overall the house was lovely and clean,a real shame about the housekeeping.

there were no towels,was advised by host&stay to purchase some and we would be reimbursed.nearer to bedtime 9ish realised no bedding on either bed.rang again and was told to do same as towels. we were told host&stay housekeeping would be in the next day so we slept in our clothes! mid afternoon was contacted by the owners husband and told his cousin would be with us in 1hr 30 mins. 10 mins later we were rung by cousin so we had to cut short our day out to get bk for her as she couldn't get in with the keys safe.we were given a set of bedding (flat sheet,fitted sheet and pillowcases) for only 1 bed so had to ring the cousin to come bk.she did so n we drove her to asda for a 2nd set of bedding.very dissatisfied with the housekeeping arrangements for this stay which was booked in march.

Well equipped and comfortable.

In today's environment we are urged to save water. In all 3 wash basins you couldn't push any of the plugs down. To have a wash you had to keep the tap running all the time.

Excellent location for our needs. Very clean & tidy. Slightly unnerving only receiving entry code a few hours before arrival once we were en route. External communal parking area at front of property is off putting as very shabby …..full of litter & weeds. But parking spot always available. Living room needed more lamps as dark and dingy. Also residual stale smoke smell in living room…possibly from smoking at back of property?? Problem with drainage of sink in en-suite which needs looking at. Generally good value for money and a pleasant stay.

Property was fine inside. Outside bins were overflowing with rubbish and parking area was not well signed.
Had have transport to go to beach which meant paying in car park.
Also overlooks the grave yard but least was quite.

Location within walking distance of town and beach via a bridge over the railway line. Corner shop and excellent Chinese takeaway just over the road. A graveyard within very close proximity of the back of the property but the neighbours were very quiet and didn't bother us 😉
Property suited us as a party of 3 but may be a bit snug for 4 guests as only sofa and one armchair. Also the bed in the smaller bedroom was smaller than a double. Kitchen looked well equipped to cater for yourselves with dishwasher, oven, microwave etc
Shower in the ensuite was lovely and powerful with a small sample complimentary shower gel and shampoo to start you off. Lovely clean white towels and bedding. House was really cosy, so much so we had to turn the heating down as it was too warm!!! Lovely after a freezing day on the beach though. Would definitely book again.

The pillows in the master bedroom were too firm and solid for us. Even by taking a pillow away each they were still too high and I ended up using no pillows at all the second night!!!
My only real complaint would be not having welcome information printed out to view whilst at the property. Upon arrival you have to scan a QR code to view the details on your phone, or read through an email that was only sent 1-2 hours before arrival. Didn't really help with location details when we actually left home 5 hours before we received the email!!!

The house was toasty warm on arrival and throughout. House was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Neighbours were quiet.
Would thoroughly. recommend and would definitely stay there again if ever up that way.

Koelkast was stuk en er werd niets aan gedaan terwijl wij er verbleven. Duurde weken voordat wij een kleine financiële tegemoetkoming ontvingen.

The fridge was broken and all our food went off. As the fridge could not be fixed (which is understandable) I was told I would get a £30 refund for our food that had gone off - 8 weeks later and 14 emails in and I am still chasing this refund after providing my receipt.
I’m not sure if “Host and Stay” are some sort of scam company or just completely incompetent (I don’t like doing business with either!) but this has put me off staying here again when we return to the area next Summer.
Sadly I wouldn’t recommend to my friends and family and would advise people to steer clear as there appears to be something odd going on with “Host and Stay”.

Property Management fell significantly short & highly unsatisfactory.
Key Issues
Misleading Amenities: Listing advertised washer & dryer, on arrival discovered there was NO dryer.
Broken Appliances: Refrigerator was non-functional.
Unacceptable Cleanliness: Dirty dishes & greasy pans in cupboard.
Missing Essentials: No coffee maker, as advertised.
Cigarette Odor: 1st floor reeked of cigarette smoke; presumably a non smoking house
We intended to cook nightly meals, which was impossible due to the non-functional refrigerator. Our groceries of salads, vegetables, chicken, fish, and purchased meals had to be discarded causing additional expense.
Despite repeated attempts at resolution over the 5 nights, none of these issues were resolved. Host/Stay offered a refrigerator technician OR a possible move after day 2. We chose the tech, though later told a new refrigerator would be delivered after our departure.
50% refund requested. They offered 20%. Property fine; not management

