We had a lovely stay over New Year at the cottage at 4 Princess Place. Wonderfully located close to all amenities and attractions of Whitby. A nice, clean, decently equipped property with ample shared space in the kitchen and lounge. Good to see that the property management have listened to previous guest feedback, as dishwasher tablets, spare toilet paper, tea, coffee and biscuits were provided. All very welcome. Parking can be a challenge for sure, as other occupants of the cottages on the same row ignore the reserved space sign. The only major gripe was that some kind soul of a previous guest had taken a shine to the bath plug and taken it as a memento of their stay, so we couldn’t use the bath on Day 1. Reporting this via the Airbnb chat was a pointless and annoying exchange with a polite, but ultimately unhelpful, chatbot. We ended up taking time to go and buy a replacement ourselves. With hindsight we should have phoned the owners ourselves (numbers are in the house manual).

Central location in Whitby. Parking outside, we had 2 cars with no issues getting a space. Th house was clean and homely. The bedrooms were all large and the space was great for us (4 adults, 2 kids). The house was pet friendly which was fantastic for us.

Good location, for future guests take all soap, washing up liquid kitchen roll, tinfoil, salt and pepper and all basics you need including a hairdryer. The house and location are good. there is parking for 1 car but you can park close on the road below. the Bagdale Hall is a gem at the end of the road.

I’ve stayed in a lot of AirBnb’s and this is probably one of my worst experiences. The house was nice, and very spacious but the beds were very cheap and extremely uncomfortable, the TV didn’t work and the host didn’t correct this whilst we stayed (we reported it). The grill didn’t work, the air fryer was left in a disgusting state. There was only just enough toilet paper for our stay, other than a bit of hand wash there were no toiletries, and parking wars was soon underway with the other no.4 (an adjoining annex) who also felt entitled to park right outside the house in what was a very tight gravel road.

Lovely house, nice large rooms. In a quiet area but only a short walk into Whitby and a gorgeous hotel bar, only a minutrs walk away. Free parking outside was not a problem for us and we had two cars. Only negatives were one toilet was not working, which was unfortunate, and only one toilet roll provided for a three night stay and no dishwasher tablets. Would definatley stay again though.

Nice place to stay with large living room, kitchen and bedrooms, huge bathroom upstairs. We had a small issue during arrival that required a phone call to the hosts who immediately sorted our problem with no fuss. The home is walkable to everywhere in Whitby, and only a couple of minutes walk from the nearest supermarket and train station. Parking the car was free but a little bit narrow especially if you have a larger car.

We booked this property at last minute for a birthday trip for my 70 year old mum. The location was perfect for anyone visiting Whitby. It was a matter of minutes in walking distance to the town. There is a co op a few minutes walk away for any amenities. The parking situation was first come first served for approx 4 cars in front of the property. We were lucky and managed to get a space each of the 4 days we were there. We had 2 cars and parked the other one in a very nearby car park which was £12 a day. The property itself was very beautifully laid out and very spacious. Massive beds! The downsides were that there were no dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid or tea towels so we went out and bought our own to make sure the property was left clean. We did try to communicate to the host about this but felt we were getting AI generated responses back and the issue was never resolved. The larder also smelt like damp which occasionally wafted into the rooms downstairs. 8/10 :)

Just got back from our stay. I will be booking this again. Fantastic place very spacious. Great location. Fab hotel bar 2mins walk. My parents are elderly and rely on mobility scooters they easily got around. Our dog loved it, we loved it. Charlie the host was excellent.

Great location, could easily walk to all Whitby attractions and place was as advertised but we do not believe the property had been cleaned when we arrived (dog hair all over carpet, bathrooms not clean ect.) and basic amenities (toilet roll, bin bags in bins, washing up sponges) where missing. We reported this shortly after check in and someone did come and clean the next day while we were out but the place fell short of our expectations due to this.

This is a lovely place with a central location, we were lucky enough to get free parking which is rare for somewhere so close to the centre of Whitby. The room sizes are good ideal for families or 3 separate couple's and the kitchen was well equipped if you did want to cook with a full sized fridge/freezer,

This property had character, with large rooms, all the necessary amenities you needed. The location is great for exploring whitby on foot. Lots of room for up to 6 people. Just be aware it is pet friendly and unfortunately there was a strong pet odour in the living room. Also there were no dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid provided during our stay even though that was pointed out to the host upon check in. We would recommend the property and would stay there again if visiting whitby.

