Really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is in a great location in Whitby. It was a lovely apartment and nicely furnished but felt like it was maybe due a redecoration in parts. It was very clean and even though we didn't use the kitchen it felt well equipped etc. We would stay again!

Very modern, clean and had everything you could possibly need. Location is perfect just a short 5 min walk to the beach. Bed was extremely comfortable and living dining area was a perfect size.

The parking ! Couldn’t park outside and had to park down the road in a pay and display. So you had to keep checking your car was ok.
Then keep receipt and apply for reimbursement. Which I’m still waiting for.

We had a lovely stay here, managed to park right outside the place which was as great! Only 5 min walk to the beach and about 10 min walk into the shops/bars etc. The place was clean and tidy and the bed was super comfy! We did have to buy more toilet roll as we're only provided with 1 roll. But would defo stay again!

The property is in a good location and is well presented. However parking is a big issue. We were promised upon arrival that we would be provided with a scratch card car park permit. However this was not made available to use. For a 2 night stay we had to park on a 24 hour public car park a considerable walk away from the property resulting in car park fees of £27.10. Given that my wife has mobility issues the situation wasn't satisfactory.

We stayed at Silver Beach early May 2025 for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The flat was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. Bed was very comfy and the flat was nicely furnished.
Great location & very quiet. Town, beach etc. all very close, some fab places to eat & drink nearby.
Parking can be a challenge at weekends, but we always found a space within good distance and the parking tickets provided were a great help.
Can certainly recommend Silver Beach and would definitely stay again.

Instructions for finding the flat could have been clearer.
Demand for £20 damage waiver even though my insurance covered personal liability for damage to holiday properties.
Customer Service was abysmal - I forwarded all insurance documents requested to prove I was covered but I was repeatedly told they would check my policy up until the day before I travelled to the apartment. Finally, they said it took too long for them to reclaim insurance from customer's policies and a £20 damage waiver payment was, in effect, obligatory. So booking.com customers need to factor this into the cost of the apartment.
Minimal space for clothes - no wardrobe or chest of drawers. This would be OK for a few days but not for longer stays.

Great place. Easy check in and good accommodation/recommendation guide. Kitchen is well stocked for preparing meals with all the utensils you could need as well as cleaning products - makes it easy to use from the start. Parking is straightforward with the provided permits and was easy to find a spot on the street outside. Easy 5 min walk down to Whitby harbour side. Would return again

We have just had a great 3 night stay, this apartments is the idea location, it’s a short walk to pubs, restaurants, shops, the harbour & west cliffe, the apartment was as listed with everything you need for a perfect break! Silver beach is a comfortable and stylish apartment well situated in charming Whitby. The apartment has a good sized lounge room and bedroom which is very quiet but only minutes walk to the quaint shops and bustling seaside downtown one way and the stunning seaside cliff walk the other.

We had a lovely few days with just. 5 min walk to the beach and local shops. Upon arrival parking was challenging but we ended up parked at the door. Be careful with the scratch cards, we inadvertently put the blank card in the window and the completed one in our bag, so sadly we got a parking ticket, so be careful!
We had a minor boiler issue, I used the app to reach out early next morning and it was sorted very promptly by breakfast.
The bed was very comfortable and all basics provided.
If you turn left out of the apartment, left at the junction towards the sea, there is a very nice coffee booth, its open 9am-9pm the coffee is great and we watched the sun go down with a hot chocolate one evening which was lovely.
Rusty Shears was a great breakfast and warm welcome.
We would recommend this accommodation.

Great location to explore Whitby. We found the on street parking to be easy when parking in a W zone. The accommodation could do with a quality and maintenance check before guests arrive. The shower fitting is loose, towel warmer missing a silver cover, T-bag jar was empty (take your own tea bags), window catches not closed properly on arrival. The overall cleanliness was okay, but the apartment had a strong smell of chemicals when we arrived and we had to open all of the windows. We never received the online check in form prior to our arrival and I did chase several times to be told that it would be sent out.

I stayed with my partner at Dale's apartment, Silver Beach in Whitby. I know Whitby very well and the first thing to impress me was the location of the apartment. It's a 5 minute walk to the North beach and perfect for exercising the dog in the morning (you need to go to the far left end during the Summer months). Heading into town is also a 5 minute walk where there are great pubs and restaurants. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean and very modern. It has all the facilities that you need and we managed to get an on street parking spot right outside the apartment. I would highly recommend Silver Beach and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Silver Beaches is a cracking little flat in Whitby. Much bigger than we expected. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Comfy beds and a great shower. On street parking but a permit is provided and we managed to get a spot right outside our accommodation. The host was very responsive and all instructions were clear and easy to follow. Highly recommended.

