The location and layout of the apartment was great. I think it’s fair to say that it’s very dated and a bit cluttered which meant inevitably it was very dusty. Got the sense it gets a ‘quick clean’ but lots of cobwebs and very dusty lower surfaces, dirty windowsills etc. Beds and towels were spotless however which was lovely. Kitchen was a real mishmash of old crockery, and again knickknacks which were very sweet but also very dusty. Was fantastic to be right on the Cleveland Way and we got very lucky with the weather so we had a good time but even though it was July I still don’t think the price point is quite right compared to other properties we stay in peak season (which is usually about 5-6 a year). For a simple accommodation in a beautiful spot then this is great.

Perfect view through big window in living/dining room. Nice table&bench in front of house with sea view. It is just along cleveland pathway. As there is no telescope available anymore, bring binoculars in case you want to zoom in on the coast/cliffs/sea. Enjoyed the sea view and talking to neighbours and cleveland path walkers going by. Co-op and fishnchips just 4 min car drive away. Only 1 towel per person provided, hence you may want to bring additional.

Beautiful area, amazing walks. Cottage has been thoughtfully decorated, however there was a large amount of dust on several surfaces, there were no condiments or oils etc for cooking and the main shower couldn't be turned down sufficiently so it was incredibly hot. Very comfy sofas and beds. Overall it was a lovely stay, just a few small niggles.

We had a very enjoyable holiday. Very comfortable house, well equipped and located in a lovely Village and countryside. Lots to do for three generations. The one downside was that the Shower temperature was far too hot. We contacted the helpdesk and they were very unresponsive and unhelpful. We were just given obvious advice like “turn the temperature down to its coldest? Obviously we had done that right away. Overall an excellent house and location, reccomended. Paul Cavanagh.

Beautiful views, great walks straight from your door. Very well equipped, clean and tidy. Clean, ironed white bedding and towels. Spacious lounge, good storage in the bedrooms. A good location to visit other coastal areas and also explore places in land.

Stayed and view point cottage. beautiful location and lovely stay. very quiet and peaceful and the view over the cliffs and beach of ports musgrave idilic. Lovely base to explore the North Yorkshire coast. Cottage was cosy, very clean and warm once radiators and water had heated up, and cosy retreat after a few snowy/wintery days! The only slight downside or points to consider is there are no condiments of any sort in the house, so ensure you bring your own. The frontroom although clean, did have a strong smell of dog when first coming into the property. We also have a dog and know the cottage is dog friendly. But it may be worth having a deep clean or air spray to use to helpaak the smell? One other area of feedback is the walls can become quite damp, especially with the snowy weather we had. The cottage had been vacant for some time prior to arriving. If housekeeping could turn on the electric heating system for anticipated arrival, this would be great. Otherwise beautiful stay!

The photos didn't actually do it justice, the sea view was outstanding, every morning, sun rising over the coastline, just breathtaking. Everything we needed was within the cottage, heating worked a treat. spotless, comfy, and ample space. fossil hunting was withing walking distance down the path to the shore or a walk along the coastal path for more beaches. Excellent, friendly pubs locally, which served vast meals and great prices. Whitby, a stones throw in the car was a great day out. perfect holiday getaway.

Fantastic stay! The area is beautiful, and the views from the property are absolutely stunning. The beds and sofas were very comfortable, and the property itself was larger than expected! The only downside was the damp in the walls, which you do notice from time to time, but the scenery more than made up for it. We would definitely stay again, but would avoid the colder months.

Dale’s place was beautiful. The apartment was comfortable and relaxing and the view was incredible. We enjoyed watching the birds while sitting on the bench outside the property. We saw a barn owl and a bullfinch amongst others. We had lovely walks one day to Runswick bay and another to Staithes and Saltburn was only a shirt drive away. We would have loved to have gone to No.20 the restaurant in Port Mulgrave but it was closed. All in all it was a perfect place to spend a few days. Thank you.

