The church is a wonderful place for a family gathering. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped and the long dining table was perfect for long meals and catching up time. The building was very cold when we arrived and took a few hours to warm up. Once it was warmer, and with the help of the sizeable woodburner, we had cosy afternoons and evenings on the sofas. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were warm and attractively decorated. The area is stunning. Despite its isolated position, we made use of the Newcastle bus which leaves almost right outside the house. Everyone was friendly - the neighbour whose entrance path we shared, Sue who sold us the logs, and the staff at the cafe. We visited Kielder Water, Hadrian's Wall and Newcastle (to see our daughter who is studying there). We'd certainly recommend this for a relaxing break.

Stunning converted chapel, the space offered by the open plan living and kitchen area is perfect for staying with family or friends, and the bedrooms and reading nook are lovely and cosy. The house is beautifully decorated, even though the space is large it felt really homely. We’d love to stay again, thank you.

Very spacious place, parking is a bit traumatic with having to park around the back and no direct path between house and parking place. Travelled with my aunt and mother for quiet break. One of the upstairs wardrobe door fell off when my mum opened the door, missing screws. It hit my mum in the head, nothing major just poorly maintained or not checked since last group. I’ve taken a pictures of needed. Neighbour was having roof fixed when we were there so ladders and scaffolding where navigated on Friday.

Lovely quirky place.Great location if a bit isolated from local amenities. Well equipped and comfortable. Great place to chill and relax. Just make sure you bring essentials as the nearest shop is a fair drive away to n an urgent situation. Comfortable beds, lovely showers and great communal areas. If you come in the Autumn or Winter make sure to buy or bring extra fire wood as it’s a huge area to heat.