Really good location right near the centre of Whitby and 10mins walk from the beach, but on a quiet tucked away road. We were able to park right outside which was great. The bedrooms were good sizes with comfortable beds. The house had a damp musty smell and the kitchen floor and carpets were really dirty which is a shame given how much the cleaning feels was, and there was not enough toilet paper provided, or any additional bin bags. Would also expect a better stocked kitchen with simple things like oil, salt, pepper, foil and washing up liquid, so those things just let it down slightly!

The house is perfectly situated. You can park right outside and it's a little over 5 minutes walk into town. The house was clean, neat and tidy. The information you get sent before you travel is very informative and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Princess place. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Whitby whilst being down a quiet private road. We lived being able to walk into town and back to the house through out the day. The house has lots of space with very large rooms throughout. Everywhere was clean and very minimal. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay, the house was very close to the town centre and all the amenities. The house had good rooms and comfortable beds. Only minor gripe was dust or powder all over the drawers in the bathroom on the top floor and the same powder on the carpet in the same room, biscuit wrapping on landing on middle floor that must have been dropped and missed. Everything else was vary clean, wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Good helpful communication from the host

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful Airbnb in Whitby. There were six of us in the family, and the space was perfect – spotlessly clean, tastefully designed, and very comfortable throughout. The host had excellent communication from the start, with clear and helpful instructions that made everything easy. The location couldn’t be better – right in the centre of Whitby, yet in a lovely quiet area where we all slept soundly in the super comfy beds. We didn’t need to use the car at all as everything was within walking distance. It really felt like a home away from home. We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Whitby and are already looking forward to returning in the future.

We had a lovely time in Princess Place for my Dad’s 60th birthday weekend. Whitby is a beautiful town with plenty to do locally and the opportunity to explore a bit further afield. Princess Place is located really centrally, within walking distance of the main attractions and amenities but still easily accessible by car (and with parking outside on a first come basis). The house itself is spacious and homely and provided the perfect base for a weekend of exploring and celebrating. Thank you for being great hosts!

We had a great stay at Princess Cottage, we had everything we needed. We were a group of six and there was plenty of space, we were warm and comfortable. The beds were very comfy and the area is very quiet at night. There is a large fridge freezer and plenty of space for hanging up coats and storing muddy boots. The kitchen is well stocked with glasses, mugs etc, the air fryer was a nice extra. Recommend bringing hand soap for the bathrooms, but there was washing up liquid in the kitchen. The log burner is lovely, you just need to bring some logs and kindling as none are provided. Parking outside wasn’t possible on this occasion due to neighbours parking in the allocated space. This wasn’t an issue for us, there is lots of parking nearby and it’s easy to park for a short time on the road to unload/ load. What a great location, you are so close to everything here. We would definitely recommend and return. Dale and Charlie answered any queries quickly, many thanks from us all.

Great location and accommodation. We spent a lot of time out exploring, but this was a great base for our visit. 3 lovely big double rooms (one can be converted to a twin) and 2 bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen and a TV with Netflix etc for rainy days and early lazy nights after all that exploring. The location is just on the quiet edge of Whitby, but only a 5 mins walk to the pubs, supermarket, shops, takeaways, bus station and restaurants. The only negative was after a 3hr drive I had to go out and get milk and tea bags for a cuppa. I've suggested to the host that a few tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk cartons would be a welcome sight on arrival - and they are taking this onboard. 👍

The house did look like the photos but it was lacking finishing touches & didn’t feel homely. There was a noticeable damp smell downstairs. Location was excellent, couldn’t ask for better, everything walkable. Nothing was left for you such as washing up liquid, hand soap, extra bin bags etc so that was a bit disappointing. No shower in the en suite so essentially there is 1 shower between 6 people & the bed is 2 singles pushed together The main thing we were surprised at was the annex flat attached to the home - we didn’t think this was mentioned? Someone was in it on our last night and we could hear doors banging/smell cigarette smoke. Don’t book this place for the parking as it was terrible. There isn’t on street parking as suggested by other reviewers close by. We struggled the whole week with other people parking in the allocated spaces. Overall we had a good week but wouldn’t book this place again sadly :( don’t normally like to write negative reviews but felt disappointed

Lovely place, within an easy walk to the town centre. Very clean and spacious for all 6 guests. Expect to find other on road parking (easy enough) or walk down to the train station parking, only £10 for 24 hours. The spaces outside were occupied for the two days we were there, but there are plenty of other options a short walk away.

