The house was in a good location easy to walk into Whitby. Our stay was a family long weekend away together . It was good having the kitchen and lounge area together. The facilities were excellent if you needed to cook wash clean up everything was provided. Each couple had a good comfortable bedroom…2 bathrooms..one bath with shower and a walk in shower. A children’s room looked very inviting even a few toys and books and games. The house was warm cosy and inviting a lovely time was had by everyone. Coop near by if needed not too far to park a third car.

Lovely home close to town amenities. Unfortunately had to cut our stay short due to adverse weather (woukd have been snowed in as the property is on a steep hill) but otherwise cannot fault. Clean, spacious, cosy, lovely that childrens toys were in bedroom and hot water on tap. Only comment would be a positive one that from description it sounds like there is only one shower but there is one over the bath in the main bathroom as well as the ensuite which is helpful when 8 of us to get ready! We struggled to get the lock box open to get access but think this was likely as it was -4 and frozen shut. Lovely stay would stay again. Thank you

Great location only a short walk into the centre of town. 2 parking spaces at the front which were great, property had everything we needed, bonus having a few double beds at the property.

We were a large extended family of 9 and was perfect for our needs! The house was perfectly situated to be able to get easily around without needing to drive! The kitchen and social areas were great for shared mealtimes and spending evening time together! The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfy! Very minor issues in that the access to the building was a bit of a struggle for elderly parents as there are uneven steps to the door! Also would have been better to have an extra bathroom, as it was one en-suite and the rest of the house shared another, but we made it work and didn’t cause any issues to our stay. Would absolutely recommend to others who are away with family groups, and would book again!!

We really enjoyed our stay here, the house was clean and comfortable, lots of space. Loved the chalk board for the kids, kept them entertained. I think it would be good for the owners to show pictures of the back and front yard for guests with dogs just so they know what outdoor space they have for their pet. The only negative feedback would be that the black bin outside was completely full when we arrived on the Monday and we had 4 nights there. I did contact Host and Stay who responded quickly and said they would contact the owner but unfortunately that was the last we heard, we have to make do with a full bin all week, this wasn’t ideal with having a dog with us and the weather being warm. Other than that everything else was fine and we loved our stay

This house was absolutely perfect for our two families. We instantly felt right at home, and the space was fantastic for both the adults and the kids to hang out together. The location felt very safe and was super convenient for everything we wanted to do. It was close enough that the teens could head back early for some sofa time and Netflix, while the parents were able to enjoy a couple of local beers without a worry. The house was clean and truly made our trip so much easier. We highly recommend this Host & Stay’s listing!

Lovely accommodation, great location. Host were very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t get the middle level front door to unlock, had to go down the steps to the lower level, this was quite awkward with the kids and the luggage as the steps were steep and uneven. The house itself was clean and tidy and close to the harbour. Would definitely recommend to others.

Location is very central and the 3 story Accomodation has 2 bedrooms on 2 levels which allows for privacy but access to en-suite or bathroom. Loved the decor and felt just like home We had 7 stay but easily would fit another 3 in Appreciated the coffee pods and used the umbrella Had a lovely stay thank you

Great accommodation for 2 families to get together. The kitchen is really well equipped and we were able to do a full roast dinner. Everyone said how well they slept, there was constant hot water and the house heated quickly when it went chilly. Within easy walking distance of Whitby. Approachable host who responded quickly to queries. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We stayed for a long weekend, there was 4 couples, 2 children, a baby and a pooch and we had a perfect family vacation. the location, layout and style of the home was fab and Dale was a great host from first enquiry to checkout. location wise we were just a 5-10 minute stroll to Whitby centre - would deffo recommend and would definitely stay again - amazing value for money thank you :)

The house is lovely and very convenient for amenities and coast. However the dish washer was broken and the bath leaked into the kitchen, the beds were uncomfortable. My biggest complaint is the lack of care when reporting this, there was no local agent so it was someone on the phone miles away and all they could say was have you another bathroom, not sorry or how can we help. So we had one shower for 9 people for 5 days!

We had a really nice few days staying as a family (6 adults and 4 children) at the Alby. Mainly due to the proximity to the centre of Whitby and the ease of accessing all parts of the area. There are several issues with the property unfortunately which need to be mentioned. On arrival the cleaning was poor, the kitchen floor had not been swept/mopped and the surfaces were not cleaned. The sofas and kitchen units hadn’t been cleaned underneath. There is a damp/ musty smell in the kitchen and living room which is due to it being in the cellar of the house but with regular maintenance it could be lessened. The bedrooms and bathrooms are fine and as pictured on the listing, the showers are powerful. What is a let down really is the general maintenance of the property. The photos are clearly a few years old and there are several areas that need work. The hosts are responsive but it is just a standard reply and it’s a shame because it could be a great place with regular maintenance.

We had a really lovely stay in this house, which is really well situated just a few minutes from the centre of Whitby. Lots of space and super well organised for 9 of us (6 adults and 3 kids) to spend a long weekend together without getting under each other’s feet. Two parking spots was a bonus, although the road is narrow and parking space was tight! Also a lovely picnic table in the garden let us chill out in the sunshine. Only two downsides for us: the house was a bit tatty and hadn’t been very well cleaned before we arrived (kitchen smelled of damp, stains on the carpets and walls, dodgy door handle in one of the bedrooms, chipped plates, dirty counters and some of the decor was broken); this probably wouldn’t have mattered except for the slightly litigious tone of communication, which involved no direct communication with the host and instead being contacted by a third party prior to arrival who tried to sell us insurance against breakages/damage. Given the state of the house on arrival, this left the feeling that we were going to get blamed for pre existing breakages and stains!

A nice property in a great location. Communication has been excellent. The only disappointment was with the cleaning team who over reacted to a couple of wet patches on the carpet when we vacated the property. We cleared everything up on leaving and this included wiping a dirty footprint mark on one of the carpets which resulted from treading in some loose moss from the front doorstep. Also there was a broken slat under one of the beds which was not picked up from the pre ious letting and was allocated incorrectly to our booking. Lesson learnt - check these things out and take photos of conditions on arrival and report things asap. Otherwise all great.

The weekend was great, the accommodation was perfect for our large family. It was clean, really well presented and there were plenty of essentials at the property making the stay more comfortable. The parking was a bit of a struggle, the street is really narrow so if you have multiple cars or large ones, it may be easier to park on the road or in one of the nearby car parks suggested.

Fantastic house with all the amenities you could ask for. It was perfectly set out for our large family too with a good selection of toys for kids of all ages. A short walk to Whitby centre where you can enjoy good food and the beach as well as other tourist attractions and arcades. Also a short drive to sandsend which is our favourite beach ♥️ We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking again xx

We had a wonderful stay at The Alby. The whole house is furnished so well and feels very homely and cosy. The outdoor space was great to sit out and enjoy breakfast and having the two parking spaces were very helpful. It’s a short walk into the town centre of Whitby from the house. Would definitely recommend!
