We had a great and comfortable stay at pilgrims rest. The cottage was very cosy and spacious. The cottage is walking distance to the beach and whilst you can’t see the sea from the cottage you can hear it. Good enclosed garden for the dogs. Stairs to upstairs very steep but soon got adjusted to them. My partner and I are 6ft+ so the occasional ducking to get through doorways was necessary but all part of the charm of such an old place.

Great place to stay, well equipped, secure garden, plenty of parking, 10 minutes walk to the dog friendly beach. Ifs coming to the end of the season so a couple of bits just needed a little attention, the upstairs shower bracket was broken but still functional and it needed a bit of a clean as the bottom of the screen had mould on it, and the second largest bedroom the window was letting in a draught so the seals may need replacing? But as i say its end of season so may have been difficult to get maintenence done. But overall a good few days to unwind and i would stay again.

Spent a week in this lovely cottage in bacton. Was a good size with 2 double bedrooms and a small single room and 2 bathrooms. Parking was easy, right outside and there were always a few spaces free. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and had all essential items. Also had a nice garden which we sat in and had a bbq one evening. The area is nice with the beach just a few minutes walk down a footpath at the end of the road and the 2 main bedrooms have views across fields. There are local shops and a few places to eat nearby and plenty of places to drive to for days out. If I was to list any negatives we thought it could be a bit cleaner in places - dropped something under the sofa and it was really dusty and messy under there. And there were loads of old leaflets laying around dating back years that could do with being sorted. And if you have any mobility issues you may find the stairs a bit tricky as they twist and are quite snug. We had a lovely week - thanks!

We loved our stay at Pilgrim's Rest. It's a very cozy cottage with everything we needed. We found the sofa and mattresses very comfy which was a welcome change from our experiences elsewhere. The location was a huge plus for us, being a short walk down to a beautiful and very quiet beach. There are lots of steps and the stairs are steel, but our 4 year old managed them just fine. The host was friendly, responsive and helpful. We will certainly return.

Good place to catch up with busy Son and his Family - 3 generations/birthday celebration. Easy to take the grandchildren to the great beach and plenty of places to walk with the dogs. Easy parking. Secure garden was great for the children and dogs. Some earlier reviews mentioned a lack of basics (washing up liquid etc). But we found tea, coffee, milk sachets, starter shampoo etc. A few things showing their age e.g. fire pit past its best and both shower head brackets had failed. But in the main up to date in terms of TVs, USB sockets, dishwasher, washer etc. Note: some steps between rooms which might be tricky for some and stairs are quite steep.

Great location, good for exploring local area plus dog friendly beach within walking distance. Clean cottage with good size bedrooms, lovely crisp white bed linen. Being a cottage the stairs are steep, although not a problem for us, but worth bearing in mind as not mentioned in the property details. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped although basics like cling film, oil, foil, OVEN GLOVES are not provided which having been to a few air bnb properties I didn't expect. Good communication and check in, parking available outside the cottage, although first come first service we never had a problem with not finding a space. We enjoyed our stay in Pilgrims rest.

We had a great time staying at Pilgrims Rest - very close to the sandy beaches and other sites around Norfolk. The house was beautiful with everything you'd need for long weekend away - would definitely recommend!

Great location only 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to the shop. Very comfortable beds and good bed linen. The garden was a bonus being much larger than we expected. All the rooms were well equipped. We definitely recommend a stay at Pilgrim's Rest.

We had a lovely stay in Pilgrims Cottage, it is a comfortable little place, good bedding, and equipped kitchen, if you want to cook. We travel regularly and it was a first to not have any basics in the kitchen such as, washing up liquid, bin bags, more than one tiny sponge to clean, salt, pepper etc… maybe we have been spoilt with our previous self catering cottages! So just remember to add everything to your shopping list for when you arrive! Garden is secure for dogs and good size. The cottage is in a good location for exploring the beaches and local areas, we had a lovely walk to Mundesley and yummy meal in The Ship, Gunton Arms is a great pub only 15 minutes away. Beaches are only a short walk and not crowded even over the Easter break.

The cottage is beautiful,nicely decorated and well equipped.The location is fantastic with just a 5min walk to the beach. It was unfortunate that we were notified on the morning of arrival that the fridge was not working but we were assured that it was being sorted. We ended up being left without a fridge for our entire stay which I found very disappointing. Every time we contacted Host and Stay they reassured us they were on it but nothing happened.Such a shame as the property itself is fantastic and would also be fab in the summer being so close to the beach but disappointed with Host and Stay.

It is a nice cottage and a great location near the beach. Unfortunately for our stay the fridge/freezer did not work and this was not resolved during our stay. We also did not have any logs included for the wood burner.

We have just had a lovely stay at Norfolk. The location of this property is perfect, just a five minute stroll to the beach and very close to a cafe, little shop and a fish and chip shop. The beach was incredible, lovely sand with no pebbles and very peaceful. The kitchen was stunning. Big open room with a large dining room table. We used the highchair they provided. A cosy living room and nice clean bathrooms with a lovely shower. Bedrooms were perfect for us. Wonderful views and easily fit a travel cot. There were fans in some of the rooms which were a nice touch! The garden was a great space as well. Well looked after.

Good location near a dog friendly beach and cafes. The beds are comfortable with very clean linen. The bathrooms are clean and work well. The kitchen is well equipped with a nice bbq outside. Very easy to park and checkin. We’ve been to this property three times now and can recommend it.

This was an amazing set up for me and my family. Loved the quiet location, again it was great for us and the dogs and the local pub - Poschers Pocket - was fantastic, just what we needed along with the local fish and chip shop! Brilliant family weekend! Thank you!!

A lovely stay in beautiful Bacton! The best thing about this lovely house is the big kitchen table where we enjoyed lots of food, drinks, fun and games with our family and friends. Would definitely stay again!

