Clean, spacious accommodation in an amazing location - just great if you want to spend time on the beach. Marske is a pretty town with all you need within walking distance and there are lots of other places to visit within a short drive. Dog friendly and would definitely stay again.

Two very different sides. Beautiful rooms, views, very clean, bed linen and towels lovely. BUT, badly equipped kitchen. 2 saucepans, one was rusty inside and a health hazard. No oven glove, had to use a bath towel. Asked Hist for an oven glove, but nothing arrived, consequently burnt finger. Only 3 dinner plates, too large to stack in dishwasher. Only 3 wine glasses. No baking tray, just one small tin meat dish. Fed this back to Host & Stay who were very apologetic. Despite these issues, it is a lovely dwelling and hosts say they will address the issues ready for next guests. So all is well.

We were impressed with how clean and presentable it was. There was a lovely view of the sea from a couple of the windows. The apartment was well presented and the furniture was comfortable and suited the decor and style.

we did not receive instructions on how to access the property and had to call on arrival to find out how to get in. On our 3rd night the Carbon Monoxide detector went into alarm so we called the emergency gas services to come to the property as we didn't know what else to do. They came out and advised that the carbon Monoxide detector was manufactured in 2015 and so should of been replaced after 7 years (2022). They shut off the gas supply at approx 01:00. The gas was reinstated following a plumber attending the premises at approx 16:40 the following day so around 18 hours without hot water or heating. fortunately the carbon monoxide detector had been replaced also. All in its a lovely property and a lovely location. We were somewhat frustrated with details above and barring a short conversation from the owner no further follow up or communication was made from either Host and Stay or the owner.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location very close to the beach was a real bonus. Enjoyed a good meal at Gilbeys and caught the train for the short trip to Saltburn, which is a lovely small resort with a superb beach. Happy to recommend a stay here, especially if wish to have a peaceful and relaxing break.

What a lovely place to stay, the accommodation was fabulous, with plenty of room and packed full of amenities. The decor was lovely and I couldn’t believe there were 3 televisions! The location is great if you like the beach and walking and the local shops etc are well within walking distance. The hosting staff were really helpful as we left a valuable item behind and they held it safe and available for when we’re able to return to collect it. Great work team! One small point the hot water through the taps and showers isn’t hot and is like warm at best. The central heating, however, is toasty warm. I would wholeheartedly recommend this for a relaxing break.

The place was absolutely lovely however we were extremely let down by Host & Stay as they proceeded to ignore our messages all weekend when we told them that we had no hot water at the property to shower or bath. They waited to respond until we had checked out which was very frustrating. Very disappointed with the lack of service and will not be booking through them again. We would not recommend booking with host & stay and would go direct to the property instead. Felt they didn’t care whatsoever and their lack of effort/communication showed this.

If you have a dog or two this location is perfect for nipping straight down onto the beach and dunes. We walked to Saltburn for lunch and exhausted our four-legged friends. Great spot.

Felt like a home from home. Spacious and light, but also cosy. Clean and comfortable retreat. Plenty of space for us to socialise but also have time to ourselves if needed. All amenities as described. Lovely decor. Shower was lovely, and plenty of cooking utensils and appliances in the kitchen. Loved the courtyard at the back and also sitting in the outdoor area at the front of property watching the sea. Perfect location to the beach and to the shops, cafes, restaurants with our elderly dog. 5 minute drive to Redcar or Saltburn, 20 mins to Runswick Bay, and 40 mins to Whitby. Brilliant. Only downside was tv in dining area didn’t work, and the tv in twin bedroom was too far away from plug sockets. However we still had 2 tvs to choose from and to be honest, preferred to watch the seaview anyway! Will definitely be returning!!

Perfect stay at Marske-by-the-sea. The flat is very close to the beach and Marske is walkable to both Saltburn and Redcar. The flat faces South-East and you can see the sunrise from the living room window. The flat itself is very big with enough room for 4 people to stay comfortably. It's also within walking distance to the local village and pubs and markets. The car stayed at then designated parking space for the duration of our stay. Bonus 👍🏼.

