the kitchen, seating up to 10 people in total.
The master bedroom features a super king-sized bed, a free-standing bath and walk in wardrobe.
Large double doors allow you to step out onto the decked balcony where you can enjoy beautiful scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
The second room features twin beds, which can be setup as a king upon request. All beds are dressed in luscious bed linens and the plushest pillows and both bedrooms have an adjoining bathroom with a shower, WC and basin.
The property has a large outdoor area with private patio and hot tub.
The Gathering has an adjoining property, The Parlour. If you are looking to travel with a large group, you can reserve both properties and enjoy a stay for up to 10 guests.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guests have access to the full property and this is accessed via a secure key safe.There is free on-site parking directly outside The Gathering.
The Gathering has an adjoining property, The Parlour. If you are travelling with a large group The Gathering and The Parlour are the perfect choice.

This was a beautifully displayed property as pictured however when arriving inside the place was infested with flies. Crawling over plates and cutlery, beds, walls and floors. Being in the property less than a minutes and they were all over us and we had to leave immediately. The host was aware and unhelpful saying he turned on the fly zapper before we got there but it was clear there was a bigger issue with the amount in the property. We also arrived to find the blinds closed and when opened was clear it was because there was a scaffolding erected along main view windows which is why we chose a property in country for pleasant views. Again not mentioned at any point of booking. We had to then located a property at 5pm in the evening after travelling all day with a 2 year old, 5 year old and elderly mum. We had 3 days worth of food wasted as we had no fridge and had to a cell activities booked as were not in the area staying anymore. Having to cancel our break away.

The place was spacious and stylish and it was located in a peaceful location. The views of the stunning countryside were spectacular and was so nice to wake up to from the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. We had a power cut on day 2 and the WiFi went off. We contacted host and stay and within the hour it was sorted by the owner. The hot tub was so relaxing and made our stay so relaxing. Will definitely be back

Well appointed, comfy beds, view from the hot tub is amazing.
Owner was really nice and friendly and the team had prewarmed the tub for us.
Lovely kitchen area and the upstairs room was really something special, with it's own ensuite and claw foot bath, with perfect views over the fields outside.
Only negative I can give is that there was a leak on the large windows near the roof. When the rain started in earnest, we were dealing with a large leak from the window dripping inside.
The owner come and checked in to tell us it was going to be fixed and apologised for the inconvenience.
Not that it was really much of an inconvenience to us, but I can see damage starting and it would be a shame to see such a beautiful place lessened by this issue.
An extra teaspoon or 2 wouldn't go amiss.
I would still 100% return, because everything else was amazing.

Beautifully decorated ( high end ) and very spacious. Comfortable beds and sofas and excellent showers. Everything was clean, kitchen was well equipped. Hot tub was fantastic!
Wi-fi on the TV was patchy so kids complained about buffering. But that's just a small thing and it wouldn't stop me from staying here again.

Location was perfect. So peaceful in the middle of stunning countryside. My grandson enjoyed playing with Oscar the owners dog. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The fresh eggs were a lovely touch too. There's plenty to do and see locally and further afield. Keilder forest and lake and Seahouses to see the seals are our top trips. If all you want to do is relax and not leave this accommodation I dont think you'd ever get bored of that view from this place. My grandsons wants come back and so do I!!!

Lovely accommodation, very spacious and lots of options for seating areas. Main bedroom suite is incredible. Nice to spend evenings in the hot tub with the beautiful views.
A few things needing changed (mostly what people had written in previous reviews). I have discussed this with Host & Stay separately and they seemed open to the suggestions so hopefully the issues don't arise for future guests.
Overall a very lovely accommodation, just needing a few finishing touches to make the trip 5 stars.

The house was very spacious for the four of us. Unfortunately, it wasn't as clean as you would expect. There was mould around the shower edges and tooth paste splatters along the wooden edging in the bathroom. The floor was dirty and there were visible gatherings of dust. The table was laid beautifully but dust was on the plates and glasses. The hot tub wasn't clean enough to use as it had scum round the edges and sand on the seats and at the bottom. The owner did come and change the water when we contacted him, however, the treatment of the hot tub was down to us. This added a lot of stress to our holiday as we couldn't get the test strips to show it was safe to use. The main bed had a dip in which made it uncomfortable to sleep in. There was a leak in the large windows panes when it rained leaving pools of water to mop up.
We found this review hard to write as we haven't ever left negative feedback on any of our holidays but for the price we paid, we expected better quality.

