The space
Abbey View is located in the centre of the bustling seaside town of Whitby. The Apartment has a lovely coastal character, with a cool and calming colour palette.Abbey View has an open plan kitchen and living area. With a comfortable light blue sofa and a TV, it’s the perfect place to relax on an evening.
If you like to eat at home during your stay, the fully equipped kitchen means you can explore the local area and independents to gather local produce and ingredients, to retreat home and prepare a home cooked meal.
The small dining area means you can enjoy meals in the comfort of the apartment during your stay.
Head to the bedroom and you’ll find a spacious room with classic seaside styling. There is a double bed with premium bedding to ensure you have a blissful night's sleep. Bedside tables and lamps complete the space.
A double sofa bed is also available at Abbey View which can be made up upon request. This will increase the occupancy to four.
The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower, WC and wash basin.

The view of the Abbey through the back window
Noisy location being close to pub and people passing by it felt they were in the room with you.
Fridge and Wi Fi didn't work, toilet macerator very noisy, didn't empty shower quickly enough risk of flooding also when it was operating the bed side table lamp and living room table lamp would flash on and off suggest electrical fault also the socket in the living room is faulty, stair access doesn't comply with building regulations they should have a continuous handrail up them very dangerous, documentation gas,electic and others need updating, the general condition of the property holes in the walls, holes around the windows need filling in and then the whole property needs repainting as the walls and gloss work are very grubby

The location was great, a few minutes walk down to the harbour and town.
The flat was up 2 flights of dark, damp smelling stairs with no hand rails.
There were 3 bags of used bedding and towels on the stairwell which never got moved the whole time we were there.
The flat was not cleaned properly on arrival, still rubbish in the bin, toothpaste in the sink and on the toilet cistern. Also old toothpaste residue in the bottom of the glass toothbrush holder. We were left with about 5 squares of toilet roll, luckily I had taken my own anyway so didn't have to buy any immediately.
We found dirty cutlery inside the oven and on the 2nd night had water leaking through the kitchen ceiling all over the floor from the flat above. There were already water stains on the ceiling so this has happened before. There was a dirty tea towel drying on the radiator in the kitchen which I'm presuming was used by the previous visitor.
Also the internet provided was saying password was incorrect when trying to connect.