Nice place, easy to find, free parking right outside. Great location and views of the sea, right on the beach, which would've been perfect, but for the terrible luck we had with the weather (post heatwave!). Garden was an added bonus and very sheltered, and very handy for our dogs. Place was spacious and tastefully decorated, but would benefit from some blackout blinds/curtains in the bedrooms; we were awake from 3/4am, and even left a day early due to lack of sleep during the first 2 nights owing to light, TV spontaneously turning on from 1am, and the front door rattling from the howling wind on night 2. We enjoyed our stay, but nature's influence hampered it a little, unfortunately.

I am disappointed that Dale would not allow me to change my booking dates. My other guest could not make the weekend away due to poor health. I had no way of getting a refund or swopping the dates. This was an expensive weekend for 1 person , and was not fully enjoyed , as the whole intention was to celebrate the ill person s 50th birthday.

Amazingly spacious apartment. All rooms exceptionally big. Great facilities and a out of this world view. Never got tired of the view. Fantastic location for walking the dog. Position wise just a short walk into the town centre with it's 2 supermarket convenience stores plus other local shops. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return one day

The location was fabulous right on the beach with access to lovely walks. The apartment was amazing very spacious and comfortable. The biggest downside is the noises from the occupants upstairs which went on to the early hours. Combined with the whirring of the central heating resulted in a disturbed night.

Fabulous flat with views on to the beach, very spacious. The only thing that let it down was the kitchen equipment. Very old and scratched pans and unfortunately the basics weren't there - like a sieve, wooden spoon etc. It would improve the experience no end if a bit of money was spent on some good quality items. We like to cook a lot and really struggled in this kitchen.

The flat is great and the view is amazing. Would definitely come again. The style of the flat is lovely as is the space. The kitchen utensils, pans and crockery need updating, replacing. It’s a shame the windows were mucky as it stopped you from enjoying the view from inside, I appreciate that the weather and being so near the sea will mean the windows get mucky quicker but when you’re paying more for the fabulous view it would be good if the 2 front windows were cleaned more regularly. Overall great though and we felt right at home.

Stunning!! I could not take enough photos! Gorgeous and spacious property, literally 1 min to the beach and simply the most amazing views! Saltburn is really walkable and some really nice restaurants, cafes also within a 10 min walk. This was one of the best and most relaxing breaks I have had.. If you want to switch off and relax - go here 😁

A spacious, nicely styled apartment with wonderful views of the sea. Peaceful location, with direct access to the beach. The beds were comfortable, with clean linen. The shower was excellent. The kitchen was only adequately equipped, but we made the best of it. The cooker was working, but very slow. A good new fridge/freezer. There were some issues with cleanliness - in the kitchen only. We reported these whilst there. It was disappointing. Kitchen knives definitively need replacing as very blunt and much of the crockery chipped. The apartment had a feel that it needed refreshing and a few more soft touches, throws for example. It would cost very little to bring it up to date and then my review would have been very different. The smart tv was not connected to the Wi-Fi, so unable to use streaming. We couldn’t activate the heating. There was plenty of hot water. It was only chilly in the evenings. The decoration was good, but we strongly disliked all the artificial plants!

The house was in a great location and was very clean. I didn't realise when I booked that this was a property management company, you can tell. Firstly, they insist on a liability waiver for damages even though Airbnb provide that already and wouldn't give us check in details without it. Secondly, the house, though clean and excellent location was lacking any kind of personality or comforts that you would usually expect from an Airbnb. Thirdly, we couldn't find the iron and when we asked the host they replied "it's listed as an amenity" and would give no further response despite messaging us constantly about reporting damage. On closer inspection everything is wearing out, there are marks on the walls and carpets, lights that don't work, linoleum pulling up in cupboards and a dodgy key box. Lastly, the instructions they leave are SPARSE, there is no mention of a shared garden, where to find amenities or most of the usual info you'd expect to find.

