The location was perfect. Near to the sea front, restaurants,Pubs and shops. The apartment was spacious and had all mod cons for a great self-catering experience. The shower was exceptional, heating easily controlled and sitting room area comfortable and relaxing.

Unlike most holiday lets, there were no instructions about how to use the cooker, microwave or heating. I had to contact the help line for that. Also the living room was nothing like the illustration on the web-site. Disappointing.

Good location. Free onsite parking. A few tea, coffee and sugar sachets. Up to date tv. Nice ornaments and occasional furniture. Bed linen was nice.

Very shabby dirty settee, had to cover with own blanket to sit on it. Disgusting very mouldy shower tray. Toilet roll holder hanging on by cable clip so unusable. Dirty oven. Blinds very dusty. Generally in need of a very good clean. Uncomfortable lumpy bed. Only two towels and no tea towel. One toilet roll. Attached some photos, didn't take any of lobby or outside so added two more of bathroom.

Lovely ground floor apartment one street back from the front. Wood floors throughout. Comfortable bed with cotton bedding.
All usual appliances in kitchen including a freezer and washer. Good TV. Nice shower.
Would definitely stay again snd will recommend to my friends.

Walls in the sitting room snd bathroom were marked but easily sorted with the right cleaning materials.. Lots of cobwebs although it is spider season!
No tin opener.
Shower needs either a deep clean or sealant replacing as it is black at the bottom. Sofa not brilliant and not the one as advertised.
Had to clean the oven shelf before I could use it.
Would have given the apartment a 10 were it not for these minor points.

It was dirty, particularly the bathroom. There was only 1 bath towel each. No hand towels. We spent £25 at the local supermarket on cleaning products and towels etc.

Excellent location in the heart of Saltburn-By-The-Sea

Only a single toilet roll left despite description plural
Heater in bathroom defective
Various light bulbs defective
Bathroom shower cubicle mouldy
No towel or cleaning products in property.
This is the first property, over many years, that there were no cleaning products, I deal with property rentals and if you want them kept clean by short stayers at least leave the basics.
Whoever is responsible for the maintenance/cleaning of the property need’s reviewing.
Host & Stay charged an administration charge of £10 for handling the £250 deposit. This was refunded by Booking.com as clearly shown on contract agreement that there were NO additional charges, a bit of a scam by Host & Stay.

The bed was really comfy, the apartment was a good size and rooms arranged well. The location was spot on. I was worried that noise from the pub next door would be too much but once inside a didn’t hear a thing.

Cleanliness of the property could have been better eg. cobwebs everywhere, brown stain behind the toilet roll.
Property needs a refresh, stains on rug, shower tray awfully scummy sealant inside and out.
What really affected me though was the bright light coming in through the bedroom window. I was woken up at 5 every morning.

Great location and private parking a massive plus.
Only downside you need to bring your own kitchen cleaning stuff (I.e. Hand soap, dish soap and sponges) as these are not provided which was a little surprising. Otherwise good

The entrance hall smelt constantly of cigarettes. The heated towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work . The sofa was exceptionally shabby. Not a drop of washing up liquid to clean up after eating. That said . It did the job

The location was excellent and it was warm.

The settee and rug were filthy and it made the rest of the place feel really dirty. The crockery and glasses all needed cleaning too. There were plenty of dishwasher tablets but weirdly no dishwasher!!!

The company has a stealth way of taking money from you too. You either take a one off insurance to cover breakages or you pay a deposit and get CHARGED £10 for them to return YOUR money. This cannot be right. You message them about all of the above and there is no response.

Smoke alarm and wires also hanging out too.

They do not provide you with the check in details before you pay the above and even when you do pay they do not promptly send you details making you wait and call them AGAIN.

Great little apartment central for both beach, shops and restaurants. Lovely to know you have a parking space to return to after a trip out. Night times were peaceful even with the great traditional pub which is very handy right behind the apartment’s car park.
Bed incredibly comfortable but sofa could do with an upgrade - it wasn’t the one in the picture!
Saltburn is a gem of a place well worth a visit!

