Lovely cosy place to stay, beautiful location easy walking distance from Matlock town. House was comfortable clean and homely. Was aware of some previous reviews mentioning shower draining issues etc but was glad to see these had been resolved. Parking was easy enough to find, a bit down the road but not far. Nice selection of games and puzzles as well which we enjoyed. Only thing would be to note if bringing dogs that there isn't an enclosed outdoor space, and they are not allowed upstairs/on furniture.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely traditional stone cottage which was very nicely decorated and furnished, as well as being very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for the town, the park and for walks. Communication was clear and prompt.

Small home placed in Matlock. Easy walk to the town centre and about a half an hour walk from Matlock bath. Easily accessible. Cosy rooms, tidy and clean. Negatives - I’m not one to usually complain but the bed in the main bedroom was quite small for two 2 adults in terms of length. It was also an extremely hard mattress and very uncomfortable pillows! Both bedrooms had very thin curtains meaning the light came through very early which was not great with a 2 year old! TV was also too high for watching when sitting on the sofa. Random I know. But we spent the evenings in so that impacted us! Overall central location to all the main areas.

really enjoyable stay, Matlock a lovely place, parking is a issue, also not told where to look for the safe key and not told about the garden. the owner had to show us the garden.

Good location, easy to find. Bit noisy in the main bedroom as facing a busy road. There is damp in the lounge on two walls and it was dusty along with a shower that almost overfilled due to a very slow drain Beds are very comfortable and the house had everything we needed. We would stay again if drain etc has been addressed.

Lovely cottage! clean cosy and fabulous communication before during and after from host. Very proactive and responsive. Only trouble we had was finding the key safe but figured it out after a couple of minutes ☺️ so didn't need to call. Lovely spot for walks and local pubs, places to eat ❤️ would recommend

We had such a wonderful, relaxing time at this cosy cottage. Great communication made it easy to find and feel at home quickly. It is in a beautiful location, walkable to pubs, parks and shops, as well as beautiful walks in the countryside. We will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful stay at Church View Cottage. A really cozy and clean cottage. Beautiful views from back door. Lots of shops, pubs and cafes in walking distance. Short drive to the peaks for stunning walks.

We visit Matlock once or twice a year to see family and this is a great place to stay. Very close to town centre amenities, everything you need for a couple of weeks in the house, and very warm and cosy even in the snowy weather we had!

The cottage was in immaculate condition and felt just like home as soon as we walked in. All of the amenities were there to allow us to cook at the property as well as feeling all cosy and comfy in the evening. The location itself is great and only a short walk to Matlock. While we got lucky with finding parking spots I can see that being a bit of a pain if you have to park further away from the property - but this is all explained by the host and alternative parking is suggested. The host was incredibly responsive to messages and couldn't be more helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property if you want to use Matlock as a base for exploring the Peak District

The host did not provide check-in instructions, so we were rendered homeless at 5 pm on the day. The host did not even respond to AirBnB staff member when we complained. We had to find last-minute alternative accommodation. I would say don't stay here, but then again, you will not be able to get in, so you cannot stay here.

Lovely stay, the Peak District is so beautiful and the cottage a fantastic comfy launch pad for lots of fantastic walks. Beds comfortable and shower lovely and powerful. Great place to take dog with graveyard and park down the hill for the short walks.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It's an adorable home, cozy but also spacious. The location was great and included nearby, free parking. The only issue we had was with not be able to get the thermostat to work on our first night there. The online guidebook said there were instruction left inside the airbnb but there were not. I reached out for help with this but I believe the hosts use another party to answer messages and therefore we weren't able to get it figured out before the end of the night. We were a bit cold that first night, but everything else was great.

Just meh. It's "dog tolerant" rather than "dog friendly". Sinks and shower don't drain which was really gross. Oven doesn't work properly. Didn't like the house info booklet with multiple clicks required to find out information. Bed was super uncomfortable and bed linen was really cheap / uncomfortable.

Great place to stay, everything we needed at the cottage. The beds were very comfortable. Make sure you read the small print! A week before our stay I was asked to pay a mandatory additional cost for insurance. In my opinion, this should be factored into the cost of the accomodation. For this reason I wouldn't stay again.

Had an amazing stay. Cottage was really lovely and felt so cozy. There’s lots to do in Matlock which is a short walk and Matlock Bath which is a 5-10min drive. Great for dog owners as there’s lots of beautiful walks near by and most of the pubs are dog friendly. Host was extremely helpful & would reply to any queries immediately. Will definitely be back!

A beautful little terraced house in the historic old part of town with plenty of character. Ideally situated for a short walk into town with lovely views from the back bedroom over the cricket ground and upper matlock.

Really enjoyed our stay in Church View Cottage, with our dog. Lovely and cosy, nicely decorated and furnished throughout - with everything you could need. Our only issue was the lack of designated parking, but it wasn’t a huge issue, just had to move the car from further away if a spot closer became available. Helpful online guide about local attractions and suggestions for restaurants and pubs etc.

Clean and tidy, nicely furnished and the Christmas tree was a nice touch. Matlock was a lovely place to visit. Did have to pay £250 deposit 2 weeks before trip to be returned 1 week afterwards. Also had to pay a £10 non-refundable admin fee for this. Kitchen was sparse. Normal kitchen utensils and crockery present but would have been nice to have oil for cooking, tea, coffee etc.

We had a great 3 weeks at 72 Church Street. Well equipped, cosy and clean house. Absolutely fab location - so easy to get into town and so close to everything. We didn't have any issues with parking like other guest reviews (and we had 2 cars with us), and the Host and Stay rep, Mick, was super helpful - we had a little trouble with the heating on arrival but he came round and sorted it for us. We would definitely stay here again and we'll definitely be using Host and Stay again

Very clean, modern and comfortable. Very professional service with regards to communication. Overall quite expensive but relatively worth the price. Parking can be quite difficult in the area so would be worth a bit more honest heads up. The property could benefit from blackout curtains. It was also a bit disappointing to see a completely empty kitchen without even the basic condiments.
