Nice quirky cottage in a central location. I have it 4/5 not because it was bad but I only give properties 5/5 if I think they are extremely special.

Clean , dog friendly, well appointed

Over cluttered for a small space- too many nick knacks
Tricky to find entrance - could have better directions.
Stayed for3 nights- only one days parking permit.
( managed to get a disc from pavilion which helped massively)
Woken at 5 every morning by gulls standing on roof and heralding the dawn . Possible nest in chimney?
The sound was amplified down into the wee lounge. Thereafter there was loud noises from the bar adjacent emptying bottles into bins etc and staff noise. As an old fisherman’s cottage there is absolutely no sound insulation. Perfect if you need to be up early to go catch fish. Not so great when u want to sleep past 5.30 am. .

A little instructional video walking from the main street to the property would be perfect.
I also think slightly better instructions with parking would help. Having to park a little walk from the parking areas to the property leaves a little room for a parking attendant to catch you out.

We loved our stay, perfect location. Parking was a bit of a pain but that’s Whitby and nothing to do with the house.
We would stay again and will do next year for our annual Whitby trip

Lovely sweet little cottage. Very clean. So close to everything for tourism. Host is so helpful via message and gets back to you so quickly. I was very reassured to know I could just ask any queries and they would be answered almost immediately. I’ll definitely use Host & Stay again.

Delightful little cottage. Traditional, clean, cosy, great interior design and all necessary items for a stay of any length.
2 min walk to all amenities....a little further to abbey plus 199 steps !
Very quiet location. Would stay again.

I had an absolutely delightful stay at Candyfloss Cottage in Whitby! This charming, impeccably clean cottage is a true gem, perfectly blending cozy comfort with modern amenities. The location is unbeatable—just a short stroll from Whitby’s vibrant harbor, quaint shops, and iconic abbey. The decor is stylish yet warm, and the beds were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave! Every detail, from the well-equipped kitchen to the speedy Wi-Fi, was spot-on. I can’t recommend Candyfloss Cottage highly enough—5 stars all the way for an unforgettable Whitby escape!

There was no outside lighting to show the way to the cottage or outside lighting AT the cottage. Thankfully the neighbors was kind enough to leave his porch light on for us on Saturday evening. The walkway to the cottage is totally dark and under a construction scaffolding.

Very close to centre

Parking was on street quite a distance away from cottage. Thought it was mean not to let us in 1 hour early but then ask for fee to be in at 11 am. Carpet onto second floor coming away from gripper - hazard that needs sorting.

Lovely stay in Whitby at the Candyfloss Cottage. Great location central to the centre. Clean, tidy and with all the amenities expected.

Candyfloss cottage is in a great location right in the heart of Whitby. The cottage has everything you need for a great trip away. It was clean and tidy and well decorated. My daughters also enjoyed the jacuzzi bath. It’s not the easiest places to find but is real gem.

A lovely cottage tucked away in a very central location. The real fire makes all the difference for a cosy night in and the beds were very comfortable. This is possibly the best cottage we have stayed in in Whitby so far.

All in all a quirky and cute place that is an excellent location for the town. It definitely needs better directions to find it though. Be sure to pack light as loading bays may not be free of other vehicles and longer stay permit parking is a long way away and difficult to find. The map for this W parking did not help us much. If you do get in the loading bay then the trips up the stairs, through the narrow alleys, and into the hidden square through a little gate are still not that fun, particularly in the dark! The property itself needed a good dust, but was clean enough. It has 2 good bedrooms, the double at the top being a bed only accessible from the bottom of it and not the sides. The stairs are very steep but have helpful banisters. A little more lighting is certainly needed in the living room and my tall other half bashed his head many times on the main light which could do with a rethink. Other than these small things we thought it was lovely and enjoyed our stay a great deal.
