What could be a lovely house, let down by the company who runs it. I was a bit torn on this review and what to rate it, as the house itself it’s nice (if in need of sprucing up), however we felt extremely let down by the host and communication. An hour after we arrived at the properly (in the evening) we realised there was no travel cot for my 10m son to sleep in, despite this being included in the amenities and confirmed via chat this would be included. I messaged and called immediately, and didn’t receive a response until after midnight. We were then told (after more than 24 hours) a cot was not included as per the maintenance company. It was only after pushing this was delivered after two days. The house needs a deep clean (lots of dog hairs) and the garden needs maintenance. There also needs to be a warning about the hot tap. This is a lovely location, but avoid if you have a small child.

Lovely clean accommodation. Fully stocked kitchen with everything f needed to cook a meal. Garden area was nice but shame it was too wet to use. Only critique is whist two cars can fit on. Drive. Only one can exit with ease. As it’s narrow near the drive entrance. I’d advise parking second car in the road which is lovely and quiet

Good location. Lawn needs cutting and dog poo needs clearing up. Had some issues with appliances. Washing machine and toaster. Good walking along the coastal path. Good bus service to Whitby and Staithes. Lovely pub across the road serving excellent food. Also pub in Ellerby serves great food. Comfortable beds, large bath with plenty of hot water. Shower not very hot and sprays water through the gap and wets the floor. Grill and pan needs a thorough deep clean.

This is a lovely, comfortable house for a stay in Runswick Bay. An issue with the boiler one evening was resolved the next morning by the hosts. Overall a fantastic stay, we'll definitely return.

No welcome or info pack which is fine but some people rely on a pint of milk/area info /maps. Lovely kitchen diner but not a sharp knife in the house. Very warm and cosy. Underfloor heating in bathroom a bonus. But there’s no blind/curtains which is a bit weird!! Unfortunately the lighting in the living room is poor. Readers may need to sit elsewhere! Upstairs a super new bathroom lovely fluffy towels and complementary toiletries. Very comfy beds. Of course the area is perfect. A 5 min ramble down to the beach and 10 mins back! 20 min walk to Hinderwell or regular bus. Lots of walks. Delightful cafe at beach. Beach itself has to be one of the best around if not in Yorkshire

The Moorings offers comfortable 2 bed accommodation, and is really well set up for families with dogs - practical flooring downstairs and a great enclosed garden. It's well situated at the top of Runswick Bay, tho a very steep hill down (and back) from the beach! You can tell though that its managed by an agency and not an individual owner, and I don't think the agency is giving the cleaner enough time to do a thorough job .. the basics were in place, clean linen, a great bathroom, hoovered floors and mostly clean surfaces, but the kitchen in particular felt in need of a really good deep clean and tidy up - dirty pans in the oven, the fridge wasn't clean, junk left in the utility room, and in cupboards .. it didn't stop us enjoying our holiday - Runswick Bay is such a lovely place - but with a bit more effort this could a really great place to stay, its a shame ..

A lovely spot tooled away from the busier Whitby. But close enough for day out on Saltburn/Sandsend/Staithes. Great venue, and one we can easily see is returning to.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Moorings is well equipped and is in a great location to explore Runswick Bay and the surrounding area. The garden was nice and secure for our dog. There is a bus stop very nearby which was an added bonus. We parked the car up and visited Whitby, Sandsend and Staithes. We had a nice meal in the pub opposite one evening. Will definitely be booking again.

Great place to stay for a couple of days. Great walks round about, the beach is a 5 minute walk away and there’s the Cleveland way right beside it as well. Great pub 2 mins away that is extremely dog friendly. House was really clean with several different areas to chill out including a really nice garden. Perfect place to stay :)

Excellent location for beach and with great pub mins away. With a few upgrades the house could be fantastic. Some missing touches - welcome basket for example. The garden was a mess and lawn not moved. This is an issue with dogs and missing doggie poops. House was not the cleanest. Barhroom is amazing and it’s a shame the rest of upstairs does not match. The bedrooms are outdated,It’s like sleeping at your nans house. We normally stay at another house in Runswick but this is a good back up house. Good value for the area. Host and stay need to pay attention to the finer details.

Good location in Runswick Bay. Certainly not 5 star accomodation and signs of wear etc but fine for our needs and dog friendly etc. Shower was problematic in terms of getting hot water, but we managed ok. We really like the location and had booked at quite late notice, so happy to find something in the area.

Very nice house in such a beautiful location. Lots of walkable paths with breathtaking views. The house is clean and has all you need. The garden is beautiful for a sunny day.

Great place to stay in Runswick Bay. The house was clean and tidy and matched the description and pictures. The location was great, just a few minutes walk down to the beach. The Royal Hotel and the Runswick Hotel have friendly bars with nice restaurants and good service. The house has good sized rooms, fully equipped kitchen and a great garden space to enjoy your holiday. We’d definitely return for another stay in Runswick Bay.

Had a lovely stay at the moorings. The house had everything we needed and is really well located. Close to the beach, albeit at the top of a steep walk down. It was clean, warm and kitted out with all that one would expect. Runswick is a beautiful spot for walking and fossil hunting and the beach is great for families. The area is peaceful and picturesque. Would highly recommend.

Runswick Bay is beautiful and The Moorings is in a great spot to enjoy it from. The house was tastefully decorated, clean and well equipped. It was a little cold to be sitting out but a decent sized garden that our dog appreciated! We enjoyed a log fire when the weather turned. If you have a wide car beware the drive entry is a little narrow but plenty of space once you are through. I found the Host & Stay deposit options a bit confusing and it is an extra charge not on the initial booking hence 4 stars on value.