Good location, initial thoughts great place BUT - mould in showers, bed linen and covers stained, main bed broken and clear had been for some time.
Broken bed held up by a block of wood.
Kitchen gadgets poor quality and lack any thought and day to day needs.
Very disappointing
Due to filthy conditions didn’t use hot tub.

Lovely accommodation very clean and well equipped
The stay and properties were lovely however Host and Stay who manage the property require a very large refundable damage deposit, although this is explained clearly and is understandable, almost 3 weeks on they’re still sitting on nearly £500 which is having to be chased up via back and forth emails, not really acceptable when it could have been a temporary hold.

We loved our stay at The Gathering. Since arriving on day 1, the instructions for the property were straight forward and concise. Once checked in, we were greeted by the owner, John, who was very polite and made us feel at home. Any issue or query he helped us with as well as recommendations of the local area. The property was better than we imagined, with beautiful high ceilings in the lounge and a nice balcony to have a peaceful on. Our stay was for 2 nights and we found that we were able to optimise the property and facilities in this time. With it being so close to Belsay, Matfen and Ponteland, there was plenty to do and explore during the day time. The check out process was easy and instructions were given the night before just to confirm details and answer any queries we did have. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with all the facilities someone would need.

There is nothing to not like in the gathering. Exceptional home, unbelievable views from any angle. We saw john on the second morning after a stroll, and what a lovely man he is to find out more about the surrounding areas of the what was a working farm

The interior was gorgeous, looks just like the photos very spacious but still cosy! If you’re going in winter deffo pack some warm clothes and cozy pjs! But had a wonderful stay, would deffo recommend to anyone

Beautiful house with light coming in through all the huge windows with amazing views.

Very comfortable place to stay. Great beds, powerful showers, good oven and combi microwave, nicely furnished, lots of pictures, ornaments etc that made it very homely. Very clean. Nice cosy sitting room with a lovely Christmas tree. Owners very helpful.
Small things only - would stop us re booking - Wi-Fi a bit patchy- hard to get iPlayer in the sitting room. Showers need the sealant replacing, outside area around The Parlour is not very attractive. Kitchen drawers need a good tidy up.

We had a lovely stay in the gathering. Our first family holiday with our 6 month old and there was lots of space for everything. We would highly recommend staying at the gathering for many reason. The hosts were great, the sheer space in the place is incredible yet it still feels homely. It was nice and quiet. Having a coffee on the balcony felt very peaceful. We loved our stay and we will hopefully be returning in the future.

The house itself is beautiful with stunning views. Good base to get about. Very well equipped. Couldn't get the hot tub up to temperature but messaged the host and he popped round and sorted it no problem.
Some areas were very dusty on arrival and I had to clean work surface area and breakfast table. Lots of cobwebs. Hot tub had some dirt particles in the base. Because of the wooden floors and staircase, it was very noisy and creaky for anyone downstairs. Not enough low level lighting in the main sitting area.

We had the most beautiful weekend. When we arrived the host was making sure everything was ok and even offered us fresh eggs from their own hens on the grounds.
The house was beautiful and the views were stunning. We were able to relax in the hot tub in the evenings and it felt very private. We were also able to make all of our meals in the kitchen which had everything we needed. We could relax with a movie in the living room area in the evenings.
I would highly recommend staying in this house. The hosts were very friendly but also not intrusive at all but made sure we had everything we needed. They also had plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area which was very helpful. We would definitely return

It’s the best accommodation we’ve visited and we’ve been to quite a few. Firstly John the host made us feel welcome and assured us of any problems to contact him and then was left to enjoy our stay. The location is so peaceful with breathtaking views and feels so private as you’re not overlooked and is around 40 mins to get to Newcastle. The property is huge and beautifully furnished with everything you need in it and most importantly the bed was so comfortable. Just looking to re-book and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a romantic or peaceful break🙂

I really can't recommend The Gathering enough if you're looking at a base for exploring Northumberland. Nestled in a beautifully peaceful setting, and with every provision you could ask for, you won't be disappointed! There's plenty to explore in the surrounding area to keep you occupied during the day, as well as soaking the evening away come rain or shine in the covered hot tub. The hosts are extremely friendly, with a lot of local knowledge and ideas of places to visit. Would highly recommend this destination, and wouldn't think twice about returning for another stay

Location is wonderful with fantastic views around the property. Plenty of space in the grounds.
For 9 of us we booked both The Parlour and The Gathering. There is a door that connects the two for a large party. It worked perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms . We all enjoyed our holiday there and would recommend it to others.
Only negatives were: The flys, (being in the countryside)
The water in the Jacuzzi outside the Gathering was not warm enough to use . However this was being addressed by the owners.

