The space

This beautiful, dog friendly lodge offers an ideal rural retreat with stunning countryside views, spacious interiors, and convenient on-site parking.

The spacious living room is thoughtfully divided into zones for dining, lounging, and cooking. The dining table, which seats all guests, is perfect for shared meals. The lounge area includes two comfortable sofas and a footstool with a peaceful outlook from the large windows. There is plenty of space to relax with a book and a cup of tea, or listen to music the Bluetooth speaker.

The dark blue cabinets and ample countertop space make the kitchen a joy to cook in. Boasting modern appliances and stocked with essentials like tea, coffee and sugar, plus the bonus of a dual-air fryer, the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering stays.

The master bedroom features a double bed and ample storage in the form of shelves, cupboards and drawers. The second and third bedrooms offer twin single beds and storage space. Each bed at Riverwood, Ashdown Retreat is made up with fresh, white linens, and large bath towels, small hand towels, and complimentary guest toiletries are provided.

The modern family bathroom features a walk-in shower, wash basin, and WC. An additional shower room is available in the form of an ensuite to the master bedroom for guests’ convenience.

We arrived in the evening of the first day. Took a few wrong turns even with the link provided. Located Riverside and must say it was extremely clean and tidy. However, the dishwasher was out of order and there was no scrubber 🧽 provided to wash the dishes by hand. Ended up going to the local Lidl to get one. There was no iron or ironing board either and no hair dryer. If this had been mentioned in the email to us, we would have packed these items as well. There was also no socket for us to charge our electric toothbrushes. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant stay and we would highly recommend this to our friends and family. The cabin was situated in a very spacious site. It was very close to local amenities including a car boot sale which we thoroughly enjoyed exploring. The dressing room in the master bedroom was an extremely nice touch. The fact that there were two bathrooms and shower rooms made it much easier. Everything was to a high specification, we had a really good time.

It was a great place and easy go round especially for kids near the flamingo land we went to outside for walk was great view. the area is very nice and quite kids really enjoy it a lot nice place to see.

I’d describe it as a caravan not a lodge . Master bedroom has a on suite so x2 showers . Also has a dressing room so better than described. The boiler was turned down so wasn’t heating up well till realised so check!! There was a drainage issue and dishwasher leaked but nothing that affected us. Shame to only have x4 chairs to sit at the table when it sleeps x6 Also has an air fryer that was useful and not advertised. We stayed over new yrs so didn’t use the decking but would be lovely during the summer . Over all we had a fab stay. But the extra info would have made it easier when packing .

Great location, excellent communication from host.. lodge is a slight exaggeration it’s basically a posh caravan nevertheless great value for money would stay again