Really impressed with this apartment. Right on the edge of the Cleveland way and with spectacular cliff and sea views from the living room window. Has those touches other rentals often ignore, like mirrors in the bedrooms and plugs that can be accessed. Bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine. Living space was spacious and tastefully decorated. All very accessible for the less mobile. Only two stairs to get in and two stairs internally to access the bathrooms and bedrooms. Walk in shower. All very well thought out. There are some reasonable distance stretches of well gravelled and gentle incline Cleveland way heading out both ways from the apartment, again great for the less mobile to enjoy the spectacular cliff top views. Highly recommended.

The view is magnificent and the location is perfect for visiting local beaches and attractions. For our family of five with a 3 year old it was a challenging house - for example there are a lot of breakable ornaments all over the house and all of the crockery is porcelain. There was a noticeable smell, which I think was caused by the kitchen/washing machine or possibly previous visitors with a dog. This did spoil the experience for us a bit especially on arrival, but we did enjoy our stay overall. I think I would recommend this place for a family with older children, or those on a walking holiday. The location is stunning and there are lots of walks right from the doorstep

What a fantastic few days spent at Dales place!! Fossil hunting, walking, days out to Whitby, Saltburn..... The apartment is surprisingly bigger than expected with lovely furnishings and 2 bathrooms! The apartment itself is well stocked with everything you need for a great base to explore the surrounding areas. Port mulgrove is beautiful and situated in between Staithes and Runswick bay. The view from the apartment is stunning and there's so much to explore within 30 mins drive, there is a bus though if you don't feel like taking a car. ....we will definitely staying again 🙂

If you want a place with a TV the size of a wall, and lightening fast broadband, then you may be disappointed. However, if you want to enjoy your holiday, spending quality time with your friends/family, in a beautiful location then this is the place for you. Difficult to add over and above what's already been said. Communication was spot on. Very well equipped throughout, especially the kitchen. You are located right on the Cleveland Way, so if you're into walking, you are very well placed. Plenty of places locally to visit/eat etc. Highly recommended and we will definitely be visiting again.

View Point is aptly named; it offers a stunning view of a dramatic part of the coastline and the Cleveland Way is on the doorstep. The property is well appointed and comfortable. Restaurant No20 is less than ten minutes walk away and is excellent. Hinderwell is fifteen minutes walk from the property and there you will find The Tea Room and Village Hub which is very good. The butchers shop doubles as the village store. The Brown Cow serves a decent pint of beer. The bus service along the coast is reliable. All in all a perfect location for a relaxing break.

The place is in beautiful location for sure, however there was a wasps next just under the eves of the door way so we had to tackle them going in and out. The shower door was off its hinges but we managed to mend it, that was also the case of the wardrobe in the Ocean room. The taps were heavily covered in lime scale that could easily be cleaned which I did. The window looking out to sea was dirty and you could see hand prints from a child all over it, the sill was very dusty. Bedrooms were very dusty the top of the bed head was thick with dust and so were the light fitting. Floor hadn't been vacuumed in lounge so was very hairy but again we had a good clean up so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. Having said all this we had a lovely time and if was lovely for our doggies.

Viewpoint suited us down to the ground. We enjoy great views, walking spots and peace and quiet and we got all of that and more here. Our short break was to celebrate our daughter's 18th and the end of her A levels and it was perfect for her. Apartment was clean and super comfortable and had most things we needed. As others have said, there is a bit of a lack of a few essentials that you can bring as long as you know beforehand, notably washing up liquid and a tea towel. Another reviewer mentioned a shower head for the bath and there is one , the bath is fab in fact! We would definitely choose again for exploring the N.Yorks coast.

This was great for us and the property worked well and we can recommend it. Super location and easy walk to Staithes. >Note that the steps to the beach below (for fossils) have been washed away and you need to be physically able to get down the slope using the ropes. We would defo stay here again! It was larger than expected and very quiet, we heard no noise from any neighbours and it was silent at night. There is parking right outside directly on the Cleveland way walk, so perfect if you’re hoping to explore that. It felt homely and there were all the kitchen crockery etc that you might need. The only downsides were there was no enclosed garden to let our dog out in (but this isn’t on the description, it was my error) and the internet is very slow. That said it wouldn’t put us off coming again because the location is just so beautiful and the apartment ideal!

