Had a short lovely weekend in Whitby. Was expecting for the money paid better. The parking was hard to get a spot, The internet wouldn’t work on the details given Couldn’t watch channels wanted on TV like Netflix etc as wouldn’t connect Very dusty and cobwebs and spiders 🕷️ A strange smell downstairs but worse in kitchen . Beds mattress in front bedroom was very uncomfortable The bath needs sealant doing as unsightly However we did have a nice weekend in Whitby for the Christmas market weekend but was disappointed with the house.

We had a wonderful stay in Whitby! The location was absolutely perfect, close to everything, yet quiet enough to relax after a busy day exploring. The home was spotless, comfortable, and the ideal size. It had everything we needed for a cozy and stress-free stay. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Whitby. Highly recommend!

Beautifully presented home. Very comfortable and lots of space. Short walk to the town centre. Only negatives were that the check in time is quite late and check out time very early, and there weren't enough toiletries for 4 people for 2 nights. But an overall great stay,.would suggest to others and stay again!

Starting with the positives.. Great location literally 6mins walk to the harbour by the swing bridge! Spacious house, Comfortable beds, lovely bed linen and towels! Negative...A noticeable smell in the kitchen, maybe it's the drains! it's been mentioned before on other reviews! The bath could do with being re sealed it looks unsightly! Outside space could do with some TLC.

We cut our 7-night stay short and obtained a refund through Airbnb support after escalating. On arrival we found several issues that made the property unsuitable: a broken and unsafe bed, black mould in the bathroom, dog hair throughout, dirty sheets on one bed, and towels that smelled of cigarette smoke (we had to buy replacements). We reported these within 24 hours but nothing was fixed, and we were only directed to complete an external complaints form with a 7-day response time. With young children, health and safety concerns, and poor sleep (mattress on the floor), we left after 3 nights. Communication was polite but unsatisfactory, and Airbnb verified our concerns and handled the resolution.

The location of the house is fantastic. Walkable to the centre. The house is decorated fairly modern and the bedrooms are big and bright. My downsides are the bathroom, kitchen and the smell! The smell originating from the kitchen was almost unbearable. The bathroom is damp and very dirty. All blinds, lamps and sills were full of dust! It’s such shame because the house is decorated lovely and has so much potential. But the smell downstairs is awful.

The house is placed close to the centre, just a short walk away. With a lockbox to enter at your own time. We found difficulty parking as it’s at a first come first serve. We arrived on a Friday evening and drove round for an hour still unable to find a space. I had to move my car the following mid morning. The house is nicely furnished downstairs, with a nice spacious kitchen. When entering it had a musky smell to the place. I had noticed plug in air fresheners but these weren’t on when we arrived. The tv is a wireless connection so it kept connecting to a different WiFi so often needed to go into the settings to reconnect. Both the second double bedroom and single beds creek with being metal. All bedrooms have blinds but could do with a black out blind or curtains. The bathroom is very small. It had mould all round the edge of the bath this needs resealing. The shower we couldn’t use it was either freezing or boiling. A new bathroom would be beneficial. We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was just as described but bigger than I had originally thought. The location was 5-8 min walk into Whitby. There is a very small garden area which was suitable for us and our dogs. The Wifi did not work but we sorted it on the last evening as the wifi details did not match what was left but it is actually on the bottom of the wifi box. Perfect for our stay.

The only downside was the parking situation. I didn’t notice anything that was said in the properties description, ended up dropping bags and family off and parking in the long stay parking in town and walking to and from the property, about a mile.

This is a good place. As described and pictured, though we did have problems with the WiFi and connecting the TV which we could only do direct from a mobile phone. The place is walkable from the town, and Whitby is stunning. Communication was swift throughout.

The house was lovely and well laid out. Nice little garden for the dog with seats for us to sit in the sun. The ONLY negatives were that the shower doesn't stay at temperature, my partner actually scolded himself as it suddenly got extremely hot so the kids had to have baths, and the single as well as pone of the double beds were old spring mattresses and so some of us were woken up by how noisy they were. Other than that the location was great, parking was a struggle but over bank holiday weekend near the centre of Whitby that's nothing of a surprise and house overall had great amenities and was very clean.

