The cottage was really lovely. Everything we needed. It was restored, well decorated and tastefully modernised where possible. We ate in most nights and found the kitchen to be well appointed. We were warm and the location was in a lovely country lane. We soon realised, after the lane was blocked by builders, that there was another way out and that a short walk
took us down to the lake where
we could enjoy a morning coffee.

We struggled a bit with the shower regulators, especially in the bathroom upstairs. Couldn’t get the hand held device to stay on nor could we open the back door. We had to purchase a bucket for the fire ashes and we did our best
with the recycling. Other than
those things, we loved the
cottage.

A beautiful cottage with gorgeous views. Lovely & peaceful but really close to the lake.
We stayed for a wedding nearby so didn’t get to explore that much but would definitely return.
The only negative was the parking which was very tight !

Housekeeping was very poor and affected our stay.
No toiletries, no laundry detergent, minimal toilet paper and kitchen towel. Requested more but was told to get our own! Spent part of our holiday sourcing toilet paper as no local shops nearby. Very disappointing.
Dirty towels from previous guest in a bedroom drawer.
Not particularly clean.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and everything as described. It was easy to access and had plenty of space for us all. Kitchen was well equipped.
Perfect location for what we wanted to do and a lovely walk to fell foot national trust park

Closness to the lake..

a little more descriptive help with finding the actual location
Local Sevices Book on site
Information on possible walk to village if any
The main road is not suitible for walking cars are driving too quickly
Not the propertys fault but we had road works late at night which meant we had to divert to get home

We had a brilliant time in the Lake District and the cottage was ideally located for the activities we had planned. It was a haven to come back to each evening. It is very cozy and comfortable yet modern and functional with plenty of space for a group of 5-6.
It would be great to mention to visitors to bring their own hand soap, and basic kitchen ingredients such as salt, pepper and cooking oil. We had read this on a different review so planned ahead, but make it more obvious in your cottage info.
We would definitely return to the Lakes and the cottage again!

The setting was just what we’d hoped it would be. Beautiful scenery, charming architecture. We felt we really had the experience we’d hoped for. We left a day early and I had hoped the 3 day minimum would be waived. You may want to consider the option of offering a discounted rate if the stay is shorter than 3 days. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay!

We enjoyed a few days at the start of January and the cottage and location didn’t disappoint. We were a party of six, myself my husband, our three boys (20,18 and 13) plus a partner and the property provided more than enough living and sleeping space with two bathrooms so everyone had space for privacy yet it was cozy enough to sit down and enjoy a film in the evening. We went down to the Swan Inn for a meal one night and there is a small supermarket in the service station nearby but that’s as much as we found by way of local amenities, although easy drives to bigger towns.
As stated in the guide we received, parking at the property was a bit tight - we managed ok with a Qashquai but just something to be aware of.
So i wouldn’t recommend arriving in a big car, bring some essentials shopping wise but other than that a stylish, comfortable property that won’t disappoint - the snow was a cherry on top of a great stay

Great place to stay. Because of bad weather we were restricted to physical activities but overall it a great place to stay. Parking for two cars fine.

The place was nice - 4/5, nice location and good appliances.
The negatives are almost all for Host & Stay - they provide almost no basic supplies e.g. bin bags, hand soap, dishwashing tablets, liquid, 4 rolls of toilet paper for 6 ppl 4 nights, oil, handtowels. The place was not very clean. There is no firewood, admittedly a grey area for being included, but no mention of this in the listing. An accurate listing would have saved issues.
The place was very cold and took a day of back and forth to resolve the heating and hot water, it is not an easy system. The one positive is that Host & Stay are responsive, if empty platitudes are your thing.
We checked in on Christmas Eve when few shops are open, so all in all it was a disappointing experience, especially when easily and cheaply resolved by having more basic supplies and an accurate listing. To add insult to injury we found a hidden key on checkout that opened a cupboard full of supplies. No mention of this from H&S in many msgs.

we had a problem with the washing machine plumbing was blocked, we reported it and was being fixed the next day unfortunately we were leaving that day, would still book and stay there again great location and a fair price for the property

Overall it was good but there were hidden costs that we have never had to pay before through Airbnb (stated in description but not easily seen).
The shower upstairs didn't work and downstairs had very poor pressure.
No wifi, although the house has it which is frustrating, to say the least, when signal is poor.
The drive can squeeze 2 cars + 3rd small one sideways

Incredible property, 10 minute walk from "Foot Fell" on Lake Windermere. The Property is in a great central location for visiting all the ways of a compass, with shops that are 12 minute drive away and a 24 hour fuel station 5 minutes away. House is beautifully decorated and well maintained. I would suggest that if you own a larger vehicle, that the driveway would only fit the one car on it, as the beautiful surroundings do hamper reversing onto the drive with another car on the drive. But this just adds to the charm of the property. we all really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this property again! 5 stars

The host was unresponsive and very unhelpful. One of the worst I have dealt with. The house itself was great, nice and clean.
I would not stay again due to the lack of communication.

The rental property provided excellent value for our group of five. The views were stunning, and the house was exceptionally clean and aesthetically pleasing. While I noticed a previous comment mentioning a sense of spiritual presence, I did not experience any unusual or unsettling feelings during our stay.

We had a really good experience at this place. So close to the bottom of Winderemere lake. Very private.
Parking space available right next to the property (Just abouts fitted our two SUVs so decent size). Road on approach to property is a bit narrow so be careful and try to drive there before dark.
Guide book under the living room table (next to the entrance) was handy in addition to the digital guide book.
WiFi available at good speeds all around the house.
House (including bathrooms and kitchen) are really clean.
Heating and hot water controls are easy to use.
Ground floor is a mix of wooden and stoned floors. All bedrooms on first floor (with wooden flooring).
Washing machine, dryer & ironing stand available.
Plenty kitchenware in the cabinets. Electric hob.
Only ask could be to improve the water pressure in the bathrooms. Also, a curtain around the tub in the bathroom upstairs would avoid any water spillage.

The view was nice

The house was freezing cold on arrival, on top of that, we had to figure out to work with a device located in the kitchen to turn on the heating that was some how changing all the time, we were setting it at a value and after 1 h or so was lower than we set...not sure if the owner itself could access it and change it...the same thing happened with the hot water when wanted to wash the children , the water went hot for a while and then was cold...we could not wash them like this..not to mention that we could not have a wash for ourselfs because of that..
Also, unable to use the wifi in the house, on the guidebook online was not available...i mean was mentioned about the passwoed but the password was not there..we tried to get to the router and tried the number there but still not worked so we gave up..
In the kitchen on arrivel we found a sink bowl on the flor as apparantely was a leak somewere nut lukily it did not rain so we were ok from this point of view.
The house well equiped in the kitchen , we had clean towels and the beds were clean, the view was nice and was quiet all around..
We only spend 2 nights there , the house seems to be a terrace house built in 1865 and honestly, i felt some energies in the house, my sister said the same!