Nice cosy flat, a two minute walk to the lovely beach, nice restaurants and a supermarket.
Very comfortable, apart from the tired sofa - not the sofa shown in the photo. After reading previous reviews it would appear that other guests have made the same comment. I probably would not have booked if I’d seen the sofa that is actually in the flat not on the photos. If you stay make sure you know how to use Netflix apps etc. It would be good if you provided a small amount of washing up liquid with cloths etc. crockery and cutlery not the cleanest, and needed washing before use. Kitchen well equipped.
£250 deposit was taken at least 2 weeks prior to staying - not refunded until 10 days after returning keys. Bit cheeky!!
On the whole a nice flat in a great location, just a few niggles - loved Saltburn!

The apartment has everything you need for a multi-day stay. The private parking is very handy. Location is great, close to beach, public transport and the supermarket. The heating works really well.

I've stayed here before and everything was great but this time the bedroom had a really pungent smell. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from but all the bedding reeked of it and made it hard to sleep.

The location was good, just a stone's throw from where we wanted to be.

The shower cubicle was very dirty, black mould and gunge in the bottom of it. Under the bed was really dusty. Although there was a washing machine, there was nowhere to hang the wet clothes. The sofa in the front room is nothing like in the picture, it was so uncomfortable, not good when you need to sit upright after having a stomach operation, the rug was filthy. The deposit money is an absolute disgrace, they take £10 or you could pay a £25 waiver with no deposit, after you have paid for the room.

This is a wonderful accommodation. It was clean and tidy and matched the description as well as the photographs. The location is beautiful in the town of Saltburn with plenty of places to eat and drink as well as little boutique shops. It is in a prime location to explore Whitby and the north Yorkshire moors. It is ideal for walks along the Cleveland way.

Great location, easy access with keys in key box. Nice touch to find tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided to give you a start on arrival. In fact all essentials were covered that you normally have to buy such as wash liquid, cloths and tea towel in the kitchen and loo rolls and wash products in the bathroom. Impressed with how well kitchen stocked with crockery, glasses, knives etc although used very little since flat is in such close proximity to town and beach and choice of cafes and restaurants. Also handy to have own allocated private parking space so not reliant on on-street parking
although there was always spaces available. Bed very comfortable. Sofa large and inviting (different to the one in the photo)

Shower doors not operating properly, come off runners and mould around runners ( but shower works fine), shame really since this let down a flat which was otherwise great

We took the dog for 3 nights and absolutely loved the apartment. Ground floor so not too tricky to keep taking the dog out for business too. Super location 5 mins to the beach down plenty of steps and there are loads of dog friendly cafes/bars etc within a really short walking distance. The information sent through have so much good information about beaches/food/bars to go to with loads of cool dog friendly places too all over the coast which were super helpful. We would definitely look to go back and highly recommend to others. Loved our stay!

We arrived early evening, exiting the car we were greeted with an intensely loud crowd of drinkers from the pub directly behind. Inside the apartment you could not have the window open at night due to the level noise in the evenings- it was hot. Did not sleep well. This was the weekend though, Sunday evening was less crowd more individuals shouting till after 12.
The apartment has everything you need. It was comfortable and relatively clean - we arrived to a puddle of what can only be described as bacon fat all over the kitchen floor which we had to clean up and it subsequently left a sticky residue and was just gross. The bathroom light was not working. Both these issues were raised and the light was fixed the day after I contacted the company twice.
The location is fabulous.
The apartment is comfortable and decorated very well.
Overall the noise from the pub was awful and we came away very tired had I known about the pub directly behind I would not of booked.