This is a great holiday home away from home. Decor is slick and modern. Bedrooms are calm and comfortable. Plenty of toilets and bathrooms. The kitchen has all you need to make any meal you want. It was nice to have a washer handy, along with the microwave and dishwasher. The back garden is a nice outdoor sanctuary to spend a mild night talking about your day at the seaside. The hosts were very helpful and communicative. The check in/out process was seamless. If I come to this area again, I would definitely want to book here. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay in the Townhouse ,Ashcroft Mews, Seaham.
This house is just fabulous inside, modern , clean ,very comfortable ,cosy and well equipped . The two double beds are super comfy and the kitchen perfectly equipped for creating meals to eat in the lovely dining space inside or outside in courtyard area with good patio furniture and attractive plants surrounded by a border fence for privacy.The bathrooms are new and tastefuly fitted . Please don't let it's location , just set back from a road and bordering a cemetery ,prevent you from booking. On first arrival it's front exterior seems a ittle unattractive but it's a great place to stay !

Its a shame that the front area of rough grass can't be made more attractive and garden like but that may not be possibe in a mews type adjoining property.
Minor decorating in a better matching colour needs to completely cover a past watermark in the lounge area to make the property perfect.

Was not happy about having to pay extra Fees on top of Air BNB costs. It should be included. I only stayed 2 nights and had to pay £25 insurance fee on a third party site. Even though I paid in full for my stay they withheld the checkin code until I paid the £25. The shower also turned itself on in the middle of the night which woke my child at 2am, not ideal.

It was clean and a nice lounge but sadly property seems to have been neglected as maintenance issues not dealt with and garden overgrown at front.
Nice back courtyard.
Clean bathrooms .
Felt basic but functional

Cooker broken and not able to be used throughout our stay despite being broken obviously before we arrived all knobs broken off.

Badly stained ceilings in lounge with old brown water stains from old leak.

Garden in front of property very deep grass and weeds and overflowing wheelie bin and rubbish

No bathroom bin in one bathroom

No safety catch on upstairs bedroom window which could open wide like a front door and we had young child staying

Downstairs loo fan whirring and broken

Property managed by 3rd party and system in place whereby you have to pay damage deposit to their choice of insurance which is non refundable and then the damage is already there when you arrive !!!

Location close to Seaham however in a not v pleasant area . When we pulled up outside after driving 4 hours disappointment was the feeling.
Bedroom directly overlooks a cemetery and it’s so close you can read the headstone names clearly 🥴

Disappointed but acceptable. Reached out to host company before booking to explicitly ask if all previous review concerns about the oven & shower in this unit had been corrected, they gave a resounding "yes, in full". This was incorrect. The main shower head leaks from the top and absolutely needs replacing, and the oven knob for temperature control is a complete bust. I had to macguyver/make an educated guess trying to use it for the few meals we had staying in - wanted to cook more, but didn't feel safe not knowing what was actually hot enough.
Glaring issues aside, unit was easy to find, easy to check-in & out of with a key lock box and proactive messages/reminders from the host. Private little back patio was nice. These townhouses backs onto a pretty cemetery, even nicer. Clean and tidy upon arrival, Clare did a wonderful job. Interesting trying to use such small bathroom sinks. Proximity to The Lookout & beaches, Morrisons, are your biggest plus sides. Need sign for where to park.

Well equipped house, nice toiletries, great size TV. Nicely furnished, well heated and nicely decorated.

The pillows were way too hard. The front of the house is in a bit of a state, loose paving and no security light, a bit unkempt. The shower leaks and has done for a while which is worrying when there is a damage deposit which has been paid. I wasn't happy about paying a damage waiver at all really. Never had to pay this with previous booking.com bookings.

Great accommodation, very clean, dog friendly, great facilities, comfortable. Posted back some laundry we accidentally left at the property. Partially refunded us for a complaint.

Oven did not work. Contacted Host and Stay on arrival and was told someone would be in contact the following day to fix the oven but was not contacted about our complaint until after the holiday. This meant we could only use a microwave while there. After the holiday, Host and Stay offered us a 15% refund to make up for the inconvenience (which we really appreciated).

A book or folder from owners with informayion would be good, there were signs of some damage and i feel guests need to be assured they will not be held responsible. A hairdryer and footstool would be good

The house was great. Two bathrooms and an outdoor eating area were highlights for us. Had to drive to the beach in Seaham as a bit too far to walk, so location could have been better for us as we were on holiday.

The facilities were clean and tidy

It charged deposit before checking in, options of a non-refundable £25 or a refundable £250 to be returned 7 days after checking out. We didn't want to pay a large amount before our stay, so we chose to pay extra £25. After we paid, they continued to send me messages to urge me pay for the deposit, making me feel this as a scam since I paid already. After a long time, they finally sent me the detail information of the property. Overall, this communication was terrible.