Parking was a problem. As an elderly couple we booked this apartment on the understanding we would get a parking permit to take the worry from us. On arrival I had to phone the number provided and were told there was no such permit for this. Booking.com eventually text me apologising that it wrongly advertised that a permit would be available As it was parking was available a few minutes away but cost me another £25 on top of my break. Just be aware to confirm parking is available if needed. It put a damper on the first day

Please note the host requires guests to get damage protection before staying. The flat was clean but a little more attention could have been paid to certain aspects, i.e parts of the bathroom were a little dusty.

The apartment was beautiful and clean as well as being well presented. Super comfy bed , brilliant shower ( although did struggle a bit as it was over the bath) everything you needed was in the apartment even down to washing up liquid and dish cloths. Good job I thought to bring a tea towel as they were not provided. Small supply of tea sugar and milk was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again. Slight issue with parking permit but was sorted out immediately.

Only downside was the sneaky admin fee on your damage deposit 😕

The apartment was very easy to find and we found the instructions to gain access very clear and easy to understand.
It was extremely clean and tidy, with all the equipment in good condition. We felt at home and enjoyed our stay.
There is street parking but you will need a parking disc for this. We used Westcliff Pay and Display which is £ 10.80 for 24 hours.
Overall we loved our stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Good walking distance from the shops, bars and restaurants. Comfortable bed. Tea, coffee & milk sachets provided.

The free scratch card parking card wasn't left and when queried it I was told to send a copy of my car parking receipt plus a copy of their advert stating and they would reimburse me, however, its now been 4 days since sending everything asked for and there's no sight or sound of it. I paid more as it included free parking. I won't use Host & Stay again.
I also found it dirty, especially the bathroom which was thilthy with dirty, grimy tiles, grout, shower hose, taps etc. Plus there were bags of rubbish outside the bedroom window. Some was builders materials, sand etc. But there was also black bin liners with who knows what in them. I was so concerned that I didn't like opening the window in case smells or bugs got in.

Quiet. Fairly convenient for Whitby train etc. Washing machine!

No drier unfortunately. Very sparse shampoo/soap etc given we were there for 9 days and paid for this accommodation several months in advance.
I think a ‘damage payment’ or whatever the euphemism is (£25) on top of the payment is a bit rich.

The apartment was spotless with enough tea / coffee and milk provided to have that all important first cuppa on arrival. Kitchen equipment was all provided along with tea towel, dish cloth, washing up liquid and sponges - excellent. Parking permits provided, quiet location close to main attractions.

The property management company Host and Stay provided a terrible service. 1. They added a £30 non refundable charge for insurance after we paid the booking.com final price. They refused to give us access to the property until we paid this money. 2. The property promised and included car park permits which were not provided so we had to pay additional on street parking when we arrived. 3. Host and Stay promised to refund the parking charges, but despite chasing them 4 times they still have not refunded our money

Note to the owner: The freezer need to be defrosted. Massive ice build up.

Cannot complain too much. For the price, the accommodation was modern, clean and looked beautiful. Parking was free but a bit of a nightmare to find any close by as it was very busy on the street parking. The main sting in this stay was that we were told a washing and drying machine was available. Upon arrival, it was made apparent that this was no where to be seen. This was very disappointing for us as we had our three month old baby with us, who produces a lot of washing! I therefore had to spend one morning of our holiday hand washing items. Even worse, these items did not dry for three days (as we did not have a drying machine) so we had to take more time out of our holiday to individually dry the baby's clothes with a hair dryer!
Unfortunately, a case of being over promised something and underdelivered.

The property is in a great location for Whitby and the surrounding areas, and the apartment looks just as it does online.

The kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. and the blankets for any pets was a nice touch as well.

Difficult to find - Helpful info from a local is that streets in Whitby all have two names, which would have been good to know beforehand. Maps takes you round to the back of the property so it's not particularly clear - and not somewhere I would want to try and navigate for the first time at night.A better point to anchor the location would be the Masonic Lodge directly opposite in my opinion.

Bed was comfy but there were a few marks on the sheets which made me question if they had been washed beforehand - otherwise everything else was spotless.

I had quite a few issues getting the parking scratchcard sorted which was frustrating as it was one of the main reasons I booked this property. I flagged as soon as I arrived that the scratchcard wasn't in the flat and it took a couple of days to get sorted - so in the meantime I had to repeatedly come back and move the car (this would have been very difficult for anyone with a child) while the hosts stopped responding to my messages.

Once it finally got dropped off it was fine, but put a dampener on the first couple of days - and the lack of communication was frustrating (as well as having to pay for parking while this got sorted)

The flat was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen. The road outside was quiet, and the bedroom was exceptionally quiet. Really, really comfortable bed.

I would have preferred the obligatory £25 deposit to have been flagged up in advance of booking, or added onto the room cost.