This is a really nice apartment and with private parking, making it a perfect location in Saltburn. Close to the promenade and numerous restaurants, it is very well fitted out, comfortable with an exceptional bed and very quiet. Easy access too. Had a couple of very minor issues which were acknowledged with speed from the host. Only downside of Saltburn which we were aware of anyway is that it is very hilly and therefore not ideal for some. There is a cliff lift close to the apartmentto get visitors down to the beach. I can highly recommend both the apartment and the town.

Scrap and rubbish in the yard.
On leaving another tenant was having an heated argument in the communal door area really embarrassing.

Great locaton! perfect for your stay. Close to everything. Great little pub around the back of the car park too. My only little critic is that the sofa on the picture isn't the same, why does that matter you may ask. Because the one on the photos looks very modern and inviting, the one in there is a 3 seated that's been sat on that much it has no cushioning left, and looks dingy. Therefore didn't sit and watch TV or anythig but other than that, the whole place was great. it doesn't advertise and iron and we msged and ask about an iron to be told no, so we took one but don't worry if you forget cause the hosts have put one in the wardrobe- BONUS. Enjoy, well worth a visit.

De locatie

Vooraf kreeg ik een waslijst aan formuleren om in te vullen. Ik dacht dat ik alles juist had ingevuld ( ik heb ook nog een bericht gestuurd en gezegd dat als er meer informatie nodig was, ik het graag hoorde).
Toen we arriveerden had ik nog steeds geen code om het appartement binnen te komen.
Gebeld, en toen bleek dat ik iets was vergeten in te vullen waardoor ik geen toegangscode kreeg.
Alsnog gedaan, en tot drie keer toe weet moeten bellen om de code via de mail te krijgen.
Volgens hun was mijn mail adres onjuist, alle andere mail kwam wel aan...

Kortom, veel toestanden waar je niet op zit te wachten na een lange reis.

In veel reviews staan klachten over o.a. de bank en de kussens, elke keer zeggen ze dat ze het doorgeven. Ruim een jaar later zijn er nog steeds dezelfde hopeloze kussens en bank.

Seating was poor. Settee in lounge very uncomfortable. Seats in kitchen uncomfortable. TV difficult to use. No guides/notes in flat on places to go/maps etc. Wifi not working on entry. After several phone calls still not working, eventually got it going myself. There is a pub to the rear of the property which is noisy, particularly at closing time.

The apartment had everything you needed for a multi day stay. It is very close to the beach, the train station, buses and supermarket. It was quiet most of the time.

Because it was on the ground floor and the bedroom and kitchen look into the rear carpark, I didn't feel like I could leave the windows open for security reasons which made it quite stuffy at night during summer. I think property could benefit from air-conditioning in the bedroom. I also kept the blinds closed whenever I was in for privacy. There is also a pub behind the building which seems to quieten down around midnight. None of these affected my stay other than I was a little too warm at night. Pillows were a bit weird, very thin, I had to use 3 of them to get a normal pillow height. I also found the bed not so comfortable as a side sleeper.

Location is excellent being just a few steps from the town centre and promenade. The accommodation was very clean and spacious, with good facilities.

The sofa in the living room is looking a bit tired, and the beds were not as firm as we would have liked, but these did not spoil our stay.

great location, adequate for a weekend break

The bedroom definitely needs black out curtains. The wooden slats do not darken the room at all and we were woken up around 5am every morning with the light streaming in. The pillows are of poor quality and flat, and need replacing.

Sofa is well past its best, saggy and discoloured but we didn’t spend much time in
the apartment overall.

The hob isn’t the easiest we’ve experienced!! We looked up the instructions on the internet but still it didn’t behave as expected. Easy to understand Instructions could be left in a booklet. The tap in the bathroom is too tall for the basin. Water splashes everywhere and needs wiping up every time the tap is used.

We had a very comfortable stay in Saltburn by the sea. The apartment was spacious and comfortable and in a brilliant location. Very close to the beach and to the local shops. It was very easy to find. Loved that we could bring Reggie, our dog, and was very impressed with the online guidebook and local recommendations - especially noting which ones were dog friendly was really helpful. I’d highly recommend no 23 for a pizza! Overall a lovely stay and we would come back again.

Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay! It was extremely clean - couldn’t find any faults at all. There was plenty of kitchen appliances, utensils, plates, cleaning products etc, all stocked up like your standard home. Bed was comfy, so was the sofa, huge tv & little tubes of shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom:)It was literally a 3-5 minute walk to anywhere, would love to stay again!

Only thing didn’t like was asking you to give ID after booking. I queried it and you don’t need to do it. It is a Host and Stay thing rather than the property itself but I queried it and you don’t have to give ID.

lovely stay. Right next to the beach front and close to everything in town. We got a really nice takeaway from the Indian restaurant on the corner of the street. Got lucky with the timing of our stay as dogs were only allowed on a small section of the beach after May 1st till September. We had a good sleep but there was a pub round the back that was kind of loud but it didn't disrupt our sleep and we were visiting on a bank holiday weekend so it probably isn't that loud normally. Overall a really nice stay

We thought location was ok. Easy to get to park,promanade and shops although the funicular was not in operation.

The bathroom spoilt the apartment eg .. toilet seat was very loose,the shower unit looked poor condition with one of the door off it's runners(which I put back on) and the basin tap was loose but we managed.I would give 10/10 for the other 3 rooms but only 3/10 for bathroom.

Stop looking just book it.
After 16 months of me and my wife not being able to get away for a weekend we booked Amber Shores for 2 nights.
We wanted quiet, but lovely walks but this place really is a true gem.
We are from Doncaster and a month ago after spending 1 day in Sandsend we drove up to have a sneaky look and must admit was disappointed.
We couldn’t have been anymore mistaken.
The flat is very well catered for, modern and very very clean.
To be honest for 2 people it’s huge, and the living room has a massive sofa with a big tv.
Turn right It’s 100 yards to the sea front which boasts on of the longest beeches I have seen and a beautiful walk.
Turn left and 100 yards there are a row of wine bars and restaurants..

We 100% will book it again but one bit of advice is book Seaviews restaurant early it’s book well up.

Amber Shores is in a great location; seconds away from the beach, a Sainsbury’s within a few minutes walk and easy to join the Cleveland Way and other walks.
There are lots of bars and cafes nearby if you want to go out, but the apartment is comfortable to just hang out.
The apartment is well equipped with quality items.
I’d recommend staying here.

Excellent property close to the beach and all amenities. Very clean with everything you need for a short break. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent location to enjoy the seafront and also the towns restaurants and bars. But quiet, as far enough away from people noise! Even with the pub just around the back. Perfect for what we wanted.

Lovely flat a stone's throw from the seafront. Well decorated with everything you need and sparkling clean too! We really appreciated the free tea/coffee and pint of milk provided on arrival :)

Clean and very comfortable bed and sofa! Well equipped kitchen. Minutes from the beach and great walks. Good communication, we had a small issue but it was resolved to our satisfaction. Would definitely return here

Great place. Smooth simple check in to a perfectly located apartment. Exactly what we wanted. Small shower issue on second day - resolved swiftly by the owners, couldn't fault them. A cozy bolt hole that we will use again.

We only stayed for 2 nights, but were impressed with the apartment. It was clean, modern and had everything we wanted. On the ground floor and with private off-road parking it was ideal. It was close to a supermarket so that we could get supplies and cafes and restaurants were also within easy walking distance, although with the present situation, it was all al fresco! Good job the weather was wonderful!
There were some wonderful walks along the coastal path and the beach was beautiful, even if the water was cold!! Unfortunately, the funicular down to the beach was closed as were many of the shops and restaurants on the pier (Covid related of course) but I am sure later in the year, this will make beach access much easier. It's a steep walk or lots of steps at the moment!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment without hesitation!
