The Moorings is a delightful holiday home located in Runswick Bay, a stunning coastal town, widely regarded as one of the prettiest spots on the Yorkshire coast. Sleeping up to four guests across two king bedrooms you can enjoy this home with family or friends. One king room can be configured with two singles if this is more suitable for your stay. This well-equipped property with onsite parking and an enclosed garden is the ideal spot for a relaxing break by the sea.
The space
The Moorings has a bright and cosy living area with a comfy sofa, leather armchair and large window flooding the room with light. Fully equipped for self-catering staycations, the kitchen diner has everything you could need to prepare and enjoy meals together.

Outside you’ll find an enclosed garden with a patio and outdoor seating where you can enjoy alfresco lunches, morning coffees and an evening tipple as the sun goes down.

The two bedrooms are located on the first floor. Both bedrooms feature king size beds and premium bedding to ensure you have the best sleep possible. Please note one of the king size beds can be made up as two singles if this is more suitable for your stay.

Modern and stylish, the family bathroom has a deep freestanding bathtub, a walk in shower, WC and vanity unit.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest access
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

There is parking available for three cars on the private driveway.

What could be a lovely house, let down by the company who runs it. I was a bit torn on this review and what to rate it, as the house itself it’s nice (if in need of sprucing up), however we felt extremely let down by the host and communication. An hour after we arrived at the properly (in the evening) we realised there was no travel cot for my 10m son to sleep in, despite this being included in the amenities and confirmed via chat this would be included. I messaged and called immediately, and didn’t receive a response until after midnight. We were then told (after more than 24 hours) a cot was not included as per the maintenance company. It was only after pushing this was delivered after two days. The house needs a deep clean (lots of dog hairs) and the garden needs maintenance. There also needs to be a warning about the hot tap. This is a lovely location, but avoid if you have a small child.

Lovely clean accommodation. Fully stocked kitchen with everything f needed to cook a meal. Garden area was nice but shame it was too wet to use. Only critique is whist two cars can fit on. Drive. Only one can exit with ease. As it’s narrow near the drive entrance. I’d advise parking second car in the road which is lovely and quiet

Good location. Lawn needs cutting and dog poo needs clearing up. Had some issues with appliances. Washing machine and toaster. Good walking along the coastal path. Good bus service to Whitby and Staithes. Lovely pub across the road serving excellent food. Also pub in Ellerby serves great food. Comfortable beds, large bath with plenty of hot water. Shower not very hot and sprays water through the gap and wets the floor. Grill and pan needs a thorough deep clean.

This is a lovely, comfortable house for a stay in Runswick Bay. An issue with the boiler one evening was resolved the next morning by the hosts. Overall a fantastic stay, we'll definitely return.

No welcome or info pack which is fine but some people rely on a pint of milk/area info /maps. Lovely kitchen diner but not a sharp knife in the house. Very warm and cosy. Underfloor heating in bathroom a bonus. But there’s no blind/curtains which is a bit weird!! Unfortunately the lighting in the living room is poor. Readers may need to sit elsewhere! Upstairs a super new bathroom lovely fluffy towels and complementary toiletries. Very comfy beds. Of course the area is perfect. A 5 min ramble down to the beach and 10 mins back! 20 min walk to Hinderwell or regular bus. Lots of walks. Delightful cafe at beach. Beach itself has to be one of the best around if not in Yorkshire