We had a lovely stay here for a few days for our honeymoon! The apartment was pristinely clean, very modern, spacious and private. We were sent an extremely useful guide via email before our stay with all the check-in instructions and information; it even had recommendations for local places to eat, sights to see etc which was brilliant. Location was perfect, it’s just around the corner from the whale bones up on the west cliff, and a short walk down to the town centre (be prepared for hills,
though that’s unavoidable in Whitby!) There was even a jigsaw by the tv which kept us occupied for hours when the weather was terrible. Many thanks for our wonderful stay here :)

Really quiet. Well equipped. Good location within an easy walk of the town and the harbour. Very quiet. Bedroom was at the back away from the street. Good facilities. Easy to get in and check out. Parking voucher given. Nice shops and bars close by.

It was quiet when we were there so parking wasn't an issue but I suspect at a busier time of year it could be a problem.

Except paying additional cleaning fees and booking fees, I also need to pay a mandatory insurance fee. Otherwise I can't get the check-in information.
no washing machine, no charging socket for electric toothbrushes, and the staff seems not familiar with what was in the room.
I’M not allowed to leave my luggage in any area outside the room after checking out. this is the only one that doesn’t  provide any support for luggage placement after checking out. My return ticket was at 13:00, the check-out time was 10:00, so I had to wait outside for 3 hours with my heavy luggage.

We really enjoyed staying at Silver Beach and had a great time in Whitby. We thought the flat was very well appointed, clean, comfortable and in a great location. The information pack was very helpful indeed and we appreciated that this was supplied digitally prior to our stay. We would definitely stay at Silver Beach again should we return to Whitby.

Even if it was booked at the last minute and after a rather long journey, when we arrived it was as if we were at home but in a different scenario. Everything arranged down to the last detail, from umbrellas prepared for unforeseen weather to blankets for dogs , makes the place welcoming and relaxing, you just have to take care of organising your days out( all the touristic attentions are close to this beautiful accommodation) . An extraordinary host ready to help you with any concerns you may have. An unforgettable experience and one that will remain unique in its own way until the next time we return. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the place that made us feel at home.

Great location provided good access to the town and seafront, close to everything. Parking on the street made transferring our luggage to and from the car easy. The apartment was modern and spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable sofa and bed, we slept very well. Nice touches were the dog blankets, umbrellas we thankfully did not need and the tea, coffee and milk left for us was very much appreciated.

Great location - equidistant from the beach and the town, both a quick and easy walk. Very clean, comfortable and homely apartment with everything we needed for our short break. Parking could possibly be an issue in high season, but the provision of a parking permit is a definite bonus.

Wonderful stay! Home from home. Would come back. But I did almost cancel the booking when we later received an email asking for a ‘security deposit’ of £250 which they’d hold and then take a £10 admin fee from or you pay £25 ‘insurance for accidental damage’. I’ve never had that before with an Air BnB and found it pretty outrageous. It is in the description of the property but it’s pretty far down.

I paid in full but did not gain entry as I was expected to give ALL my personal information including ID to a 3rd party to get damage waiver and the ALL reviews of this 3rd party company were dreadful. I should only have needed to provide a credit card, which I was happy to do. They would not give me any other option to pay a damage waiver. Appears to be a data gathering company who use your personal information for other purposes (read the small print). I will never book with Host and Stay again as in my opinion they are just information thieves and in some way connected to Superhog (3rd party) suggested insurance company, which they are not.

Couldn’t recommend enough! Beautiful place to stay, 5 minutes into the centre of Whitby. Very quiet and peaceful. The apartment was very cosy and well furnished, squeaky clean and had everything we needed.
Slight issue with the parking as we weren’t given a permit for long enough, however this was quickly resolved.
Would stay again, 100%! Dont hesitate to book this place!

A great location to explore Whitby and the surrounding area from. A really nice apartment, well-equipped, clean and modern and exactly as described. We stayed during a particularly cold spell during November/December but the Apartment quickly warmed up when we returned at the end of each day and was nice and cosy.

The location is great

It was quite dirty, carpet had pee stains everywhere. I understand it’s dog friendly but that isn’t good enough. There was fairy liquid spilled all inside the kitchen cupboard, not sure how it was missed by the cleaner. Bathroom also wasn’t very clean. Felt like I was staying in a student house.

Thank you Host & Stay and we would highly recommend Silver Beach for a short break / holiday in Whitby. Silver Beach was spotlessly clean, ideal size rooms with spacious living room and everything you needed for your stay and only 5 minutes to the beach and the town which has plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants etc on both sides of the harbour for your stay.

The door closed on us due to the lock not working properly, we called the Host & Stay office twice on the third call they said that unfortunately because they didn’t have spare keys for the property the earliest a locksmith could get which we would have to pay for would be 5+ hours after my initial call . They never updated us once very poor service. Property lovely, lack of spare keys vey bad management , wouldn’t go with Host & Stay again!