Absolutely STUNNING apartment, it really is as close to the beach as the pictures made out. It was a perfect get away to read, paint and chill! Please note as it is hosted by a business there’s not much in the way of amenities in the kitchen. We had to buy oil & milk & sugar as there was only sachets etc. There also wasn’t an oven mitt or tea towels not really a negative just something to note.

I spent 3 nights here and loved every minute of it! When I arrived at the accommodation, the instructions on where to park and how to enter were clear so that took away any stress. And when I entered, I wish my house looked that good! It was perfect for me and my dog but could also host another 3/4 people easily. The location was the main factor in booking this as my dog loves the beach and it was PERFECT! Open the front door and a very short walk down a path then you are on the sand. From there you can walk to Saltburn (about 1.5 hours with the dog playing in the water) and there were plenty of pubs/restaurants/cafes that are dog friendly. The Airbnb had everything we needed: Full kitchen Sitting areas Living room with netflix on the TV Very comfy bed LOTS OF SPACE! I would definitely recommend this and might even come back myself!

The accommodation has the most beautiful location, views are spectacular. We found the property lovely & excellent space for us. We struggled with the noise from the properties above us, we were disturbed throughout the night as they used to the front door waking us and our dogs who naturally bark at the disturbance. The house has been split into 3 separate apartments but the main entrance for all apartments is in the original downstairs of the home, there is no suitable front door to the downstairs apartment or any element of sound proofing it was the only downside but it felt a considerable disturbance to our break.

The flat is wonderful; incredible views, large, clean and airy rooms and a nice secluded back yard. Would absolutely recommend it! But…..horrible issues with the actual “hosts”, Host and Stay. I booked through Air B & B, and the booking was confirmed, and full payment was taken. When we arrived at the property, there was an email waiting for me from “Host and Stay” requiring me to call them for check-in details. They’d send the email when we were en route. I called; no answer. I messaged to ask for the key box code and to check in, and was told I needed to complete Host and Stay’s additional verification process. To get the key box code, I had to either pay £25 to an external website (Superhog) to cover “accidental damage insurance”, or pay a deposit of £250 with an additional £10 admin fee. And sign an additional contract directly with Host and Stay. Avoid Host and Stay properties; their additional hidden charges are unfounded and unjust, and their customer service is dreadful.

What an absolutely stunning location! The flat was really lovely, especially that super light and airy lounge with the magnificent view. The only downer is the amount of noise from the flat upstairs and the main staircase! If you have a dog that barks at noise, don't book here!

A nice place we have stayed in before. Great location and nice interior. Think for the price they charge there should be essentials like salt, pepper etc in the kitchen. Means you have to get all that even for a short stay. Also find the 4pm check in a bit inconvenient / cheeky for what you are paying. Otherwise lovely place.

A lovely stay with the beach on your doorstep and amazing views, walkable distance to the high street of the little town. Just be aware that if you’re arriving late most of the restaurants around stop serving food around 8PM. We had a couple of less likeable moments such as when you walk into the property it doesn’t clearly say 13a on the door and there are two doors but the lock wasn’t really working for either. You can hear everything going on in 13b upstairs which was a little disruptive. Otherwise lovely little place.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of Feb half term. Lovely if you want a peaceful apartment close to a beach and local amenities. Lots of dog walkers on the beach and cliffs, and this suited us as we had one. Information from booking to departure were very easy to understand. We didn't need to contact the hosting company during our visit, and the proactive info provided about the apartment and the localilty was first class. All in all, a lovely break and we would return, as long as the price was right.

Beautiful spacious venue that allows you to relax whilst visiting. Opening the windows inthe lounge or master bedroom you can hear the rhymic tide and waves of the sea clearly. The beach is almost on the doorstep, stretching for miles in either direction. The beach itself was easy to walk, with tall sand dunes rising up. Facilities of the town are no more than a 10 or 15 minute walk away. The hosts are extremly helpful and responsive. Parking is available for only one car immediately outside the property. However, during our stay (December into January) there was plenty of street parking available nearby (within a couple minutes walk, off the private road). Cooking facilities were good, though the knife block / knives could be better. There was some difficulty chopping carrots! Note a cleaning fee of £60 was charged at the time of the booking.

