The basement flat was lovely, it was clean, tidy, spacious. The kitchen had everything you need to make meals and eat in. We felt at home as soon as we came inside the flat.

So walking through the main door the hallway comes across a bit grim... sloppy paint work.. dark... exposed electrics etc... but once inside the accommodation we liked it and felt right at home... very clean... we liked the little open plan layout... perfect for short stay.... Comfy Sofa... Very Comfy bed... Kitchen had everything we needed... felt cosy... about cosy... the heating... so there is underfloor heating in the living room and bedroom... there is also radiators... but radiators these never came on... TRV's on both Radiators where up full.... the bathroom had an electric towel rail but it was dead.. spur on etc but nothing... I reported this to Host & Stay but no solution was offered... TV's quite old no Smart'ness.. NetFlix etc... 4pm Check in and 10pm Check out seems mean... felt rushed on our final morning.. OW! so the little blind in the bathroom opens directly into the kitchen.. theres no glass!! so any odours or sound effects will be recieved in either direction 🤣

Had a great long weekend in Saltburn. The flat is spotlessly clean, has everything we needed. Warm and cosy. It is a basement flat so can be a little dark but has some quirky lighting so more than makes up for it. Loved it. You won’t be disappointed. Plenty of shops and the beach is a 5 minute stroll away. A little gem! Thank you for the memories 😀

Just a had a fantastic 3 night stay at The Key of Sea apartment. The apartment is beautiful and absolutely pristine and spotlessly clean with lovely and quirky furniture. Everything thing about it is gorgeous, from the bedroom to the shower room to the living and kitchen area, just immaculate. Host and stay were fantastic in keeping us updated with all relevant information in making our stay a very memorable one. A special mention to Charlie at host and stay as well for all the updates and information, it was very much appreciated . Thanks again Host and Stay for your professionalism and great short stay break.

A great apartment for a single person or a couple. Nicely decorated and a very comfy king size bed! The apartment is perfect for Saltburn shops & cafés. It is only a few minutes from the beach. Parking is free and plentiful - I parked right outside the front door.

This is the 3rd place that we have stayed in slatburn and we think the best! great location, easy to walk to nearby amenities and very quite location given that there is a variety of traffic, people walking and the train line. host was very easy & responsive to any questions that we had. We plan on coming back to this appartment!

Gorgeous apartment. Spotlessly clean apartment, very tastefully decorated, with all the accoutrements needed for any eventuality, lovely large sofa and super king French bed was very comfortable, the underfloor heating was a plus, parking right outside, shops 50 meters and beach 5 only minutes walk away, all in all very enjoyable, we had a lovely stay and will certainly be back 😊

While Host & Stay were a good company to deal with, the apartment itself was in need of a deep clean. The sofa smelled terrible and needs either replacing or a deep clean, the main room had a heavy musty smell. It looks like it used to be the cellar to the main house. The smell was so bad, i ended up feeling ill from it. I booked for a quiet stay while i was in the uk looking after my Mum. I didn't get that as the immediate neighbours had no consideration. I feel let down by it and it wasnt worth the money. Sorry.

The apartment was easy to find with convenient street parking, though this might be challenging during busy times. Accessing the building via the key in a lockbox was straightforward. However, upon entering the apartment, there was a musty smell, possibly due to it being a cellar conversion. The kitchen and living room were spacious and the bathroom appeared new. Unfortunately, the accommodation was let down by a lack of cleanliness. The carpets and skirting boards seemed neglected, but the most disturbing issue was the bed frame. On lifting the mattress, I found a large accumulation of hair and dust along the head of the bedframe, indicating it hadn't been cleaned for some time, supporting images confirm this. The most disappointing aspect was being required to pay for insurance immediately after booking, with the key code withheld until payment was made. This unexpected charge should have been disclosed at checkout. Due to these issues I would chose not to stay here again.

We had a beautiful stay in Saltburn and found the apartment the perfect size for two. Everything was clean and tidy and the location was just a minute away from the shops and local conveniences, with the beach and seaside a short stroll. We would love to come back one day and thank you for your hospitality. We've had the nicest holiday in a long time!