When we arrived in the Sunday the first thing we did was turn on the hot tub but noticed that the water was
very murky and had a bit of a sulphur smell coming from the filter, we decided to use it anyway but on the
Tuesday we saw the owners and told them that it could do with either cleaning out or some chlorine added
as the box supplied in the box was empty.
We said that we would be out all day Wednesday so it would be good if it could be ready to use for
Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday evening my wife bumped into the owners and they said that they
would have to empty the hot tub Friday morning ready for the new customers staying after us and said
that 'someone will have to miss out unfortunately'
So for the entire time we were there nothing was done with it and was only checked because we told them
that it wasn't clean. This put a real damper on the holiday for the rest of the week as we specifically paid
over £200 a day.

Ein tolles, liebevoll eingerichtet Haus. Sehr bequeme Betten und eine tolle Aussicht. Die Besitzer, John und Lin, waren sehr nett und haben uns sogar Eier von ihren eigenen Hühnern geschenkt. Der Hot Tub war vorbereitet und man musste einfach nur noch einsteigen. Hierfür gab es extra Handtücher.
Es fehlte leider eine Kaffemaschine.

We arrived at The Gathering and on first glance the place was stunning and we were very excited.
When I went to explore upstairs the large blind across the double doors was down which I thought was strange as the other smaller blind was up. I went to open the blind and the beads to pull it up fell into my hand they were not attached. I reported this immediately to Host and Stay. The owner arrived to look the following morning and said he wouldn’t be able to fix it. This was very disappointing as the blind being down meant we couldn’t enjoy the view from the first floor balcony.
The cleanliness of the lodge was exceptionally disappointing, there are stains all over the inside of the windows and evident dirt and dust on the glass light shades above the kitchen island.
The hot tub which was the main reason we booked the place did not smell right and when we checked the filter it was all orange and a build up of dirt. This meant after the first day it had a strong smell of sewages

The Gathering was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. We loved hearing the birds and having no disturbances.
Don't stay there is you want to be close to amenities as it is a fair step to the nearest shop. That said, we knew this and loved it. We found it a great place to stay and visit lots of places whilst 'up North'!
We loved the hot tub and generally the space.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Gathering and felt at home. Thank you for making our stay lovely.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay - wonderful barn conversion - stunning countryside - thrilled to see it had been used during an episode of 'Vera' - met John who was great and answered my many questions about the filming!!!!!
However although the house was stunning and very clean - there were areas that were not as clean as you would expect - loads of cobwebs , dirty windows, outside table dirty - and a real shortage of basics. ( only one dishwasher tablet , no store cupboard items that most Airbnb seem to provide ( spray oil etc) - it was also difficult as the Host company only seemed to respond overnight which made some communication difficult!
We stayed during a very hot weekend( unexpected!) and because there was a problem with the doors we only had a kitchen window to open - I think a fan downstairs might come in handy this summer.
However these are all small points - loved the house and our stay.

Nice and spacious kitchen, living room and dining space perfect for family gatherings and relaxing. Close to Hadrian’s wall and other Roman ruins for a day trip. There are some decent restaurants and shops in Ponteland which is about 15 minutes away.

The place was excellent, overall great stay! Very remote but we kind of expected that.. lovely little touches such as games etc. Hot tub was great. Beds were comfy and clean. It was a fab stay! Would definitely recommend:)

We stayed at the gatherings part of the build. It was lovely and the location was peaceful and quiet. The communication from the owners about check in and check out was very clear and the whole experience was straight forward. It’s situated in a beautiful part of the world and we enjoy our few days away.

We originally had the gathering booked Friday to Monday but were notified of the availability of the Wednesday and Thursday so we took the opportunity to check in a night early! Made all the difference extending the weekend, a beautiful property, clean with comfy beds! Everything needed was provided, even fresh eggs from the chickens! Close to the city but far enough away to feel remote! Definitely recommended!