A fantastic flat which is more spacious than the photos would suggest. The location is second to none with a gorgeous beach just steps away. The flat had everything we needed to make our weekend break comfortable with parking directly outside - a lovely neighbour informed us where exactly we should park as apparently it can get very busy - not surprising as it is so close to the beach. It’s a great base for lots of exploring the Yorkshire coastline, we’ll definitely be back for another weekend recharge.

Great apartment, so close to the beach and with stunning sea views from the bedroom and lounge. Beautifully finished inside, with some lovely touches, and the terrace at the front is a truly gorgeous place to chill and watch the world go around with a nice drink. The property is fresh and modern, with all the necessities for a family. Our 12 year olds gave a big thumbs up for the surf which was perfect for body boarding and the dogs had a great time chasing each other on the sands. Would definitely recommend and rebook ☺️

We had the most perfect stay at this beautiful place. It is so filled with light and with wonderful views of the sea. It was ideal for our 2 year old with a 2 minute walk down to the beach and also only a short walk into town for breakfast / essentials. The beds are extremely comfy and there is plenty of fresh towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and we were easily able to cater for ourselves. We enjoyed an amazing brunch at Craig's by the Sea, the cakes were incredible! It is also a perfect base for visiting other areas of the coast. We enjoyed trips to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Saltburn and Staithes. Communication with the host was easy and frequent. Absolutely no negatives and we will definitely rebook and highly recommend.

Perfect place to stay. Great views of the beach and more or less right outside the door. The little garden at the front is a great little place to chill and watch the world go by. Lovely and clean with everything provided including a TV in every room!

Excellent accommodation in a lovely location. We (family of four with two teenage boys…..and a border terrier) had a great short break, our first visit to the area. So close to the beach which was perfect for walks with the dog. The weather was great too, so we managed to make use of the outside terraced area for both breakfast and an early evening beer. Would definitely like to return.

Great holiday apartment on the beach. Dog and husband both loved it! The apartment was tastefully decorated and well equipped. Dishwasher and washing machine useful to have. Loads of space and lovely terrace out the front overlooking the path to the beach shared with the other two apartments in the building (we were usually the only people there). Private terrace out the back also nice and private but no view. No issues but just a point that there was some noise from the apartment above, not the peoples fault just not great sound insulation. Blinds in main bedroom not great for keeping out the sunrise light if you are a light sleeper.

What a great find…there are hundreds of reasons to stay here, but to save time, top 3. 1. Location - if you love the ocean, it is on your doorstep…literally. Whether a short walk before breakfast, a longer hike with the dog, or the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep. North Yorks moors only 20 min drive away…try Newton under Roseberry for a lovely hill climb and views across the county 2. Home from home - decor is simple and inviting, kitchen well laid out and equipped, beds comfy 3. The dog loved it…she made so many new friends running up and down the beach…even swimming in the sea in March!

A lovely clean and warm flat with amazing views. Child friendly with easy access to the beach. It is in a central location for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We will definitely return!

Amazing location and amazing sea views! My biggest problem was the wifi. It is awful. Especially in the evenings/nights. You'd struggle to watch a youtube video. As I was doing lots of work during my stay this made it tricky. You can't do zoom calls etc on it. Great house lots of space. 1 min walk down some steps to the sea. Craigs the local coffee shop does amazing brekky.

I don't want to gust too much about this apartment because I don't want it to become so popular that we can't get booked in again! If you are looking for a clean, modern, comfortable apartment in the most amazing location that accepts dogs, then this is the place for you. I have nothing bad to say about it and we will definitely be back!

So very light and airy, spacious, comfortable furnitures and very well kitted up accommodation. Really convenient having a washing machine. Host and Stay team and electrical engineer was so lovely with regards to communication and dealing with my ignorance (had a bit of a faff with the remote thermostat when we arrived). We fully enjoyed our stay and will definitely be recommending to friends and family. Many thanks Host and Stay!