Arrived at the property and it was as per listed from the outside in a lovely location. Unfortunately for us we didn’t have a very nice welcome the cottage smelt of damp which hit you like a tone of bricks when you walked through the door but having said this it was overall very clean inside. The back door to the garden is very stiff and hard to lock but once we managed to open it the garden looked like it had not been cleaned from the previous guests. There was large amount of dog poo in the garden which was extremely disappointing!!! The rest of the cottage inside was clean including the bathrooms and bedrooms. The welcome package was a lovely treat.

Lovely house with lots of character. Enjoyed relaxing in the evenings with the log fire. The dogs loved their welcome treat and we were impressed with the warm outside shower for them when returning from their walks. Definitely recommend a visit for guests with or without dogs as within short distance of lovely beaches and woods. Thank you for a lovely few days!

Fantastic few days for Nelson our dog last adventure before starting his life as a working dog. Beach was 5 min walk and was pristine as you often find in North Norfolk. Quite a steep climb down but my 80 year old mum was able to make it Private secure garden ideal for the dog and cottage was really homely and clean. Vendors took time to communicate clearly and access was simple. A little remote for restaurants and stores so car is a must really but with remoteness comes quite so relaxing time with family and four legged friend. Parking is easy and right outside front door in small cul de sac so no worries about passing traffic etc Overall great place and well worth the visit.

Pilgrim’s Rest was a lovely home away from home for our stay in Bacton, the beaches were nearby and we were lucky with the weather. The log burner was a bonus as was the hot water shower outside, very useful with a muddy golden retriever!! The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. Supermarkets were a short drive away and there were plenty of lovely pubs nearby. I would happily stay there again. What made our stay even more special was the proposal on the beach!! I said yes 😊💍🍾

Lovely property, plenty of space for 4 adults and a dog. Stairs are quite steep as you might expect for a cottage but worth baring in mind. Parking was easy, peaceful area with a lovely coffee shop at the end of the road. Chinese just up the road was also very nice. Ideal location for driving out and about to see Norfolk. Cottage is nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a nice stay.

Stayed here as a group of four adults and three dogs. The house was perfect for our needs and plenty big enough for all of us. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the bathrooms very large and well equipped and the kitchen was great. There was a hot shower in the garden for the dogs when we came back from the wood walk and plenty of space for them to dry out before being allowed into the lounge. The only things we could recommend for improvement would be to put cushions on the kitchen chairs and soft pads on the feet of the kitchen chairs to stop the awful noise when they move across the kitchen floor. Overall a fantastic little find in a very good location, easy walking distance to a wonderful dog friendly beach.

Pilgrims Rest was a beautiful property, in a lovely location.. the property is nicely decorated and had everything you could want inside, it was super clean with parking outside the door too. It has a secure(ish) garden (we had to move a few items of garden furniture to ensure our dogs couldn’t escape). The location is close to the beach, which is only a 5 minute walk down the lane opposite which was great for us and our dogs.. we all throughly enjoyed our stay..

We had a lovely stay here. 4 adults, 1 child & 1 dog & plenty of space for us all. The cottage is well equipped & tastefully decorated & furnished. We felt very comfortable during our stay. We absolutely love how close the beautiful beach is and lovely we could just walk there. This is our second visit to Bacton & love how peaceful it is. We would definitely recommend this property.

Pilgrims Rest was an absolutely stunning property, beautiful enclosed garden which our dogs loved! A very luxurious cottage which we will definitely be returning to very soon hopefully! If I could say that there was only one thing it could have benefited from it would be a washing line but this certainly isn’t a criticism by any means, the cottage was absolutely perfect for us in every aspect! Lovely spacious cottage which was clean and tidy throughout. The cottage had everything we needed and more to cook/serve family meals for our family of 5. Beautiful sceneries, perfect for walking our dog including a nearby extremely quiet beach where our puppy could run wild without us having to worry about others. Can not fault!! Oh and the king size bed was very very comfortable!

Perfect holiday cottage for our family stay at Christmas. Spacious, well equipped, clean and cosy. The host decorated the house with Christmas decorations and provided a lovely welcome hamper which were both a lovely added touch. Bacton is a sleepy village but the cottage is in the perfect soot to get to the beach within 5 minutes walk.

Amazingly clean, house was spotless. Lots of little touches and everything has been thought about to make sure you have what was needed to enjoy a family and dog friendly getaway. Less than 5 mins to the beach, little shop and a takeaway a few mins by car. Great stay, highly recommend.

The cottage is nicely decorated, clean and in a lovely location, close to a nice beach. However, the kitchen was poorly equipped, the interior smelled of old cigarette smoke, and we found the hosting company rigid and difficult to deal with. Please note: you need to bring your own wood for the various wood burning facilities.

An immaculate, characterful cottage with great facilities & a fantastic garden. We stayed 3 nights and would highly recommend. Not far to Cromer & Norfolk Broads in the car. The local Chinese takeaway was great & village shop kept us well stocked. It was our first visit to the area (from near York) & will definitely like to return to explore the region some more. We'd definitely try to stay here again. A perfect base.

Very enjoyable stay at a lovely cottage in Norfolk. It was incredibly clean on arrival and really well laid out. The back garden was a great place to relax and enjoy the bbq, fire pit and bean bags, the front room was very cosy with the wood fire and access to the tv and its apps, the kitchen has lots of appliances and even had a hamper with lots of goodies (even dog treats on arrival) and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Both bathrooms were very clean and spacious. The cottage is situated a few minutes walking distance from the beach and has lovely country side walks nearby too. The town is limited but other towns are very close if you have a car. Thanks again for hosting us and if I'm holidaying in Norfolk again I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.