Blue Sky Cottage is a great location for Whitby. Our children (youngest 3) had no issue walking up and down the hill into town so don't let the other reviews put you off. it's really not far or steep for long. On arriving, we had to park round the corner on a different street as there were no spaces available outside the property. A neighbour on that street questioned it, and asked if we were staying on the street so I think she was annoyed we parked there. The house itself was fine, big lounge and kitchen but I did fine the cleanliness not great. In the kitchen there were no supplies such as foil, cleaning products, dustpan and brush or even a tea towel or washing up liquid or little spoons. The kettle had a weird greasy dust on (that I couldn't clean off) and in general the house was quite dusty. I did flag this up with the owner when we got back and sent some photos, and received quite a generic response which wasn't personal to the issues. Beds were comfy and plenty of towels.

A great stay for a short weekend visit (attending a wedding). Is administered via a cottage hire agency. parking was tough as said by other reviewers but great location to Whitby centre. place was clean and tidy and excellent heating (got warm v quickly which is essential in the march Whitby winds!) parts of the house very tired and worn (especially mattress in the large double bedroom very uncomfortable). Some very minor irks like bed not being made properly (sheet not tucked in) and a bit stingy on small things like only 1 toilet roll, 1 dishwasher tablets, watered down washing up liquid etc. "well stocked kitchen" means tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. that's about it. bring everything else with you. mind the extra *compulsory* charge of £25 safety deposit once you've paid. good for a place to lay your head for an out and about holiday.

We enjoyed our stay at the home. Great location and easy to walk into town (be aware of the big hill on the walk back). Shower could’ve been better, it switched between extremely hot to extremely cold throughout a shower and the pressure was low. Other than that a great stay!

Pros: great location, great TV, nice bedroom, good shower. Cons: WiFi network and password are wrongly described, parking near the property at the weekend is practically impossible, some of the crockery wasn’t clean and there were no small spoons or washing up spong/brush. Minor, but for what we were paying. Oh, and the boiler may need to be switched on.

There was no cleaning products , very dusty dirty sheet and mattress protectors on the bed in the front were dirty. Bathroom was really unclean, but the dried bird poo on the windows was disgusting, house had a really strong musty smell

Myself and my family were staying in Whitby for my nieces Christening and needed somewhere we could all stay. This cottage is perfect - the location is incredible and brilliant value for the middle of Whitby. Hosts were 10/10. Cannot fault our stay at all!

Great location, lovely spacious house and had all the amenities you would need. However, they requested we pay them an extra £25 non-refundable deposit outside of Airbnb and if we didn't pay the extra £25, we would forfeit the house. This is very scammy behaviour, coupled with their weird AI chat responses made us feel a bit cheated. A real shame as the house was otherwise perfect in a fab location, just a few minutes walk from the old town and beaches.

The house is in a good location near to the centre of Whitby with lots nearby. Decor throughout the house was lovely and modern. However, the cleanliness of the house was not good. Simple things that you’d expect to be clean like the bathroom and kitchen were not. The toilet seat was hanging off, shower had hairs in and the window had toothpaste all over it. The trays in the oven were thick with grease and glasses and plates were dirty. Picture frames, lamp shades and blinds were dusty. There was also a strange smell throughout the house. The properly needs some serious TLC.

Blue Sky cottage was lovely and clean and tastefully decorated. It is close the centre of Whitby (10 min walk) and an ideal base for exploring, but there is a steep hill to walk up coming back. We had an issue when we first arrived which was quickly sorted by host & stay and by the owner of the property. After that we enjoyed our stay but I would say that the bed in the front bedroom is very uncomfortable and really could do with a new mattress - I could feel every spring!

Easy to find the house and easy to get in using the instructions provided. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything you would need. Bedrooms were really nice with amazing mattresses which meant everyone slept really well. Area was quiet although parking is a bit of a nightmare - had to park 10 mins away but the hosts had told us that parking can be an issue so it wasn't unexpected. The house is well located with a short walk into Whitby. The hill is pretty steep on the way back if you have older guests or young children. Only issue was that the Wi-Fi password provided both by the hosts and in the property was incorrect. I contacted the host and they responded immediately but were unable to fix it. I eventually sorted it out myself. Would highly recommend this property and would definitely visit again.

The room was very nice, spacious and bright. Ten minutes walk to Whitby harbour. There is a big hill on the road to arrive the house though which makes it a bit of a struggle to walk up. The kitchen was well equipped inside and there was a dishwasher, so it was easy to use and you didn't have to worry about washing the dishes after cooking!