On the plus side the accommodation is in a very central location and fairly well appointed. However there were a quite a few negatives for us. As we have two young children, we primarily picked this accommodation because it was supposed to have a washer and drier. Unfortunately it had neither. The parking was also extremely limited, was unavailable the entire stay and the closest alternative parking was 10 minutes walk away. The place could also use a good dust and there was a smell of damp in the kitchen. We loved Whitby and will definitely go back but wouldn't stay at this accommodation.

Living room carpet was wet and needed hoovering but no hoover available. Upstairs bedroom floor was dirty and my nephew got a dirty top. The outside bin was full so couldn’t dispose of rubbish. The house smelt like cigarettes and there were fag ends in the plant pot by the front door. Shower is broken, can’t adjust height. Emailed about a bag we left (3times) and am yet to find out if it has been found. Someone not connected to the property parks outside the house so you can’t. Had to pay for parking 10 min walk away. However, ideal location, and spacious living room and bedrooms.

We had a fantastic stay at this house. we're a family if 5 including an 8 month baby and 2 teenagers and we had everything we needed and plenty of space. Everything was clean and tidy and the instructions from the host were really clear. The location was perfect, in short walking distance of the harbour and amenities including a large co-op. Despite other reviews, we found it really easily and whilst parking directly outside wasn't possible, we got parked just round the corner with no problem.

Overall, not impressed. Brill location, clean facilities, beautiful house, but the following managed to annoy all 6 of us: No heating on upon arrival, very cold, temp at 15 degrees. So we turned it on, only to find it didn’t work as all radiator valves were also off/set to 0. Log burner didn’t come with prodding tools as a basic, never mind matches, newspaper, kindling, or logs. Cleaners came a day early, no problem but they refused to accept we had it booked for another day. They rudely proceeded to tell us to leave and even got their manager on the phone who was telling us the same. Had to prove our booking by showing them the email confirmation. No dishcloth, sponge, oil, salt or pepper - the basics. The following are just annoyances: Robotic response from admin team, new person each message. Gas oven - not electric or fan, and would often go out mid-cooking. Plug socket locations in bedrooms, can’t use phone in bed, need extension lead or long cable if desired.

Lovely place, situated close to the centre. It was clean, nicely decorated and the rooms were great. It wasn’t as picturesque as some parts of Whitby & only got parked outside the property for one of our days. The tv didn’t work which was disappointing when the weather was dreadful & we spent more time indoors than anticipated. However, the maintenance team came out to sort it fairly quickly once reported which was a relief!

This cottage was beautiful and in an excellent location. The rooms are large and bright and the living room and kitchen perfect for family’s. Two bathrooms is also really handy if there are quite a few guests. There is enough parking for two cars. The 25 pound damage deposit is a little bit annoying as the property is already quite expensive but you just have to factor this in when booking.

Also, there was no note about the area behind the kitchen being accessed by other people, quite a shock when I was on my own to see someone arrive in the house- if they are linked it should maybe be mentioned. Me and five of my friends had a lovely stay here. The location was perfect to get to all of Whitby’s attractions and the house was spotless. All of the bedrooms were a good size and we even had some milk waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. The hosts were really helpful, always getting back to us quickly and were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody visiting Whitby!

Great house in the centre on Whitby. We stayed with our two children and small dog and the house had loads of space for all of us and everything needed to make you feel at hone. The centre is a couple of minutes away with all its small shops, cafes, etc and quite a lot was open. we loved walking along the beach to Sandsend for lunch. Make sure you check closing times if you want to eat out as a few places stop serving early out of season.