This property is well located for access to the beach and Whitby town harbour and town centre with lots of activities to enjoy.
The apartment was as described and felt both clean and fresh. It proved to be very comfortable and was just a short walk from the town centre.
A hiccup with the parking permits was addressed via the telephone help line and was satisfactorily resolved.
Whitby had plenty to offer and it was great to have accommodation within walking distance of town.
I would be very happy to return for a future visit.

Beautiful apartment in a quiet street but walking distance to beach, foreshore and town. There are lots of coffee shops nearby as well. Very comfortable bed and spacious rooms. Relaxing after the crowds in Whitby.

The only issue is parking ( not the fault of the accommodation ). Despite the parking permit, it was very tricky to get a park. It was the Whitby folk week, so parking was at a premium, but we managed to find something within a 10 minute walk, but it took around half an hour one day!!! Just so people are aware.

Stunning property, with all the amenities needed for a vacation.
Upon arrival, easy self check in, immaculately spotless (big thank you to Wendy for her housekeeping. she did a fabulous job)
The apartment was perfectly furnished with everything needed for our stay, loved the little touches like the dog blankets, umbrellas in the basket and the Nespresso machine.
Although we never cooked in the apartment it was well kitted with everything needed for self catering.
We had a really great sleep every night, It was a very quiet area and the bed was really comfortable with fresh clean linen.
Fresh clean towels, very clean and modern bathroom with a great shower experience.
Top this great apartment off in an awesome seaside town set in an area of outstanding beauty puts it in my top 5 list of places to stay.
Will definitely book again with Host & Stay and look forward to staying with them again.

Lovely apartment, bright open living area and all amenities required for a short break.
Great location, close to town and the beach which were walkable within minutes but nice and quiet for a peaceful nights sleep.
Perfect place to base yourself for exploring Whitby, would highly recommend.
The host also provided a free parking permit for the duration of the stay which was great and we never struggled to find a space close by.

location was great, whole apartment is newly redecorated so its new and fresh, comfy beds, loved that we found Whitby guidebook inside, very clean and tidy, lovely interior design, got pdf guide of best restaurants and caffes around Whitby that was super helpful

no hand soap or washing up liquid! for the price you pay it has to be included!! carpets everywhere so when you get to the property from outside if your shoes are full of mud - good luck washing the carpet on our holidays! tricky with parking, hard to find where to park, EXESSIVE emails from hosts.. I got over 6+ emails about confirming my stay and that they are looking forward to hosting us, I am sure one is enough!

We had 2 nights. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, well equipped, modern, of a high standard and just as described by the host and other reviewers.
It is very near to the town where there are numerous good quality restaurants, bars and live music at weekends. We especially enjoyed Harry's restaurant, although it was a bit pricey.

The flat itself is very nice. Clean, smart, plenty of room. Location is great too.

Before we even set off, was told that we either had to pay £250 deposit (on top of which they charged you £10 to do the transfer aswell) or spend £25 on a waiver. I received a lot of emails telling me to do this. Never before have I had to do this. Check in is very late, as we wanted to make the most of our weekend. We were there early. I asked if we could just nip in to get the parking permit so I didn't have to mess about with parking and told no. Was also unimpressed by the fact they didn't supply milk but did have all other tea / coffee supplies. Was then also sent 4 messages on the Saturday to tell me what time i had to leave the next day! Not very relaxing and very annoying. The apartment is lovely, but the company in charge not so good. There's a reason why so many of the 'Host and Stay' run apartments are still available, it's the people who run them. The whole charge thing means I'd never book with them again.

Property in a good location. Flat was very comfortable. Bed very comfy. Nice touch that there was milk tea and coffee.

The key safe was not marked with the flat no. Caused a bit of stress when arriving. The walk way up to the front door is not very tidy. Probably owned by someone else. Parking a nightmare.

The location is excellent. Just a couple of streets away from the main shopping street, lots of nice bars and cafes about.
The apartment was large and spacious, lovely big windows.

the mattress is a little lumpy and the bed sofa was not comfy for watching tv/ reading etc. minor details but notable.

We hardly slept for 3 nights - I ended up on the sofa at 4am but couldn’t sleep. It was a special birthday weekend so we were very disappointed & that the host & stay local hosts did nothing! I took pictures & thought they may come around to check but nothing!

Great location within easy walking distance of the harbour and beach. Apartment was modern, comfy and clean and had everything needed for a holiday. Bedroom was large with a comfy bed and shower was good. Free parking permits were a bonus and we were able to park in the street close to the apartment. There is also a pay and display carpark within a few minutes walk too. We would definitely stay there again.

Having stayed here before when it was all immaculate, we were disappointed to find excrement stains not been cleaned in the toilet bowl and dirty skirting board in kitchen looked to be spilt food splashes. Did not spoil our stay.