- ve Despite paying the management agent a cleaning fee we were disappointed to find dead wood lice, hair in the rugs and dirty cutlery. + ve That aside, the property was suited to our requirements with two bathrooms a plus. It is in a convenient location, overlooking the bay with opportunity to witness the sunrise and offering the costal walk into Staithes and Runswick Bay

This is a wonderful home and the views are incredible. Nice spacious apartment lovely walks around. You can walk to the pub about 25 min walk each way or short drive. Close to all local areas and central point. Only downside was the wifi, I know this isn’t a must when on holiday but handy to have wifi to search for local places and if travelling needed to work etc this wouldn’t be possible here due to lack of 4g and no wifi. I would 100% return and recommend lovely place.

A beautiful view and great little cottage. The parking spaces are really helpful and only a 5 min drive to Staithes and Runswick Bay. Comfy beds, good shower and a lovely free standing bath. A Cliff top walk begins just outside the cottage door. Great for a mini break would love to stay again and stay longer.

Beautiful apartment with the main attraction obviously being the view. We have just spent two nights here and it was amazing and were very sad to leave. So many great spots for walks with the dogs and lovely little villages to explore. As mentioned on other reviews the Wi-Fi wasn’t great but you are on top of a cliff edge so to be expected. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful remote location with amazing views, perfect if you want an escape. Great walks direct from the house less than 2 miles to Runswick Bay and Staithes, and other coastal towns within a short drive. It’s spacious with nicely decorated bedrooms and bathrooms; the roll top bath is fabulous. Kitchen’s well equipped other than a lack of sharp knives. Let downs were a foisty smell in the property that remained throughout our stay, poor or no wifi connection most the time, TV & Netflix not working, and couldn’t locate the books/games/dvds advertised, so if hadn’t brought your own, entertainment could have been lacking if you weren’t able to get out and about. Overall had a great stay but some aspects of the property itself could have been better.

Did miss the telescope in the photos not being there, I was looking forward to checking that out. If you need WiFi not the best, but might be due to location. Easy to check in, good support staff, Would definitely return.

The place was perfect! Easy to find, directions were good, although we were using Google maps! Lovely & clean, nice little touches here & there. The tv has Netflix, but couldn't tune into the usual channels. Not that we cared, Netflix was all we needed on a night. Great location, easy to get to all the usual places, Whitby, Scarboro, Filey, Redcar etc. Eating out, we ended up at the Spa Hotel in Saltburn & the food was absolutely delicious!! Also, just have to mention the outstanding views from the flat, there's a reason it's called Viewpoint. Fabulous, would definitely recommend. Thank you for a great stay 😊 Sally, Lisa & Karen x

A beautiful setting with an unbelievable view. A lovely clean and tidy property, with a luxurious bath. Only issue being unable to access Tv, sky or Netflix on our wet days with young children. Overall though, a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.

A great cottage with beautiful views across the bay. Parking for two cars is great if you are travelling with friends as we were A mile walk from the cottage on the cleveland way to Staithes which is a lpvely fishing port, with great pubs/places to eat. Being on the Cleveland way if you like walking you can walk through to Whitby too.

View Point was such a lovely place for a group to stay in. The view from the window was stunning, the beds were really comfortable and we loved the shower and bathroom. Port Mulgrave is close to both Saltburn and Whitby, without the crowds and we will definitely be returning.

The setting was amazing! The pictures do not do justice to how serene and peaceful this apartment was - and we loved the added plus of the pedestrian and canine traffic as they headed out on the paths near the house. The house was spotless and the hosts were super responsive to our questions or concerns. It is a short drive in the Whitby - but no matter how long you stay, you will wish you had just planned to stay here longer! We ate in both nights that we stayed so that we could enjoy the view a little longer.

We stayed here April 2018 for 2 nights, the cottage was exactly as advertised, so we had no horrible surprises. What was understated was the view which was glorious, even when the view was obscured by mist and fog we were all glued to the window! Would definitely return and recommend 🤗👏👏
