As described. For the money it was great. The location was fab and the beds were really clean but there was a musty smell which is to be expected as it is a basement. Great for a quick trip.

Ideal position in city centre,we have stayed here before but in th upstairs appt which was spacious and excellent.The basement appartment was cramped and in my opinion too small for 4 adults to stay.The bedrooms were tiny and kitchen ok but lounge area awkwardly shaped for 4 .Overall we enjoyed our stay but wouldnt stay in basementagain Regards PS happy with price Stephen Davies

Very central location, nearby shops and market. Car park was 5 min walk away. Enjoyed our stay. Quick responsive and approachable host.

When I checked in, I found that the house was not cleaned. I had to wash the sheets myself. It was difficult to communicate with the Host, and they found reasons to kick me out of the house.

We did not enjoy our stay at the Merchant basement. The bedroom area is claustrophobic, damp and had an odd smell. There is no opportunity to let fresh air in as there is only one window which does not open. The flat felt unclean, there was a hairbrush full of hair in the bedroom and a used eyeliner on the floor. There was mould in the shower. Crockery was chipped. Cutlery was unclean. The mattresses are ancient and the springs are caved in at the centre. The positive was that the flat was easy to find and very well located, right near the shops and a short walk from the train station. Luckily we only needed a place to sleep and did not need to spend much time in the flat.

Really great place to stay- exactly as it looks. Clean, comfy, warm, easy to find and check in/ check out and brilliant location. The host were available if we needed anything although we didn’t because there was plenty of loo role, soap etc. Definitely recommend- it was a cute little place.

Great location with on site parking. Beds were comfy and a spacious house for the price. Also very helpful hosts when a booking was made for wrong dates.

Great location and communication. We didn't have the possibility to enjoy our stay for personal reasons and had to leave in a hurry, leaving a mess behind. We are really sorry for that... However, everyone was responsive and nice to us. I recommend the place and book it on the next opportunity.

Pros: Clean with new carpet and good kitchenware. Cons: Extremey pokey accommodation. Very scruffy entrance to flat with dead hanging baskets, debris and weeds. Suited my needs for short visit but would not recommend.

We made a booking, with which there were problems. The company were helpful and found us an alternative. The alternative was right in the centre of town, near a clock that chimes every 15minutes (they did provide earplugs). The address could do with saying the name of the house as well as the door number, as the front door didn’t display the door number and we got quite muddled trying to find it. It was dark and we were tired and this would have just made things smoother. The apartment itself was clean and bright.

Great last minute find, communication and info was excellent and immediate. Place was wonderfully cool in the heat because it is underground and had everything we needed in a great, central location.

This place was a wonderful place for a very reasonable price. If you’re looking for somewhere cosy in the heart of town then look no further. The location is great for shopping in the centre, places and pubs to eat out and grocery shopping too.

Great location. Had everything I needed for a last minute work trip. Communication prior to arrival was excellent and the self check-in meant I didn’t have to worry about when my meetings were going to end.

I have given this a 1 star review because my husband and I stayed in the Airbnb below run by Guest Homes last week and were very shocked to find it had just 1 window by the front door at the very top of the stairs - by the front door leading to the street. This is the only means of exit in a fire. The entire rest of the property is underground. I was very concerned as the kitchen is just before said stairs so if there were to be a kitchen fire and you were unable to reach the stairs as a result, you would be trapped as there is literally no other way to get out of the building. Aside from this shocking safety issue, the Airbnb was "ok". Decorated nicely but very basic facilities for the price - for example there was no handwash in the bathroom (how unhygenic), sponge to wash up with or even a pint of milk in the fridge for our arrival. You could argue that these are not for the host to provide but in all my years of staying in Airbnbs this is the first one not to provide this and therefore it was very noticeable.

Very clean and great communication- a very good option if you are planning to mainly use for sleeping- not that great for hanging out in during the day as the living area is essentially a hallway and the kitchen is on the lower floor so has no natural light.

The location is absolutely perfect! You’re right in the centre of Hereford and there’s just something magical about walking out of the door and being right there. The airbnb itself was perfectly fine for a place to crash, but nothing super fancy. Worth it for the location, though!

Ouch! This place is horribly overpriced for a slightly smelly, shabby, unclean flat where wide angle lens photos make you think it’s going to be wonderful. Food baked onto cooker, mouldy shower and fridge (complete with crumbs and hairs); bashes and smears and stains on the walls; then the shower overflowed because the drain was blocked - bringing who knew what up into the tray. Yuk. Biggest cobwebs across the one and only window I’ve ever seen. Chipped crockery. Approach is through two yards full of bins and cigarette butts. I could go on… This place is billed as ‘beautifully presented’ and Covid cleaned. Clearly not.

Very quick replies from the hosts. We had a lovely stay and the location was perfect. The only improvement would be the cleanliness of the dishes & glasses. We had to wash up a lot of things because they were too dirty to use. It is a basement apartment too which meant it was a very dark place due to no windows. Apart from that, it was a convenient place to stay.

Josh is helpful and responsive, a great host. He was even super flexible when we were delayed arriving a few times, and was happy to adjust our check-out time to allow us a more leisurely last morning. The flat was brand new - we were apparently the first to stay there. It is comfortable and well-decorated. Lots of natural light and excellent use of space. Highly recommend.