The Gathering is a fantastic place to stay. The building has clearly been converted to a high standard, it is well designed, beautifully finished and presented with lovely views over the countryside. I would be very happy staying here again! I felt it was good value for money and it was in peaceful surroundings which is exactly what I'd hoped for.

this place is amazing! the host comes with our highest recommendation. it's only once you're actually there that you get a true sense of the scale of this place, the standard of finish, calculation and level of attention to detail given to the decor and setting. everything here, at first seemingly simple, presents itself in lingering retrospect as an understated statement piece.
the price - so competitive.
I think this amongst the most accessible, value-added and satisfying properties you could stay in that are available to this standard and in this area on air b'n'b

We loved the hot tub, the open plan kitchen/living room/dinner. The main bedroom was gorgeous
The bi-fold external doors had an issue closing. We'd suggest possibly including bath robes for guests using the outdoor jacuzzi.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The house is in a very quiet location but only 20 minutes from Ponteland, It had been beautifully decorated for Christmas, which was an unexpected bonus.

Such an amazing stay! The host was very responsive and accommodating. The place was clean and had high-rise windows to allow lots of natural light in during the daytime. The hot tub was in immaculate condition with stunning views of the countryside!

My friends and I hired both properties for a girly weekend away. The properties are absolutely stunning, there is an adjoining door that connects both properties making it feel like one huge property.
They are perfect for a larger get together and plenty of space.
The location is remote and very peaceful. Ponteland is only a 20 minute drive away which was perfect for us to visit for Christmas lunch and drinks. Taxis are easier to get from here too.
The owners live on the farm in a nearby property we found this very reassuring and John came over to help us with an enquiry we had and he checked on the hot tubs too.
Hot tubs are a perfect addition.
The properties are large and spacious and very clean. The owners really have thought of everything.
We will definitely be returning.
There isn’t anything I disliked about the property. Maybe instructions on how to use the hot tub would be useful.

Beautiful holiday let. very comfortable and stunning views. only 2 niggles.... the downstairs bathroom had a strong unpleasant smell and the upstairs shower was tepid and we couldn't control the temperature. however, this didn't ruin the weekend for us and we enjoyed our stay

Just back home from a 3 nights stay at John & Lynda’s place. The house is massive and feels even more spacious that what it looked like in the pictures.
The location is very private and the hosts were very helpful.
Minor issue on the first day with the plug in the bathroom sink that was broken but this was fixed by John the following morning.
We would book again.
Worth it for the space, views and of course the hot tub.

Beautiful place, amazing decor & very tranquil. Host made sure we were ok on our first night and dropped off fresh eggs which were very welcome. A bottle of prosecco was waiting for us also which was a lovely gesture, table was all beautifully set for our first meal.
Plenty of tea/coffee/some milk sachets, detergents and additional shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathrooms.
Hot tub was great.Would highly recommend this place, it does feel very special. I'll drfinitely stay here again

We had the most wonderful stay at The Gathering. The house is absolutely stunning (exactly like the pictures!), the hot tub was very clean and always warm. Absolutely could not fault it whatsoever! Lynne and John were also both lovely, very friendly people who despite living next door respected our privacy and left us to it. Thank you so much for a brilliant stay, we will 100% be back (maybe next time we’ll book The Parlour, too!)

We spent an amazing 5 days at "The Gathering", our hosts Lynn and John (Oscar the dog) are an amazing couple with a beautiful home. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We will seriously consider returning with our parents next year utilising the joint building (The Parlour). Thank you again for a perfect stay

The house itself is absolutely beautiful, stunning views and really well decorated. It’s a huge space for 4 people. Beds were super comfy and we had a great night sleep. Hot tub was brilliant. Would defo recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend away.
Well stocked generally although cleaning spray and some more dishwasher tablets would have been really helpful. Also, we found some of the cooking equipment was a bit limited - only a small frying pan etc. Very minor though issue though.

Clean, huge, very comfortable furniture, 3 en suites. Warm. Host welcomed us. Quiet. Far reaching view from bedrooms.
Understand there is probably a need for a damage deposit, however, having to pay £10 admin fee for that damage deposit, for less than 48 hours in property was not good. Far too many emails asking me to pay this damage deposit. Another saucepan (a big one) would have been useful - 2 medium pans in accommodation for 6 isn't really enough. However, I didn't ask for another pan and one may well have been provided if I had asked.

Unfortunately not as clean as I would expect, window sill in bedroom very dirty & cobwebs, surface of the chest of drawers was covered in make up which was easily removed. Wall of bathroom had toothpaste splattered down it. Floors could have been cleaner.
There was no coffee machine, although there was supposed to be one.
A large saucepan would have been useful when cooking for 6 people, & a potato peeler.