Lovely, cosy apartment. Close to all amenities with free parking. Big, comfy bed. Advertised as having a washing machine and dryer in the apartment, however there is not one. Due to it being a basement apartment, there was a damp smell from the cupboards in the kitchen. Also no lock on the bathroom door and it doesn't close all the way due to it being a sliding wooden door. We had to use the bin in the bathroom to hold the door shut. Overall 4/5 stars due to comfort and location. One star knocked due to false advertisement regarding the washing machine and damp smell.

Good value and beautiful area. Under floor hewring was lovlely bit did leave a few damp patches in the kitchen floor. Could use an extractor fan as sofa and bed linen felt damp on arrival

A lovely basement flat, a bit bohemian but with all the mod cons. Just like home from home, it had everything you needed. The bed was particularly comfy. Well placed for the beach, a Spar and Sainsbury's on the doorstep, and plenty of takeaways a short walk away.

I stayed two weeks in the Airbnb for a business tripp. The Apartment was super clean and the bed very comfortable. I really enjoyed the underfloor heating. But in the bathroom is no underfloor heating, so it was really cold in the bathrom, especially the floor, because the Apartment is in the basement of the building.

This apartment is comfortable and is in a perfect, central location in Saltburn, an easy stroll from the seafront. There are some delightful bars in the town, and the whole experience is relaxing and unrushed. Communication beforehand, during and after our stay was excellent, and we had very prompt support when we had a query. All in all, In the Key of Sea can be highly recommended!

Absolutely gorgeous apartment, perfect position in the town. Very short walk to beach and a really nice and welcoming bar/pub life around. Some very good restaurants and cafes around too. Would highly reccomend. More than likely to return at some point.

An amazing apartment great use of space, home from home everything you need for an amazing break away. The central location gives you access to the town's amenities, supermarket, bars restaurants some fantastic café's. The location also allows you access to all the local attractions, the beach, the Pier, Valley gardens, miniature railway and the Victorian Tea Rooms all are within walking distance of the apartment. We couldn't have asked for anything better, fantastic apartment, fantastic location and accessibility to local attractions cannot recommend enough.

Beautiful place to stay. Lovely furniture and ambiance. Couch and bed really comfortable!!!! Only downside was that you could hear every footstep from the apartment above. Its a great location with pubs, restaurants and beach within an easy walking distance.

The Key of the Sea Is highly recommended. A lovely well presented apartment, welcoming and clean with good quality fixtures and furnishings. The bed linen is very nice and the bed is incredibly comfortable, the apartment was very quiet so a great nights sleep was had. There is easy street parking. Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a unspoilt Victorian town with great views, walks and lots of Cafes, Restaurants and Bars I certainly look forward to returning to The Key of the Sea .

A perfect little getaway for a couple. This modern basement conversion has been done extremely well and is very cosy and well-equipped. Lovely big comfortable bed and very comfy sofa that you can curl up in. Location is perfect as it’s close to the station and some good cafes and restaurants, and a short stroll to the seafront.

Great communication from the host with easy check-in and check-out. The flat is beautifully decorated and clean, with a comfy super king bed. The location was great as it was near to the station, shops, and places to eat. One night of my stay I went to a place called Parlours which was nearby and that had a nice tapas-like menu including some good veggie and vegan options. I'd happily stay here again.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk from shops, bars and restaurants. The walk down to the beach is 10 minutes or so. The apartment is recently refurbished and is lovely and clean with all the amenities you could need. Overall a great stay and we would recommend.

Wonderful place in a great town! Creatively decorated and pleasant space. Beautiful ornate and comfortable bed, although the legs stick out and are a hazard to shins. Saltburn-By-The-Sea has quiet elegance and a fantastic beach without the crowds and noise of neighbors down the coast.

Cool, quirky little flat situated on the Main Street in Saltburn . Next door to the guitar shop. Parked on the street right outside the flat . Cool decoration and big comfy sofa . It is below street level and down quite a few stairs but windows in the living space and bedroom let light in . A little bit odd that theres a window shaped hole in the wall between the bathroom and kitchen and just a blind . Guessing it’s for ventilation . The super king bed is very comfy , no noise at all . Had an amazing stay in saltburn and Milton Street has some excellent craft beer bars and independent restaurants. So close to the sea too . Will definitely be back .
