Amazing place and fabulous location. We stayed here once before a few years ago and it had not been cleaned when we arrived. I am so happy we gave it another chance because it was very clean and everything was perfect. The location is excellent and the house had everything we needed. The beds are comfortable and linens are all lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to return next year!

Just returns from a 4 night stay at Sea Haven. Location was perfect, right in the harbour, we would definitely recommend eating at the Cod and Lobster, the seafood was delicious! The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It would have been helpful to have the WiFi password in the information that was sent out, as we had to hunt around for it. A blind on the kitchen door window would be nice for a little extra privacy, as you are directly behind another house and can see straight into their kitchen, but this was a minor thing. Would definitely recommend staying here and I would definitely return .

Enjoyable short stay in a comfortable cottage right in the centre of the village. 30 seconds walk to two good pubs. Very quaint village with a pleasant harbour and beach. Cottage was easy to find and good communication from the host. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay. Seahaven is right in the Centre of Staithes close to both pubs in the village and the beach. The cottage is beautiful clean and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. We would highly recommend.

Sea Haven is a well-presented and spacious cottage, offering a comfortable layout and good amenities. However, several aspects could benefit from attention. The dishwasher trays are rusty, and the lack of blinds in the kitchen compromises privacy. The living area is generous, though the sofas are stained and uncomfortable. Bedrooms are a good size with extra quilts provided. Heating and hot water were not activated on arrival, and the system was difficult to navigate—clear written instructions would be helpful. The area outside the back door was heavily soiled with pigeon mess, posing a slip hazard and making bin access unpleasant. Additionally, the kitchen window is difficult to reach. While the cottage has potential, these issues impacted our experience. We have previously enjoyed Host & Stay properties, and with some improvements, Sea Haven could meet the same high standards.

This is an absolutely beautiful house in a perfect location in Staithes. The only problem is the upkeep, which is an easy fix and would make all the difference. We are a family of 4 that stays in Staithes a few times a year. This is a beautiful home with all the amenities needed and has been done to a lovely standard. However a few significant upkeep issues did impact our stay. The mould in the bathroom shower head was disgusting. The oven was broken and did not work. Window Blinds in multiple rooms were damaged. The dish washer was rusted on the inside, making it appear very unclean. Would recommend based on location and overall facilities but some cleaning/upkeep would be helpful.

This is a great little cottage right next to the harbour and the Cod & Lobster that serves wonderful seafood. 2 lovely bedrooms each with a window overlooking the harbour and each with its own bathroom, both with shower and one with bath too. Very comfortable beds 1 king size the other with 2 singles. Lovely crisp white cotton bedding and plenty white towels. Kitchen well kitted out with everything you need including dishwasher (no washing machine or freezer). All facilities v good for this type of cottage in Staithes. Shame then there’s a few little things that could easily be put right - lounge blind needs replacing (been chewed by a dog), several bedroom furniture handles are broken - it’s good quality and handles good easily be replaced, lounge rug could be replaced as it’s a bit dirty and the sofas are past their best. The place is up for sale and could do with a little TLC but it was clean and very comfortable for a short stay. No parking in Staithes so reserve private parking

1 Barras Square was a truly fantastic stay, very clean and Beautiful sea views from each bedroom. The house was right next to the harbour and the beach a 1-2 min walk away, fully equipped with everything you need for your stay and even some extras. Very well presented and the photos are a true representation of the house. It was peaceful and lots to do in the village of staithes would 100% recommend staying here :) we stayed with 3 dogs and 2 kids and had plenty of space.

When we arrived the home had not been cleaned. Dishwasher full of dishes and bins full of rubbish. The beds were dirty and unmade and we found used tissues in the bedding. The towels from the previous person were on the floor in the showers, wet and dirty. Used shampoo bottles and dirty sinks. The beds and floors were sandy. We were unable to make contact with our host that day and the home was not cleaned until 23.5 hours after we checked in. So, we had dirty bedding and no towels for our first night. We were given a partial refund and the location is excellent. I would have given this place 5 stars if it had been clean but since it wasn’t and the host was hard to reach I would not stay again or recommend to friends or family. A shame as it’s a lovely house and location and deserves better care.

A great place to stay in the heart of Staithes. The sea views from the bedrooms were fantastic. A very clean and comfortable cottage with spacious rooms, ideal for a family of 4 with a dog ! I would definitely like to visit again.

We had a great stay. Lovely place. Loved the village. Parking as described. Bit of a jam getting out of the village but that was expected with it being bank holiday and half term week. The dishwasher seal was damaged and didn’t want to risk using it, but that was fine, just washed up few bits used. We made the most of the lovely food available in the village. Good communication- everything was great - thank you

the accommodations was lovely. the location was hilly with lots of stairs with carpark a 10min walk away. might have been nice if there were a few board games in the cupboard.

I booked the accommodation in advance for a very long time, however, the parking space has been changed in the meantime: you can only park your car at the public parking lot for a parking fee of 7.20 per 24 hours, which is an 8-minute walk (uphill) (in the original listing was spoken of a treat you can get; this has now been changed). In addition, the accommodation does not have a washing machine, as stated in the listing; since this was absolutely necessary for us, we had to change the accommodation. Although the communication was prompt, we couldn't find a joint solution, which is why we ended up having to cancel and look for a different place to stay. Overall: nice location if you love small ports, but for longer stays was probably not well suited (parking conditions and lack of washing machine).

The house is in a great location in a lovely village, sea views from the bedrooms. We arrived to find a dirty kitchen, and no cleaning supplies to tackle it ourselves. Contacted Host & Stay, very slow to respond. Eventually offered to send someone to clean the kitchen but by this time (2 days later) we were due to check out. Middle floor bathroom light wouldn’t work when the landing light is on. Dishwasher in the kitchen but no dishwasher tabs or cleaning supplies. Also there is no parking permit as mentioned in other reviews. Parking at the top of the village at £6 per day. Has the potential to be a great holiday let, but requires better management and a little TLC. Wouldn’t use Host & Stay again after this experience.

The house was lovely and in a really great location. The listing has some inaccuracies - a parking permit for ‘nearby’ was mentioned in a couple of places which was partly why we chose the property but there wasn’t one and parking was up a steep hill and £6 a day. The guide we were sent mentioned steaming services but there was none on the main TV. I emailed the host about the parking and go to reply, only generic welcome and goodbye messages. We did think the house was great but more and clear accurate listing information would have helped.

Without question, the location of this property is absolutely wonderful. As is the view from both windows of the sea, the close proximity to the beach and the pub… wonderful! The house itself was also very comfortable. I don’t usually have any grumbles, but with this stay unfortunately I do have. Lesson learned - read T&C’s in more detail. I frequently use Air B&B and have attended online courses re becoming a host myself, so was surprised when, after booking realised I had to pay a damage deposit of £250 (refundable) and then on top of that either a £10 (non refundable) admin charge or spend an extra £25 for extra holiday insurance that I don’t need. As I understand it, AirB&B offer hosts amazing cover for damage liability. It seemed unnecessary to ask for such a deposit AND the extra charges I incurred after booking. Grumble over. ☺️- Location ☺️- Homely feel ☺️- Views ☺️- Warm and plenty of hot water 😣- Extra costs 😣- No milk, bread, butter etc. 😣- Could be cleaner
