We had a lovely holiday largely due to the beautiful weather and coastline. Amble is a pleasant town with a lovely'buzzy' harbour area, some very good restaurants and a number of pubs. Everything is within easy walking distance. The property was ok, large and clean with pristine towels and bedding and all kitchen equipment you would need. A couple of minor issues were sorted out promptly, host and stay were reactive and communicated well. The TV is a pain, there is no ariel so requires a streaming account (if you have one!) to access everything via apps. There are a lot of pigeons at the back of the property making it dirty and smelly. I appreciate it's not an easy fix for the host but needs a mention.

I’m sorry to say but this was the worst place we’ve ever stayed. Extremely damp and smelly with one room unusable as a result. Nails sticking out of door frames. Our two year old trod on an exposed nail and wanted to go home for the first 3 days of our stay poor chap. Clumps of dust, although generally clean to be fair. Outside bin area covered in bird faeces and a dead pigeon. Proper disgusting out there and clearly hadn’t been appropriately cleaned for a long time. Contacted host and they offered maintenance and were polite and responsive but ultimately poor. Failed to deal with what we’d asked them to do. Although nothing they could do about the worst elements being the damp and smell. Left a dehumidifier but to little effect obviously. Spent the whole stay having to send emails/take photos have phone calls and generally feeling very hard done by. They need to invest time and money to improve this place. Happy to take people’s money knowing the problems mentioned in other reviews.

Good location for Amble and surrounding area. Although no private parking, we were always able to find parking on surrounding streets but we knew about this before travelling. There were a few repairs required which we found on arrival but probably not to be listed in this review. Trouble with TV (not able to watch what we call normal TV ie IT1) it kept defaulting to BBC I player which was frustrating but out mostly during the day so not much of an issue. Could do with some easy to follow instructions.? The dining area in the conservatory was cold (no heating/heater) so didn’t eat in there. Door between kitchen and front room needs adjusting (sticking) and bathroom door doesn’t close properly. House cosy and warm once central heating got going. Amble lovely, hut shops down by the harbour + Sunday market a must.! Plenty cafes restaurants, and food shops and takeaways. Outside yard area a bit grim ( pigeons) so stayed clear.!! ☹️. Overall an enjoyable stay 👍😁

Lovely property in a nice town, beds were super comfy and the home is bigger than I had anticipated, and super clean. No designated parking which made it tricky when unpacking /packing. Got a space a couple of roads away. We were hoping to use the small outdoor space in the nice weather, but there were a lot of pigeons using it, along with the surrounding roofs! Overall we would stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Wind Rose Cottage in Amble from Tuesday to Friday. The location is perfect; just a short walk to the harbour and local restaurants, and a great base for exploring the beautiful towns, villages, and beaches of Northumberland. The cottage was comfortable and suited our needs well for a short break. It was also dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. We had a minor issue with the shower temperature being stuck on hot, but it was resolved quickly and efficiently. Parking was easy to find just around the corner, even though the cottage is on a one-way street. Overall, a great little spot for a relaxing coastal getaway!

Very clean and nicely decorated house right in the middle of Amble. Great location for access to restaurants and pubs and for travelling around Northumbria. Easy enough to park on side streets. Only recommendation to make it more comfortable, would be to have one 3-4 seater sofa, probably by the window as there is room in the living room, just would make it a nicer space and especially if you had four people staying.

Excellent responses from owner, immaculate house, very spacious, home comforts, comfy beds, comfy sofas. Immaculate inside. Outside, not the house itself but the road it’s on didn’t give a great appearance upon arrival but as you walk through the door, you forget all of that. I think there may have been a house getting renovated inside so all their rubbish was in the yard. Saturday night was a little noisy but only briefly, nothing untoward with lads from the pub but you’re right in the town. All other nights were silent. Will definitely revisit. Zero faults with the house. Highly recommend for cleanliness and location. 3 min walk to the pier. 10 mins drive to Warkworth. Loved it.

Stayed in amble twice before. Just down the road. House had everything you need. Communication was very good. Responsive when had an issue with the boiler. Bed comfy as other house bed was uncomfortable. Overall great base to stay. Only thing I would mention is that the shower is an all singing and dancing one with radio lights etc but the radio can’t be tuned in. Was looking forward to the novelty of it.

Great location but the property really let it down. The house could do with total renovation, it smelt of stale smoke and was not very clean. poorly decorated with some new furniture. The listing was very misleading.

Wind Rose Cottage provided a great base for our visit to Northumberland. Situated just off the high street in Amble close to pubs and restaurants and within walking distance of the harbour. The accommodation is a good size for four with a number of rooms downstairs including a snug and dining room. The outside space is a small yard. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location. Minutes away from shops and restaurants. Very comfy beds! Parking wasn’t an issue as lots of spaces near by! We had a fab stay as a family of 4 for half term break!
