We had a fantastic few days staying here. The location was perfect and so was the house with gorgeous views out to sea. It is close to lots of gorgeous villages, beaches and towns. I could walk to the beach from the house with an early morning cuppa to take in the ocean. There was a lovely pub and seafood shack selling delicious fresh crab just 5 minutes walk away. The house was lovely, it had everything we needed and it was very clean and easy to find. We will definitely be back.

House in a great location with fabulous views. Really good pub a 10/15 minute walk away. Great walks from the front door or a short drive away. On an excellent bus route along the coast. Would absolutely stay again.

The location of this property is very good. Salthouse is a really sweet place and is within easy distance of lots of coastal places. The instructions to get into the property aren’t clear as it wasn’t specified which lock box to use. There are two. One on the left looks like a lock box. But this isn’t the correct one. One on the right looks like a socket cover but is the lock box. This isn’t specified, this left us thinking the code was wrong, sat outside trying to call the company (with limited signal making it a task) to try to get in. After around an hour they reached the housekeeper who said there were two and it was the one on the right. This should definitely be communicated in check in instructions. House clean and tidy. Take your own salt, pepper, oil. (There is some there but grinders don’t really work). Quiet close though and nice to have sea views and be within walking distance of the coast and a pub and cafe and fantastic fish shop - crab royal salad a must!

The location was fantastic. Salthouse is a quiet village with a lovely small shop / cafe, and a pub that does great food. It is so well located on the North Norfolk coast with lots of places to visit east, west and south of the village, many things available within a walk or short drive. The house was very well located, quiet as set back from the road, good parking, and very close to everything including the beach road. Inside it is showing a few areas now where it may need a little redecoration, but it was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Property wasn’t clean, lots of cobwebs and spiders. Kitchen floor was dirty. Human hair throughout the property. Windows dirty and mold growing on them. Great location, shame the property didn’t live up to expectations.

What a pity we encountered several problems during our stay. 1) There was NO heating downstairs. 2) The shower pressure for hot water was appalling, a cheap electric shower. 3) There was dust on the floor in the main bedroom. 4) The dishwasher did not work on Tuesday 31st December…..we were unable to secure a restaurant reservation for that evening so bought food to cook at the cottage……we ended up washing by hand all the items that had been used. The cottage location is lovely, close to the Beach Road, the village shop and the local pub, The Dun Cow. The cottage had hot water so the bath was used. The cottage is dog friendly.

We had a lovely stay at this clean cottage in wonderful Salthouse. The only thing we would've liked is flexibility around check out times, 10:00AM on a Sunday morning is very early and couldn't be arranged according to the property's manager.

I stayed at this property in August and, unfortunately, discovered bedbugs during my visit. After 1 night, we started noticing itchy bites and found clear signs of bedbugs in the bedding (videos and pictures of bedbugs and bites as proof). This was extremely distressing and significantly affected my experience, as we were up at 4am and left the property swiftly after (a whole day/night early). Positives: Lovely location. Issues: Bedbugs: The most significant problem was the discovery of bedbugs. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention. I reported it to the host, but was met with utter disdain and an inability to show empathy for our experience. We haven’t even received an apology! Cleanliness: I expected a higher standard of cleanliness, especially for the price. Response from host unsatisfactory: A despicable offer of 1 night refund (the night we didn’t actually stay there as we came home early!)

We had a brilliant time. The cottage was a few minutes walk from the seafront, and visiting Blakeney, Sheringham and Cromer were extremely easy. Would stay again!

The property was in a lovely quiet part of the Norfolk coastline! Gorgeous walks on the doorstep with nothing but the sounds of wildlife around. It had everything we needed. Thank you for having us and our 3 dogs stay!

Tystie Cottage has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Perfectly situated in Salthouse, just a quick walk to the beach and ideally placed for exploring the North Norfolk coast. We had a lovely time - so good, we had to book an extra day! Highly recommended.

Great location but this is a no-frills compact house with basic amenities. The living room is a bit drab although the chairs and sofa were comfortable. We were disappointed to find some of the cooking utensils were greasy and we had to clean them before use. There was a smell of damp in the bathroom and evidence of water damage to the floor next to the bath. It was sad that the owners only provided one tea-towel, no hand towel for the kitchen and no J cloths or similar. If the house was brightened up, the damp sorted and the kitchen issues addressed we would have given it a higher rating.

Great cottage and fantastic location. Lovely walk up to the village store seeing the cows and ducks, also great as a base to explore North Norfolk, loads of lovely places to eat and short drive to Holt or sandy beaches at West Runyon and Cromer. Small courtyard gets midday and afternoon sun and breeze, has washing line and pegs so no issues drying gear. Plenty of room for us as family of four with two teenagers. No issues with Wi-Fi. Kitchen well equipped. Great communication from host.

Great cottage in a wonderful location for birding and walking. Very comfortable beds. Currently there is only a 2 seater sofa and one armchair but otherwise suitable for 4.

Tystie Cottage is set in a great location on the North Norfolk coast with views of the saltmarsh and shingle ridge coastline from the front windows. We have now stayed twice, have greatly enjoyed both stays and no doubt will be going again!

Had a lovely time away from the hustle and bustle of London, you are literally in the middle of nowhere. May be handy to take a torch if you want to roam In the evening but having the beach right opposite and being able to go for a walk was very accessible. The Cow Dun was a pleasant place and The Pheasant Hotel for evening meals. The property itself was very clean and cosy thank you.

Lovely location and easy access. Clean and plenty of space for us. Could only work ground floor heating so bedrooms were cold. Not much household stuff like scourer, dishwasher tablets and toilet paper.

This cosy little cottage was the perfect base for a family holiday with our two young children (4 and 2). Spotlessly clean space and well equipped, and within walking distance of a pebble beach and duck pond. The village was a great location to explore this bit of the coast, Holt Country Park, North Norfolk Railway, a walk to Cley windmill and back, boat rides from Blakeney and the beautiful sandy beaches at Sheringham were all within easy reach. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

There were no instructions for any of the kitchen equipment or the TV and we could not get the wifi to work. The shower temperature was very hard to regulate. We have come to expect a few basics/ condiments but there was not even any salt or pepper or oil. However, the sitting area and the beds were very comfortable. The place was beautifully clean and the owners were flexible around a COVID19 induced date change.

A great place to stay within a lovely village. Located on the Coast road with bus facilities all along the coast. Ideal for a peaceful break away from it all. Would return in a heartbeat for the peace and tranquillity. Very private location. Views from the front bedroom over the marshes and sea. A place to take a breath of fresh sea air.