I stayed at this air bnb with my boyfriend and firstly would like to say that it is STUNNING, we travelled over 6 hours there and were not disappointed. The home is clean, the space is vast, the decor is top tier and the VIEW from the bedroom is unlike anything I have ever seen before. It is tranquil, calm, and the people who stay there are lovely too! All in all it is an absolute pleasure there and was a great experience.
My only slight disappointment was the internet, it didn't work from the moment we arrived which made sorting out plans quite difficult. We did call both numbers that were given, left a text message and contacted host and stay, who did respond back with a generic response but never actually got back to us with a resolution. This did leave us without any form of internet for the whole duration of our stay which for the money paid I don't think is unacceptable.

A lovely place, with a hottub. Great things, much space, great beds, lots of towels, lookout over the fields, fresh eggs delivered on our doorstep, friendly owner. When you pay this amount you expect evertything to be perfect. Based on that expectation, we have the following things that could receive more attention: wifi didn’t work, the house was not clean everywhere toothbrush holders had toothpaste, refrigerator had staints, in drawers there were hairs of former visitors.

Had a lovely stay here! Beautiful accommodation and very helpful and friendly hosts! Even brought us fresh eggs one morning.
The only issue we had was there were a lot of flies around and we had to spend a lot of time trying to get rid of them. The owners knew about this as had a fly catching device on but we were not told about it and did not have much to get rid of them with apart from a half empty bottle of fly spray.
Apart from that the stay was brilliant!

-Beautiful location and the building has been refurbished to a very good standard. Incredible views out to the remoteness of the fields.
/Some thoughtful touches on arrival (eg Prosecco) and eggs for which many thanks
Negatives
-The management company managing the building were generally pretty unhelpful.
We had requested upon booking for a king bed as outlined in the Airbnb listing but sadly got two singles which was only sorted out on the penultimate night. For the price we paid, this should have been sorted much sooner
- Significant lack of cleaning products. We had one dishwasher tablet for four nights and no surface sprays which made it difficult to keep it clean. The floors were also quite dirty upon arrival and rubbish had been left in the kitchen from previous guests.

The Gathering was a beautiful place to get away to. It's well decorated, spacious and immaculately tidy. The host was very welcoming and although they lived next door they were not intrusive.
Just note that it is quite remote so you will need to drive some distance for local amenities but dont let this detract from this gem in the countryside.

Lovely stay at The Gathering with our children 12, 11 and 1 in February 2023. Really nicely appointed accommodation with everything you could need! John and Lynne the owners were very happy to help, and brought us a highchair over for our little one. If travelling with a baby you will need to bring your own travel cot. Would definitely recommend!!

We had the BEST time at the gathering! The house itself was stunning, spotless and just a wonderful place to spend a long weekend. The hot tub alone was a wonderful amenity but on top of that the view whilst using it was spectacular! Lynne was so lovely and friendly! We just loved it, we hope to come back soon! 😁

Beautiful accommodation with heaps of activities on the doorstep (Michelin star Pine restaurant, Matfen Hall Spa and Golf, Go Ape, paintball, etc) and Newcastle-upon-Tyne is only 30 mins drive, if you can bring yourself to leave these beautiful surroundings.

beautifully furnished.. spacious n luxurious. clean and the Xmas tree was an additional bonus. like that it’s tucked away in peace and quiet but only 15 drive if want to get some action. landlord stayed behind us and they were very responsive when we encounter any problem. They made the effort of walking over to pass us some cooking items we forgot to bring and gave us fresh eggs from their chicken on check in date and the following day too when we asked. Due to some filming on the property, owner has reached out to house us in the other property for the first night which is very beautiful too and has offered 200£ as compensation for the inconvenience. Everything worked well, now waiting for the compensation to be transferred.

just about everything, both properties are stunning and it was absolutely perfect for some quality family time away. our hosts were great, very attentive and helped with anything we needed.
the ONLY downside was that due to the location being on a farm there are a lot of pesky flies hovering around but there’s not a great deal can be done to prevent that.

The couple who stay next to the property were lovely, place and location was fantastic with a half an hour drive to Newcastle, Place was nice until the last day, electric kept tripping and we rang the number on the messages and the service received was very bad, women on the phone was very patronising and not helpful and advise it would take hours for maintenance to come out resulting in us having no electricity

only 2 things would be on the parlour a hot tub cover maybe with a retractable roof so in the rain etc you can enjoy it a bit more and it deffo needs a light into the property and a sign as it’s a bit tricky to find in the dark and we ended up in a rather unpleasant farmers field!!

Check in and property information all very efficient. Amazing property, well equipped and the welcome gift of fizz was a lovely surprise. John & Lynne are great hosts and if you like eggs, do ask for some as they have chickens on-site and they’re fab. The hot tub is great too. Tip - if you want the 2 single beds put together to make one larger bed, try and give a few days notice so the message can be passed through. Highly recommended!

Communications were good, I think a management company handles most of the correspondence. It was very easy to collect the key and 'check in'. The house is really big, light and spacious, with views of the stunning surrounding countryside. There is an excellent kitchen and we were given an arrival bottle of procecco. There are two bedrooms and a sofa bed, in the main living room. We took the main bedroom, with enuite and large balcony overlooking the countryside. The bed was very comfortable with quality bedding. They provided a wonderful hottub which we enjoyed throughout our stay and used it every day.
The house is joined to another property that can also be rented out, which is connected by a dividing door, so we did hear some of the other people at times. The garden area is also shared by the other house, however we rarely saw them as the house is designed that the outdoor area faces away and on the other side of the join.
The views of the countryside beyond are lovely. Lynn and John (owners) seemed lovely, and came to say hello and also brought some home laid eggs to eat.
Check out was a bit too early for my liking (10am) and it would have been nicer to be 11am or 12.
Overall though, it was a wonderful stay and I would reccomend checking this place out!

We had a day out to Bamburgh (hours drive) and Morpeth on the way home. Sat outside the pub on the way home that is 5 mins from the property (black bull or something similar) and that was really nice.
Enjoyed a bit of luxury for a couple of days!

Other than an issue with the agency, which they sorted out to our satisfaction, this was perfect.
Unlike other places we've stayed, it looked exactly like it did in the pictures. There was everything you needed and there was loads of space. The hot tub was a nice touch and the view was amazing.

We all really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful house, tastefully decorated, loved the hot tub, peaceful surroundings.The hosts were friendly and welcoming.... highly recommend a stay !

We have never had such a relaxing break. Everything about The Gathering was perfect, the photographs cannot do justice to the quality of the conversion and the facilities.
We shopped in Waitrose in Ponteland then parked the car at the house and totally chilled out, we went nowhere! The peace and tranquility, dark skies at night, absolute privacy and a lovely deep hot tub made for the most chilled out five days. We cooked everything from eggs Benedict to Tomahawk steaks in the amazing kitchen.
The master bedroom suite is simply stunning as is the decor throughout the house. We simply could not have been happier.
The hosts are delightful people who have thought of everything. We will definitely return to The Gathering, a little corner of paradise.

The only reason not to write a review would have been to keep this beautiful place as a secret place 😊 The house, the surroundings and the hosts Lynne and John, everything was fantastic. I have been to 5 star hotels on several continents but this house was certainly in the top 5. Every aspect from size to amenities to cleanliness was outstanding. I would like to thank Lynne and John again for their exceptional hospitality. I am already making plans to stay longer. It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And to all e-car drivers: there is a working and reliable Type2 charger on site. Once again, thank you very much. Perfect location for a luxurious Northumberland stay!
The views from the enormous hot tub, balcony and even the bath were truly spectacular and helped us to immediately relax in this peaceful setting.
The Gathering was perfectly kitted out with everything you could need for a brilliant getaway in a brand new building.
Communication, directions and support from the host was amazing throughout. It was a lovely touch to leave a letter, some milk, coffee pods and a bottle of Prosecco!
Thank you so much for letting us stay, we look forward to coming back again!

Lynne & John were great hosts and always made sure they were available to answer any questions. A handy welcome note was given telling us all about the surrounding area and good places to visit, eat and explore.
The balcony, spacious living, huge bed and especially the hot tub were a big treat and very enjoyable!
We look forward to visiting again someday,

This house is incredible, so much so we didn’t want to leave. Definitely would look to book again.
We came for my birthday and had a nice relaxing trip , dinner and a dip in the tub followed by an evening in ponteland 15 minutes drive.
Would highly recommend!

We had a the most amazing stay & i wish we could have stayed longer. The owners catered to every need and thought of everything and were always on hand if any help was needed very friendly and very helpful it was a pleasure meeting lynne and John. Absolutely stunning lodge, views, and area. Thank you so so much we had the best time and thank you for the champagne. Will be recommending absolutely
